Bruce Sings, Roy Z plays both Guitars and Bass, I don't know about Drums.
It's a Spector Performer series. It's my only bass, but I love it.

You don't need tabs for Iron Maiden songs, just remember these four notes:

G--------------------------------
D--------------------------------
A-7777-5555-3333--22-55--7777-
E--------------------------------

That's the gist of almost every Maiden song, although if you need help with the fills just play a lot of 5's, 7's, and 9's.

Brew 05-20-2005 03:55 PM

I saw the video of Blaze getting angry after a fan spat at him during The Trooper earlier.

It was quite funny, but his singing was pretty poor, he couldn't hit the same high notes as Bruce during the ''Whoas''.

thats coz bruce kicks ***

Brew 05-21-2005 05:27 AM

Bruce is a funny guy, I've got a few of his rants from various shows.

Glass Onion 05-21-2005 06:44 AM

IMO Blaze was just a terrible singer for Maiden. His voice just didn't suit them in the slightest and lacked the emotion Maiden needed. And live he was just crap. I've got a bootleg DVD of an show in Argentina I think and his voice is all over the place. I can't stand X Factor or Virtual XI either the only song I like with Blaze is The Clansman.

Bruce is almost perfect for Maiden. I just wish he could pull of some of the Dianno era songs better :thumb:

Brew 05-21-2005 07:22 AM

I might be seeing Di'Anno with Maiden England as his backing band. It should be interesting.

Yea, I agree, I think Blaze Bayley wasn't distinctive enough to be as good as Bruce.

Thunder Fingers 05-21-2005 07:54 AM

The X Factor Rocks!

Brew 05-21-2005 07:56 AM

From what I've heard of the Blaze-era Maiden albums its good stuff.

I guess you could compare Blaze being in Maiden to Ian Gillan being in Black Sabbath, two voices that weren't right for the style that their predicessors(sp?) had, but good for the time that they were there.

I don't like what I've heard from the X-Factor. It's......lacking in something. :-/

crag 05-21-2005 08:43 AM

i think people hate Blaze so much because they keep comparing him to Bruce who is an amazing singer, if Bruce never joined Maiden and Blaze did people would have liked him more

ashman 05-21-2005 08:58 AM
so when he does gigs, does he just get a session musician in?
Possibly, or they just don't gig, I don't think Bruce would have the time especially with the Early Days tour coming up.

TXF and VXI are great albums, they went a whole new direction, which I liked, but it wasn't as good as Bruce.

Ibanez_slinger 05-21-2005 09:01 AM

u know...he has a point.....
Blaze was a good singer.....but i feel that he wasnt able to fill bruces shoes afer he left.dont get me wrong ....he is an amazing singer,he just didnt fit the bill.

vashts80 05-21-2005 09:56 AM

Somebody else said this, and it's the exact truth. We compare Blaze to Bruce too much to notice that they're two totally different styles of singing. Blaze is a very good vocalist, but if you compare him to Bruce, he is a bad vocalist.

Glass Onion 05-21-2005 10:06 AM

I know hes a different singer from Bruce but IMO opinion his voice just doesn't suit maiden. I've heard live stuff of him and studio and i just didn't like his voice. Paul was a completly different style to Bruce and I like Dianno's style but if he was to take on Bruces songs I doubt he could pull off many of them, Same with Bruce doing Dianno i don't think he can do it that well.

Also the first Maiden songs I heard was on a Blaze album, I think it was Virtual XI but can't really remember and I didn't like his voice then either so I couldn't have compared it to Bruce's.

EDIT: Wheres this Dianno with Maiden England gig taking place Brumington? Is it a one of or a mini tour thing?

The X-Factor and Virtual XI are good albums, Blaze sounded great for them as his voice suits darker songs much more than Bruce's voice, and the 2 Blaze albums were much darker than most of the Bruce albums.

the only Maiden studio album i haven't heard so far is No Prayer for the Dying.

He's touring the UK with Maiden Scotland supporting him on the Scotland shows, and Maiden England supporting him on the English shows. (They may be the same band, I'm not too sure).

I think its in July.

the_uber_penguin 05-21-2005 03:33 PM

Congratulations to Sack-Man on getting the 9000th reply.

I have Hallowed By Thy Name stuck in my head.

I wish I could sing it.

Glass Onion 05-21-2005 04:11 PM

I thought I got the 9000th? On my screen its saying he's got 9001st...and I've just noticed that. Yay for me :thumb: ;)

I was listening to Dream Theater playing Hallowed before. Being a live bootleg though the production on its pretty poor. It sounds wierd with the clicky bass of Harris aswell.
