The Chosen Ones is great, and probably my favourite of KIMB.

NP: Blind Guardian - Majesty.

best BG song by far, the solo sounds a hell of alot like Tornado Of Souls

Enlighten Me 05-13-2006 11:20 AM

Is Blind Guardian anything special? The only power metal ive heard was HammerFall.
I mean it's fun and puts you in a good mood with all the choruses and nice melodies but nothing special, you know what I mean?

Jev 05-13-2006 11:24 AM

Try Rhapsody, dragonforce and Sonata Arctica.

Lord Abortion 05-13-2006 11:55 AM

Yeah, Hammerfall aren't anything special...middle of the road PM.

Mother 05-13-2006 12:52 PM
did Megadeth really signed on RR? I haven't seen anything on RR page or Megadeth.com.
that was my source ... not very reliable.. but still.

Jev 05-14-2006 10:48 AM

Kinda confusing why it's not on the main site then.

Drone 05-14-2006 04:11 PM

Maybe Dave doesn't want it to be put up until he announces it himself. I would 100% bet that is why it's not there.

Lord Abortion 05-15-2006 01:59 AM

Yeah, it would be that, I think.

Jev 05-15-2006 04:59 AM

There's nothing on the Megadeth site.

Maybe it's a lie...

Drone 05-15-2006 11:00 AM

If you are a member of the forums, you know that he likes to keeps the fans waiting in suspense. He will probably announce it on the Megadeth forums before he does anywhere else. People were making threads about the Roadrunner rumours and the System Lords were deleting them. There has been no other rumur of another label. I would say the Roadrunner deal is legit. We'll all see in due time anyway. I'm almost more concerned about Gigantour!

Jev 05-16-2006 04:27 AM

I think it's a give-away if they're deleting the threads then.

eug008 05-16-2006 04:41 AM

The Megadeth signing to Roadrunner is now official, check the Megadeth Site. And Daves finalizing the G2 lineup so it shouldn't be long now before we know what bands are on the list. I think Dragonforce will probably be cause they are no longer going to be playing on the "sounds of the underground" tour.

For Immediate Release

ROADRUNNER RECORDS SIGNS MEGADETH

New York , NY - Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the signing of Megadeth. Already known as one of rock's most forward-thinking bands, Megadeth and its frontman Dave Mustaine have cast a long shadow on the metal and hard rock landscape with millions of records sold worldwide and an undeniable influence echoed in scores of young bands today.

"We are proud to be working with one of the chief architects of modern hard rock and metal: Dave Mustaine. Megadeth and Roadrunner have led parallel careers on the cutting edge of metal for years now. The combination of the two is bound to be lethal," says A&R man, Mike Gitter.

Mustaine says of his new home "It is exciting to be some place you are respected, understood and appreciated. The truth is there's a lot of people I've known there over the years. I'm stoked we're all coming back together again to work on this project."

Megadeth has begun work on its as-yet-untitled Roadrunner debut under the watchful eye of Mustaine and co-producer Jeff Balding (who helmed 2004's The System Has Failed) .

Mustaine is presently finalizing the lineup for Megadeth's Gigantour 2 festival tour of the US .

Jev 05-16-2006 04:45 AM

I wonder how many albums they signed up for.
I can't see Megadeth doing another 8 albums.

Mother 05-16-2006 04:51 AM

I think we are near the end ... I cant see megadeth past more than two albums.

superdigg 05-16-2006 05:59 AM

so what's everyone actually think of the roadrunner deal? roadrunner seems to have several bad bands, i hope they don't influence megadeth too much.

Jev 05-16-2006 05:59 AM

Imagine Dave on the next roadrunner united...

eug008 05-16-2006 06:01 AM

Opeth got signed to them and they didn't change their music.

Mother 05-16-2006 06:16 AM

I doubt megadeth will change ... If they do then i will be very dissapointed.

Huber 05-16-2006 08:45 AM

Roadrunner wont change Megadeth. Dave Mustaine would eat them first.

Drone 05-16-2006 11:03 AM

Haha, Huber that actually made me laugh. Here is what Shawn Drover said about the deal in his very recent post:

"So now it is official, we have signed with Roadrunner Records, which for me personally is something that I am very happy about!! These guys specialize in Metal bands, and have done so for over 25 years now, so with that said I believe this will be a long and solid relationship between Megadeth and Roadrunner."

I don't think there are going to be any problems, and the promotion for Megadeth's new album will help them a lot!

WeezerTool523 05-16-2006 11:05 AM

I doubt a label would change the music they make. The only time Dave changed music for others were when Marty and Nick wanted to make risk more alternative.

Rattlehead 05-16-2006 01:52 PM
I think we are near the end ... I cant see megadeth past more than two albums.
i can! \m/
Roadrunner wont change Megadeth. Dave Mustaine would eat them first.
absolutely. Mustaine is to stubborn to be influenced. which is a quality.

Drone 05-16-2006 03:16 PM

Well, I think he was a little influenced by Lars when it came to Risk. The man is not perfect, but I agree with your statement for the most part and I do admire him for it.

Jev 05-16-2006 04:44 PM

How did Lars influence Risk?

heavy metal kid 05-16-2006 04:48 PM

I think Risk was influenced by the band itself, Marty Friedman was searching for "this" new sound, he got bored of metal.

So I have this strange feeling about MD and RR records, i just hope none of the bands of the label make it to Gigantour, except Opeth and Machine Head.

Chu 05-16-2006 04:53 PM
So I have this strange feeling about MD and RR records, i just hope none of the bands of the label make it to Gigantour, except Opeth and Machine Head.
lol

FatalEnergy 05-16-2006 05:01 PM

Yeah, I am more concerned about Dave's choices for Gigantour 2 being effected by the new label, not the quality of his music.

Jev 05-16-2006 05:04 PM

Hmm. I never thought about that. It'll be interesting to see if RR influence Gigantour at all.

Drone 05-16-2006 06:27 PM
How did Lars influence Risk?
Lars said in an interview around that time period that Megadeth is a good band, but they don't take any risks. The rest is history.

Friedman influenced it even more, but Dave's obsession with Metallica and his desire to prove Lars wrong in this situation still shines through as part of Risk's foundation.

Aw3someman 05-16-2006 06:57 PM
so what's everyone actually think of the roadrunner deal? roadrunner seems to have several bad bands, i hope they don't influence megadeth too much.
*cough*DragonForce*cough*

Yeah they do have some crap bands like Opeth and some of those emo/Hot Topic related bands.
