and on a side note...how do people post new threads? are only administrators allowed to do that? Thanks!
You have to wait twenty-four hours. |
Sarah Blasko - The Overture & The Underscore
The Grates - The Ouch. The Touch.
Just bought those two. My friend gave me some music by this band called God is an Astronaut. It's ok. The start of the song he showed me is nearly identical to 'A Warm Place' by Nine Inch Nails. |
I've been loooooooooving The Flaming Lips asoflate. I can't stop listening to "In a Priest Driven Ambulence" and the new single "W.A.N.D". Such a great band.
|
I can't find WAND anywhere, and it's upsetting me.
I've been listening to The Mekons Rock n Roll today. That and Sleater-Kinney. |
Haven't listened to any music in the last two days or so, I listened to Anthony & The Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now going to work on Friday and I'm convinced it's one of my favourites of 2005.
|
The Replacements - Tim
Bob Marley & the Wailers - Catch Fire The Toasters - Ska Killers |
It's been a Yo La Tengo week.

Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica
Man, i love the drummer on this album so much. He's excellent. I'm debating what Beefheart album to get next, as i've only heard this + Ice Cream for Crow. |
You can listen to it on their myspace, if you just want to hear it. http://www.myspace.com/flaminglips |
Panic! At the Disco, unfortunately. I'm reviewing their album for the school newspaper and I posted the review on Sputnik, just to get back in the swing of things.
If you, NPC, Zappa and Tangy wrote reviews for every band you hated, we'd need a new forum. |
If you, NPC, Zappa and Tangy wrote reviews for every band you hated, we'd need a new forum.
NPC's would all just say "this band sucks because they're crappy;" Mine would all be "this band sucks because they make passionless music for the sake of being weird;" Nacho's would all be "this band sucks because they're derivative and idiotic." |

and Tangy's would be "this band sucks because I don't like them"? |
Hey you, watch that mouth boy!
The Drones - Wait Long by the River & the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By This is such a badass album. It goes from hardcore revved up Crazy Horse type rockers, to slow burning blues jams, to Birthday Party craziness to weird, delicate and mournful ballads. Why are they not bigger I ask? Why? |
School of the Flower.
yum, i love this on vinyl. |

I was feeling cheeky :p
Why are they not bigger I ask? Why?
Because it's impossible to find their cds anywhere? |

NPC would get mad at a band for not being post punk enough. Speaking of post punk, actually, I've been digging Gang Of Four's Entertainment! lately. Wicked album, recommended for fans of The Clash and/or Joy Division. |
Jaco Pastorius - Word of Mouth
|
Yesterday:
Jawbreaker - Dear You Pavement - Wowwie Zowwie/Brighten the Corners Today: Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One |
Does anyone else really really dislike The Clash?
|
Does anyone else really really dislike The Clash?
i could live without them. American punk > British punk |
Well, now I feel slightly more normal.
I've been listening to: Tom Waits - Rain Dogs Sufjan - Illinois Trophy Scars - Hospital Music |
Does anyone else really really dislike The Clash?
All I need is Rock The Casbah and I could be happy for a long time. |

My favourite artists are as follows: Queens of the Stone Age Weezer The Stooges Black Sabbath Sublime Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals Wilco Hot Snakes Nick cave & the Bad Seeds Bob Dylan With the exception of Hot Snakes, I'd say that my favourite bands (ie bands I love a whooole lot) are all pretty popular/well known. I've never snubbed a band because of their status or stopped liking them because of their popularity. So get fucked :) |

So like everyone else I heard some mild comments about Sufjan in late '04 early '05. I checked out Illinois, and over the summer I liked it alot. But it sucks now, and I find Seven Swans to be his better album. It's shorter, it's more concise and it just seems like he cared more. Make sure you check it out bread. |

oh man you're so scene. i didn't know anyone around here listened to these guys. they're great. you like level-plane than? |
Huh?

I looked. I like Envy and Hot Cross, so I'll say... no, I don't really like Level plane.

If it's good, I don't really get sick of it.
|
Just wanted to get the 13,000th post in here ;)
I, uh, dig things. I dig reggae a lot. |

Yeah, Seven Swans is definitely better. I dig Illinois more now because on iTunes I have two names for the album: Illinois Illinois (actual songs) The second one has all of the annoying filler removed and makes a really solid album. If he had cut it down to 11 tracks, it would have been in the top 10 of the year. I'm going to take a nap to Laughing Stock |
Erik Petersen/Robert Blake - Bellingham & Philidelphia
Captain Chaos - Captain Chaos That Captain Chaos album is fun. |
Dillinger Escape Plan- Calculating Infinity
I shouldn't have listened to this right before bed. My head's still ringing and I think that angry man is coming to get me :( |
Big Black - The Hammer Party
|
I really like The Microphones - Song Islands.
I'm really surpised though because I thought it was a post-unicorns side project but when I found out that it had nothing to do with them I was like wow. Phil Evrum sounds a lot like the Unicorns. |
The Stiletto Formal
