Drugs, didn't get along with the other members, and was an *******. I believe they actually kicked him out when he got in a fight with James... I think Dave Mustaine's awesome, but as I've said before, he just doesn't fit in to Metallica IMO. Even though I'd choose him over Kirk any day, Kirk fits the band better.

Hardtail 01-29-2005 11:36 PM

For all you bassists out there look for Amnesia solo, its one of the greatest bass solos done, alot of bass distortion

JACKROXYOU 01-29-2005 11:44 PM

Leper 01-29-2005 11:52 PM
the movie spans from before James enters rehab, to the time in between, and when hes out
seemed like James had a better voice when he was an alcoholic.

Oh well, it works out for the best. if he stayed with metallica there would be no megadeth.

did you not see SKOM??? It was obviously because he was way too drunk too often. And yes Mustaine is awesome, but Kirk really does fit the band better

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 12:05 AM

yea cause dave+ lars is way to much bitching for one band

Joe 01-30-2005 12:07 AM
yea cause dave+ lars is way to much bitching for one band
lol. man i had no idea jason was that mad when he left. and i had no idea the band was doing so badly. lars and james couldn't stop bitching at each other

Change greatest with 'Most Overrated' and you might have something there.

It's Anesthesia anyway.

KILO5203 01-30-2005 12:10 AM

im still waiting for a store to start carrying SKOM in my town. no where has it yet.

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 12:10 AM

yea iheard

does it talk about when it was lars and kirk thats all

metal_milita 01-30-2005 12:13 AM

Man, I just got into Creeping Death. That song is awsome, best I've heard in a while. A lot of songs that aren't talked about a lot are great ie, Blackened, Dyers Eve, Creeping Death, Sanitarium etc.

Anesthesia isn't overrated IMO because not enough people even know about it. Its relativley hard considering its on a bass, but I play it on my guitar and it sounds wicked enough

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 12:15 AM

dude i talk about welcome home as many times as possible

metal_milita 01-30-2005 12:18 AM
dude i talk about welcome home as many times as possible
Wow, one person or more!! That really doesn't mean its talked about a lot. I'm comparing it to the likes of Master of Puppets or Fade to Black.
If those songs were released as singles or had albums named after them, they would be much more popular and appreciated.

JACKROXYOU 01-30-2005 12:20 AM

yea but what are ya gonna do

you hear about the "metallica" video game

Leper 01-30-2005 12:47 AM
yea but what are ya gonna do

I recall hearing something about this a long time ago, like just after the release of St. Anger but i haven't heard anything about it since. Is it coming out soon or what?
For all you bassists out there look for Amnesia solo, its one of the greatest bass solos done, alot of bass distortion
what bassist hasnt heard that song?

Wow Your Ugly 01-30-2005 01:56 AM

I saw Metallica in San Jose back in Novemember, and in San Francisco back in March. They ruled beyond belief both times.

The SF one was better, cause they played DYERS EVE!!! Hell yeah!! That kicked some major major metal ***.

SonorKen 01-30-2005 02:02 AM

K, saw Some Kind of Monster today. Killer movie, I reccomend it to everyone. Even if your not a huge Metallica fan I reccomend anyone who likes music to watch it. It showed alot about the personalaties of the band members. James is a man with some serious issues that he faced head on, Kudos to James. Kirk is probably my favorite member, he is the most interesting. His house was just awesome! Lars is the whiney little *** I always thought he was, but, I won't go into that!

It just shows how something as big as that can eat you up inside. AND, man, some of those concert shots were just incredible, words can't describe it.

SonorKen 01-30-2005 02:21 AM

Oh, and if for some freakish reason Lars or someone close to him would ever read this, dude, chew with your mouth closed, its nasty!
heh treachorous little man
sounds like someone is bitter about not getting a cut of tallicas money huh
megadeath arent even that good

vashts80 01-30-2005 02:33 AM

Mustaine > Hammett.

As much as I love 'tallica, unless you're conceited, you will agree.

He got Royalties for the songs he wrote, so shut your mouth. It's Megadeth.

DETH.

How hard is it to remember. Suppose it's like trying to spell Kirk Hammetts name right eh?

hammet_ownz 01-30-2005 02:59 AM

shut your hole

shut your hole punk i admit i made a mistake

what are ya? the 27th master of thrash?

more like a supreme master of trash

ThrashMaster27 01-30-2005 03:12 AM

Wow, someone give this man an award for comedy. You make too many mistakes, fanboy.

Megadeth aren't that good? what have you heard of theres? Evidently not a lot.

hammet_ownz 01-30-2005 03:21 AM

fanboy? thats rich
^^

come on, did i insult your poor little megaDETH obsession by giving my opinion?

oh no, im not gunna get over that.
your a prime example of someone cant take criticism, constructive or otherwise so just turn your megaDETH up and turn down the lights in your cave youll be right mate, however hard it is to fathom that someone, somewhere doesnt like megaDETH

ThrashMaster27 01-30-2005 03:25 AM

No, you made an idiotic and wrong statement. I was simply pointing out he was paid for his time in Metallica. His frustration towards Metallica is not on a financial level, as I'm assuming he's well off from being in Megadeth. Personally Megadeth just break my top 5 band list and I can take critisism when it's actually based on true facts and personal opinion that isn't biased.

Plus, you didn't answer my question.

hammet_ownz 01-30-2005 03:56 AM

i bought peace sells at a garage sale thinking it would have some metallica influence in it but alas there wasnt much, in my opinion. so that cd is in a box on top of my bookcase labelled 'cra.p'

answer your question?

ThrashMaster27 01-30-2005 04:05 AM

Yeah it does. Confirms you're an idiot for listening to only one of Megadeths albums and dismissing them straight away. What if someone only listened to St. Anger by Metallica and immediately dismissed them. What would you think about that?

Chu 01-30-2005 04:42 AM

lol owned... rep++
But I don't agree with him being overrated, I think he's rated enough? But yeah, every 'metal' bassist has heard that song I'd say.

benfan 01-30-2005 06:48 AM

megadeth and metallica are both equally brilliant. I think the only reason mustaine is still bitter about metallica is because of the way he was treated when they fired him, also metallica are a little more popular but only because they released mainstream albums like metallica and, well st. anger was kind of mainstream because it wasnt just the metal heads who where listening to it(well it wasnt in england anyway)

a little more popular. try 90 million albums vs 15 million. and kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets and ...and justice for all combined sales easily beat all of megadeths, so even before they "sold out" they kicked mustaines ***.

Why on earth would you expect a Megadeth album to have some Metallica influence?? And if you are going to make outrageous statements like that then at least justify them.
And also, disliking an album becuase it doesn't have enough Metallica influence is bordering on being ridiculously close minded.

ok, im not a regular in this thread, but why do people still argue over the ancient 'deth / 'tallica thing?

i like both bands. mustaine was a pain while in metallica, but they did well with him. personally i just think there was too much ego in the band with hetfield and mustaine. however as theyre now in separate bands i dont see why its still such a big issue.
