not going to lie, I teared up when i saw this part in the theater for the first time

I was more just like, silent and in awe.

The movies were really well done, but they cut out some stuff that they should've kept in.

the only thing the books and movies were missing was an aragorn arwen sex scene

and tom bombadil

which is really the only thing that i was getting at

nah peter jackson literally just had no ****ing idea how to translate that, and thus made sense to cut for time anyways.

i was more shocked that the final scenes the in the shire were cut as a lot of the meaning of the book lay in those

edit: guillermo del toro is doing them so there is no way they'll be butchered

I'm glad they left him out, actually. Even for the books he was just a complete anomaly. The lore and mystery behind him is very interesting though. He's probably a [I]Vala[/I]. imo.

Anyways, as much as I love the character, it is better that they left him out because people wouldn't understand him. Not in the "they won't understand him so leave him out to please the views who never read the books" kind of way, but "lets leave him out because he's too much out of left field to fully depict in a movie we have to watch the length on.".

Actually, I heard that Jackson was fired from the movie because he went over budget or something. They're going to use all of his stuff though.

Tom is just a mystery, and i think its better to just leave it at that. Like that article points out, Tom shares many qualities with all the beings in the world, but doesn't really fit into any of them. "He is".


My personal theory is that Tom is a physical manifestation of Arda itself.
