I stay up everynight until about midnight and then get up at 5:45. I get no sleep at all, but I usually make up for it on Saturday by sleeping the entire day
NP: Iced Earth - Wolf |
I'll alternate days playing guitar or sleeping until 11 PM, then chill and do homework or whatever until 2 in the morning, sleep til 7, rinse and repeat. Not really what I want to happen, but its how my time has been working out.
|
I just play when i feel like it.
I go to bed around 11-12. Get up at about 7:50 (30 mins before school starts :-\) |
I'm one of those guys that doesn't feel like he's played enough if its not 5+ hours.
|
I'm the opposite. My attention span isn't long enough for guitar. Usually I just pick the guitar up and play riffs/songs. Excercises for the most part bore me.
|
i have to practice everyday for at least 5-6hour else i get very bored i think its pretty much got to be a way of live
Horrorscope finally came today very good not too sure if its better then the years of decay either way it kicks ***. |

Yeah same here. For me its either 5+ hours or nothing, I feel incomplete if I don't get through the whole of what I need to practice. Like 3-4 of that is technique, 1 on new material, and 1 on writing and theory and ear. I've got it down to a way where I don't lose interest either. I don't have the longest attention span, but I'll practice for 50 minutes then take a 10 minute break, rinse and repeat. Plus my leg starts falling asleep after that long too. |
I play guitar until I get tired, which means I play for hours on end.
|
I play drums........
/misfit |
I play bass if I'm not doing homework, that used to be about 8 hours a day, latley it's been like 4 though.
|
Anyone else notice that you actually play better after a break of not practicing? When I went on vacation for a week I came back and to my surprise, my alt picking was way faster.

That's happened to me a few times. I hit a three string sweep after two days of not playing, it was awesome. |
Its never made my sweeping better unfortunately. Sweeping is one of those things for me that I have to constantly practice it, or I get rusty really fast.

After that one incident, the same rang true for me. Right now I'm learning arpeggios left and right. |
Sweeping comes easy for me. :D
|
It took me a lot of practice to get it down at first, but now I'm decent at it.

Lucky you. :p NP: Judas Priest - Jugulator |
I wonder when we're going to be able to see The Alliance of Hellhoundz video clip >.>;
I'm curious on how it came out. |
They were making a video? Awesome.
NP: Motorhead - Fight (Inferno is great, everyone pick it up if you haven't. It's just as good as the other essential Motorhead LPs) |

I need to hold off on the music for a while. I can't wait to get that Sodom DVD though. By the description of it, sounds like it will be KICK***! |
Is Sodom's tour still on?
|
Is Sodom's tour still on?
I'd like to go. According to what I had read about Finntroll, it was still on. I heard some Finntroll though already. Funny stuff. I just want to get in the middle and start kicking everyone trying to dance to polka-metal  |
Is Sodom's tour still on?
Well if you even want to consider it a tour. They are playing like 6 or 7 dates all on the East Coast, which I'm pissed about, because I told this really awesome chick that I would take her to see the show because she loves Finntroll and I love Sodom, but I guess that dosen't get to happen, because I'm on the West Coast  |
Whereabout on the West Coast?
This is one of the few times I'm glad to be on the East Coast :D |

Yeah, pretty lame here
I thought that was here... That sucks though man, I was hoping you'd be in the Bay Area. |
No wonder i'm so bad.... i play for about 30 mins a day.
I don't know how people can practice for more than an hour at once. The most I've practiced in a day is like 2 hours, and the most at once was about 1 hour. I do play drums though, so maybe it's different than guitarists |

well 30 mins is only an estimate. I just pick it up and play whever i'm bored/feel like playing a song, rather than setting myself out a specific amount of time for playing. |
I learned how to play a few phrases from the opening solo to 'One Shot At Glory' today. :chug:
|
That is an awesome song. I wish there were guitarist like you people around here. The most common thing people want to play is hardcore.
|
That's the most common thing most places I think. It is here too, anyway.
There are tons of horrible bands, and 1 or 2 good ones, which last I heard were split up. :( I want to start a band, but nobody agrees with my musical tastes :p. I checked out Exhorder and I think they're pretty good so far. |
Slaughter In The Vatican = awesome.
|
Yeah, its amazing how much Pantera ripped off Exhorder.
|
Yeah, its amazing how much Pantera ripped off Exhorder.
Yeah, down to Kyle Thomas's vocals and everything. Though, they ripped off The Law more than anything. I can't hear anything in Pantera's music that sounds like it could've been on SitV. |
Yeah, thats because SITV is ****ing brutal thrash and Pantera is pseudo-thrash that can't touch the greatness achieved on that album.
|
Slaughter In The Vatican = awesome.
Indeed. I used to like Pantera when I first discovered metal, but I soon grew away from that. They're okay now and then, but they definitly don't come CLOSE to touching this album. :) /on the second listen. |
I think I shall give it a spin! :D
|
Excellent. :)
Hydra Vein is next, followed by maybe some Vio-lence or Mekong Delta. /on a thrash rampage. |
MEKONG DELTA! I <3 them.
