I think a mod should change the name of this thread to 'Not The Radiohead Thread'.
I'll tell Jim to change your user name to that.

Little Man being Erased 06-07-2005 06:22 PM

That would be so cool.

br3ad_man 06-08-2005 12:34 AM

I find it insane how many people think the new Coldplay album is good.

In other news, I'm getting a new keyboard in 2 weeks!

What kind?

br3ad_man 06-08-2005 01:35 AM

Yamaha PSR 295. It's half decent.
Yamaha PSR 295. It's half decent.
Starting a band or is it just to fool around with?

br3ad_man 06-08-2005 02:18 AM

Bit of both. I won't be playing much keyboard in the band, but it'll will be awesome for coming up with ideas.

gaslight 06-08-2005 09:07 AM

Keyboards are sweet, good fun, great for theory, great for ear training.

While I am here I must inform you of Team Sleep playing shows in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

As this seems more like the place to say it, im going to see Electric Six again, w00t!

Iai 06-08-2005 05:02 PM

So I just read Dr. David Thorpes latest column.

Funny, it was a direct split - 4 albums I hate, 4 I love, and one I'm indifferent too.

His commentary of Blonde On Blonde is genius.

YDload 06-08-2005 05:14 PM

Oh yeah, Your Band Sucks is always interesting. I'm glad he finally gave Nirvana a sound thrashing

Which one are you indifferent about? I feel that if I know that, I should be able to figure out the rest.

Iai 06-08-2005 05:29 PM

I'm indifferent to Never Mind The Bollocks.

That's good, I'm looking into starting up playing my trumpet again.

Zappa 06-08-2005 05:55 PM

I received a euphonium to borrow over the summer from my band director today. It's a pretty cruddy marching one, but it's still cool to mess around with. I'm a trumpet player, if any of you did not already know.

TalkingHead 06-08-2005 06:43 PM

Iron & wine tomorrow \m/

Wanker 06-08-2005 06:44 PM

I'd be doing this: \m/ through the whole thing, if I were you.

TalkingHead 06-08-2005 06:46 PM

 trust me I will, Ive been dieing to hear him live for soooooooooo long. It's going to be brillliant

That gig is gonna be awesome. I don't think he's touring in the UK (or at least won't be for ages) so I couldn't go to one of his gigs even if I wanted to.

Have fun :thumb:

Iai 06-08-2005 06:48 PM

That's funny, I took iron tablets and drank wine today.

Interstate 06-08-2005 06:59 PM

Here's my choice:

Buy GTA: San Andreas when it comes out for Xbox (UK) on Friday

OR

buy tickets to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in August

I can only afford one this month (unless the Nick Cave gig still has tickets in 3 weeks time - but seeing as it's a one off (at least I think) - it won't have)

Wanker 06-08-2005 07:00 PM

Tough one.

At least consider the fact that GTA: SA will still be in stores once the Nick Cave concert passes.

*raises eyebrows*

ATM 06-08-2005 07:04 PM

Go to the show.

Iai 06-08-2005 07:04 PM

Chip your XBox and download the game.

True...it's hard to decide though.

I will buy GTA as a present to myself for completing my exams (when I have my last one on the 24th June) and it will kick ass. The Nick Cave gig is so tempting though.

I'm gonna have to think about this...

Little Man being Erased 06-08-2005 07:05 PM

Definitely get the Nick Cave tickets first.

TalkingHead 06-08-2005 07:06 PM

Get the Nick Cave ticket you heretic! :p

Zappa 06-08-2005 07:06 PM

Nobody cares about my euphonium.

Interstate 06-08-2005 07:07 PM

 Anywayz I'm off to bed now. Thanks TH for the albums :)

Night all.

ATM 06-08-2005 07:07 PM

I could go to Jurassic 5 tonight but I feel like crap. Stupid allergies.

Iai 06-08-2005 07:07 PM

Also consider that, in my opinion, San Andreas is not a patch on Vice City.

The NPC 06-08-2005 07:07 PM

Have Nick Cave buy you the game.

Iai 06-08-2005 07:08 PM
Nobody cares about my euphonium.
I only know what one is because I studied Symphonie Fantastique last year.

Little Man being Erased 06-08-2005 07:09 PM
Nobody cares about my euphonium.
If I knew what a euphonium is, I might.
Have Nick Cave buy you the game.
Ah, the perfect solution.

YDload 06-08-2005 07:11 PM

You told me all about euphoniums before. I'm very happy for you. :)

When I was in fifth grade I got to play the school's baritone saxophone. I was one of the few kids who could reach the mouthpiece while sitting with the sax resting on the floor. Too bad all the bari sax parts were really really boring :(

Zappa 06-08-2005 07:29 PM

It's like a baby tuba. However, I got a crazy marching one that you hold like a trumpet. It sounds like a trombone, only less slidy.

ATM 06-08-2005 07:31 PM

I went from the trumpet, to the baritone, to the tuba.

Zappa 06-08-2005 07:34 PM

This is what I personally sound like on the thing. Keep in mind that I just got it today...

Ah cool, sounds like fun.

My brother played the trombone once upon a time.

Zappa 06-08-2005 07:42 PM

Yeah it is fun. It makes playing the trumpet really weird if you do them one after the other, though, since the difference in mouthpiece sizes is huge.
