No Roy Harper? You sir have put a tear in my eye........
Or Syd Barrett
You know the format. Name the band that you would like out and the one that you would like in.
Bob Marley for Roy Harper I love Bob Marley but hes not Classic Rock
I definatly think clasic rock on the rise again, it so messed up to go to Ozzfest and see like a bunch of ppl. with Zeppilen shirts on
I know but maybe they will get metallica'd in the final poll.
 Metallica'd should be in the dictionary Good choice on putting Johnny Winters in :thumb: I read an article about him in GW and checked out some of his stuff a few weeks ago. |
Take out Stix for Syd Barrett
I downloaded some I still dont see why Cream is so "good" to you.
some people just have different tastes in music. you may like something that no one else in here likes. it's simply a matter of opinion, but you have to give them some respect because whether you like it or not they were all great musicians.

*cough* clapton *cough* |
I have no idea, Medopalis. It is all up to rock not roll.
i just hope we dont get bombarded by the "OMGz0Rz LEIK PAIGE(misspelled on purpose) Iz LEIK dA BIZEST"
Ye gods ive missed out. Erm. Thin Lizzy? or Gary Moores solo Career?
DVG. |
Yes, I just thought of Thin Lizzy. Thin Lizzy for Foghat
Roy Harper for Marley Syd Barrett's solo stuff was a crazy old man making a little less than music. I'm putting my foot down. And plus, we have way too many solo projects/former bands in there already. Current list... Get in your changes now soon. AC/DC Aerosmith Alice Cooper Bad Company Black Sabbath Blind Faith Blue Oyster Cult Bob Dylan Bob Seger Boston Bruce Springsteen BTO Buffalo Springfield Canned Heat Chicago CCR Cream CSN&Y David Bowie Deep Purple Derek & The Dominos Dire straits Emerson Lake and Palmer Eric Clapton Fleetwood Mac Frank Zappa Funkadelic Genesis George Harrison Grand Funk Railroad Grateful Dead Guns N Roses Heart Iron Butterfly Janis Joplin Jeff Beck Jefferson Airplane Jethro Tull John Mayall and the bluesbreakers Jimi Hendrix Experience Kansas King Crimson Kiss Led Zeppelin Lynyrd Skynyrd Nazareth Neil Young Paul Simon Peter Frampton Pink Floyd Queen Rush Roy Harper Santana Steely Dan Steve Miller Band Supertramp Ted Nugent The Allman Brothers Band The Animals The Band The Beach Boys The Beatles The Byrds The Cars The Doobie Brothers The Doors The Eagles The Guess Who The Kinks The MC5 The Police The Rolling Stones The Velvet Underground The Who The Yardbirds Tom Petty Thin Lizzy Traffic U2 Uriah Heep Van Halen Van Morrison Yes ZZ Top Rod Stewart Styx Blue Cheer Mountain John Lennon Moody Blues Paul McCartney April Wine Mark Knopfler Mitch Ryder Electric Light Orchestra Cheap Trick Steppenwolf Johnny Winter The Lovin' Spoonful |
steppenwolf should be in, but I'm not sure who should be out.
Ooo I forgot about them. How about we take out blind faith? We already have Cream, Clapton Amd Derek and The dominos.
What about Journey? I know some of you think they are teh suxerz and all but they were pretty big. |
Leave in Blind Faith. Just because Eric Clapton played for them is no reason to take them off the list.
I'd be fine with taking either of those off.
Where's G. Mule?
Well then. since we have 101 now we need to get rid of one. And then you can replace a band with G-mule.
101 - April Wine = 100
I guess. Now who would you like G-Mule to be replaced with?
Ohh w00ps, for got to subtract another...The Cars.
The really don't like them do you? Fine. G 2 tha muLE! for teh carz!1!

Its not necessarily "classic rock" thats so big. Its bands that were revolutionary. Bands that were different. Jimi Hendrix. the Beatles. Led Zeppelin (who could even play folk for God's sake). but think about the bands that were revolutionary that are played on classic rock stations. they range from the early-mid 60's through the 80's in some cases. they had different sounds. Have you ever heard a band that sounds like Dire Straits? The Cure? Cream? the Doors?
Me, im mostly into led zep. I know so many random facts that its not even funny. Ive been trying to work my way back through different sub genres in "classic rock" especially the 60's heavily blues influenced bands. |
So when is the list goin' up?
Yep. Barely any of the bands sound the same. That's not the case with many other genres.
So when is the list goin' up?
