playing bass really opens you up to new genres and artists.
most of my friends listen to stuff like rock and rap or whatever, and dont know anything about jazz music.
music is dominated by popluar genres and people are oblivious to other genres like jazz and funk.

I noticed that also, when I picked up bass and started talking to other musicians I found myself getting into all kinds of new music that I would have never thought of enjoying.

I find that bassists are the most theory/music/life knowledgable people.

I think I can thank MX, for at least 75% of my bass skills and music tastes.

I have learned SO much on here. It is beyond words.

I missed my 2,000th.

Dieforitall reminded me about 8 posts later.

Have any of you ever seen a Stick? This thing is crazy.
http://www.stick.com/method/

The second video is the good one. Watch the whole thing the guitar solo at the end is crazy.

PaulSimonon 04-18-2005 05:19 PM

I don't think I'd like a stick. Too many strings, and not enough funk.

Yea, those things are sweet man I think that the MXer: "Coffee Killer" had one? But i'm not sure he may have sold it.

I just watched that video again, and that solo thing he did at the end of Vid 2 is pretty amazing sounding.

I agree, but it'd be fun to, at least, try out.
