^ Yeah. I don't get it.
|
theyre pretty much the same band haha
except green days new music sucks more |
no offense but i really really hate green days american idiot. i do like some of their other stuff. but not as much as blink.
|
One bad album doesnt stop them from having a pretty strong back catalogue.
|
sry, i didnt mean to make anybody mad i just dont like green day that much.
if i made anybody mad i didnt mean to. |
I adore Green Day's first three albums, the rest of them are alright, and American Idiot is pretty lame.
Blink > Green Day I'm sorry but it's a fact. |
Dookie is like...a masterpiece, though.
I think: Dookie > Dude Ranch Possibly, Dookie > Enema, too. |
Dookie > all of Blink's albums to be honest, but it's a very tough call. Dude Ranch, Enema and TOYPAJ are ALMOST as good, but not quite, in my opinion.
1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours beats the sh1te out of Blink's early stuff (Buddha and Cheshire Cat) though. Don't get me wrong, I love Blink to pieces, but I grew up listening to GD so I'm naturally gonna be biased. Insomniac is my favourite album though... Stuart and the Ave <3 EDIT: For me it's a lot like the age old arguement... RBF or LTJ? |

He's gettin' lazy in his old age.
- Poo. |
Dookie is a phenomenal album, even if their following album isn't that great.
|
when i saw blink tom was gettin crazy with the solos i thought he was on meth or something it was awesome
|
I really am not into greenday. i just think Blink 182 has a better sound the 2 singers help blink alot (im not really a fan of BJ's singing) . But I dont think Greenday and Blink 182 sound anything the same... I have dookie but I wouldnt rate it anywhere near blink 182's albums. Just my opinion
|
i just think green day is boring
|
i just think green day is boring
We share a common opinion. I love hearing a Green Day song or two now and then, but I can't listen to a full album through, they just get boring really quickly. |

I think Dookie is THE most over rated album of all time.. I know what I just said probably just f*cked off the whole entire pop/punk board, but I just dont see why its rated so highly... Alot of the songs sound the same, hardly any cool guitar riffs or anything, a few good bass riffs here and there and thats about it... Just powerchords and Billy Joe's voice over them (which IMO is a pretty dull voice to listen to for a whole album) Nothing too special (I know pretty much all punk related music is powerchords, but I find Dookie too repetative in style and structure) I am pretty biased though, as I love Blink and don't really like Green Day... Dont get me wrong, Dookie is a solid album, but it never comes close to being the 2nd greatest punk album of all time which I read somewhere the other week.
|
pop punk is repetitive.
Blink certainly are and they only really use powerchords and simple riffs too. |

Yeah... Dookie got me into Pop-Punk, and I'd quite seriously say I agree that it's one of the best pop-punk albums ever. Own opinions though I guess.
Dookie is a phenomenal album, even if their following album isn't that great.
 Heathen! Insomniac ftw! /slap ilu rly |
nah i agree dookie is boring and repetitive
even more so than any blink album |

I don't like Green Day at all. Never really liked Billy Joes voice. I enjoy blink once in a while though
|
lol
blink > greenday |
Im thinking about getting a tattoo. Like i think it would be sort of cool as they have "raised" me and i grew up wanting to be like them.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/dude_sweet99/Tat.jpg Like? Im thinking somthing small as on my wrist? |
That would be pretty cool but not on your wrist.
Maybe your shoulder or arm or something. |
Forehead!
|
Meh, i wouldn't get a tattoo of a band or something, expect my very subtle one im getting one day, muhahahaha.
|
Didn't you want a Star Wars symbol or something? (excuse my lack of knowledge)
http://www.csulb.edu/~mdion/images/SublimeSun.gif Over my left hip/around to the front of my stomach. So it looks like it's rising out of my trousers when I got my shirt off :D It's gonna happen one day <_< |
Oh yeah, i forgot about that one, lol.

A band is really the only thing I could get a Tattoo of. I want it to mean somthing. And ino i will never wake up hating blink 182. Not like if you got a gf name or some lame pre designed one in the shop. |

You wont wake up hating Blink182 maybe, but you will proberly grow out of them, and be like "wtf..." |
You honestly think you'll still listen to Blink when your 50 and it will still mean something?
Thats a pretty big risk. |
You honestly think you'll still listen to Blink when your 50 and it will still mean something?
Thats a pretty big risk.
Yeah..Ignore him, he's not the smartest guy on here. No offence to you mate, but you're dead wrong. I can safely say that 50 years from now a band a simple as Blink-182 won't have an affect on anyone, probably not even Tom, Mark or Travis...Ok well maybe them..<_< |
Tom will still listen to AVA when he's 90, fact.
|
Hahaha yeah.
Lyrics are something I don't think I'd mind tattoo'd onto me. For example the line.. "She's All I Need, She's All I Dream, She's All I'm Always Wanting.." It's from "All Of This" - Blink 182, and I can say that I wouldnt' mind that tattoo'd onto my arm. It's a much less "known" Blink song, so if someone saw it, it's not "Omg, you listen to Blink?" right away. It's subtle enough for it not to be immediatly associated with the band, but it still has meaning behind it. |
