Sup guys?

I'm debating on making a trip to the CD store.

Have any of you guys heard of a documentray called Rock School? My Dad and I might go see it today.

halfdeadhippo 06-11-2005 10:48 AM

I saw an ad for "Rock School" in Guitar World once. I didn't know what it was about and it didn't really interest me, so I just ignored it.

superpeer 06-11-2005 10:49 AM

Yeah, go to the CD store, always good.

That's the movie. It looks entertaining.

TheDMV 06-11-2005 10:50 AM

Is it the one about the School of rock in Philadelphia PA. I live near that place, I should try and get lessons there. IT's the most expensive place ever, but I heard its worth it.

Yes. I swear thats the only song you have heard by them.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 01:49 PM

Sweet deal. I'm not within 200 miles of any good music, unless you consider bad ZZ Top cover bands good music. :p

Listen to Me! I have new stuff uploaded on there, and I'm recording my own full song, so that should be up fairly soon..

It's my soundclick, if you're too lazy to click on it. :p

MAthiAS 06-11-2005 02:00 PM

On Soundclick... I have an account, now where do I go to upload my recordings?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 02:09 PM

Do you already have your 'band' on there? If not, you need to fill out this seperate deal within your account for your band.

After, click on 'my soundclick' then at the top, it should say 'band administration.' Click on your band. After that, just click on 'add songs.' After that, it's fairly simple.

I'm in Chester PA, so yeah, I think you could say that's pretty close.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-11-2005 02:12 PM

For those of you somewhat advanced in the knowledge of theory, what would you call this tuning?

C G D G B E

TheDMV 06-11-2005 02:15 PM

^I thought you just called tunungs like DADGAD or EADG. I guess you could say however many steps down it is though. I am by no means a theory expert.

Drop the last 2 strings down a step. :p

Kage 06-11-2005 02:17 PM

I think it would just be Drop C/G

Where would I find that?

Jom 06-11-2005 02:24 PM

The first two strings are Drop C, but the remaining four are standard? Odd tuning. But yeah, Kage would be right.

Dancin' Man 06-11-2005 02:29 PM

I imagine you can get some cool voicings on chords with that tuning, but probably overly bassy.

In other news - wrote an awesome song yesterday at band mates house. Seems as though we're even going to add a cello part (he is an excellent cellist and his brother (am my mom. Actually, my sister is a better cellist that he is but she's 25 and in Germany) plays violin so we could add that in too)

It's disgusting here. 92 degrees and super humid. I also have nothing to do. My girlfriend invited me to go somewhere but it's like 45 minutes form my house and I'm running my car on fumes so I had to turn her down.

Isn't that the tuning for Soundgarden's "Fourth of July?" It's an awesome song, really heavy too.

The second parentheses confused me.
