^ Txus, is that album one of his really noisy albums?
I love Zorn, but I can't stand his really noisy stuff, like Astronome.

It's somehow noisy since its free jazz...but it's not unlistenable or anything, it's pretty coherent...and some of the songs are straight up jazz songs (its a Coleman cover album, so if you know Ornette then you kinda know how it'll sound like).

Really recommended.

Skycamefalling - 10.21

don't see what the big deal is so far

hismajestythepope 12-02-2008 06:10 PM

you deaf son

Txus 12-02-2008 06:10 PM

yeah, that album is mad good

Do you like any crust bands, Masscows?

hismajestythepope 12-02-2008 06:11 PM

the truth machine has cool guitars, idk that whole albums really different from anything else in that genre, which is why it stands out so much to me

Skinners 12-02-2008 06:12 PM
that isnt very true metal of you skinners
Funeral doom is acceptable in my books, stoner doom isnt though.

Txus 12-02-2008 06:12 PM

Sometimes I like A Penny For Your Confessions more, but I'm crazy.

masscows 12-02-2008 06:12 PM

riffs aren't really clicking with me idk

and I haven't heard much crust, planning on fixing that soon...

hismajestythepope 12-02-2008 06:13 PM

skycamefalling - with paper wings... love the breakdown at like 2:20 in this song

@mike: a penny for your confessions is so ****ing good on the emotional rawness factor, where 10.21 is just really epic

Do you know where will you start?

masscows 12-02-2008 06:14 PM

I'm not good with bands/genres but I'm guessing Amebix, Discharge and Antisect would be good starting points...?

Txus 12-02-2008 06:18 PM
I'm not good with bands/genres but I'm guessing Amebix, Discharge and Antisect would be good starting points...?
Yeah, really good ones except Discharge, I wouldn't consider them Crust. Make sure to check out His Hero is Gone, Tragedy, Ekkaia, Wolfbrigade.

masscows 12-02-2008 06:19 PM

still checking out discharge regardless

and tyty

Txus 12-02-2008 06:21 PM

Yeah, Discharge were pretty good anyway.

DeathMagnetik 12-02-2008 06:30 PM

i love girls discharge on my dick

makes me feel like a man

Skinners 12-02-2008 06:31 PM

Discharge belong in the punk forum.

Skinners 12-02-2008 06:38 PM

Whether that's possible or not doesn't make them acceptable in any way.

hismajestythepope 12-02-2008 06:39 PM

what is this ****ing ultimate guitar? gtfo

Niflheim II 12-02-2008 06:39 PM

First Discharge is ****ing classic

np: David Allen Coe - Longhaired Redneck

gmoneyguy 12-02-2008 06:43 PM
Funeral doom is acceptable in my books, stoner doom isnt though.
there is no such thing as stoner doom

Txus 12-02-2008 06:44 PM

He is a metal aficionado

VomitStainedCretin 12-02-2008 07:00 PM
Discharge belong in the punk forum.
They're pretty influential on a lot of death/black metal though, if I recall, particularly with being credited with introducing D-beats.
