lol is now essentially a grammatical particle that does not necessarily indicate that something was funny
it's like how Cantonese people say 啦 a lot
what does that character mean? |
i've decided I should probably listen to Aphex Twin since I never have before (apart from Come To Daddy of course)
|
Oh hell no this didn't get bumped off of the front page....
- yes listen to Aphex Twin - |
I shall.
I had a nice moment with Front Line Assembly's Artificial Soldier earlier. |
yeah i've always meant to get into aphex twin all my hipster freinds said its real cool
|
I put off listening to him for those very reasons i've decided it's a pretty silly way to approach things sometimes.
|
Sometimes.
|
hype can lead to disappointment
|
Usually.
I don't know the dumb hipster types aren't always wrong, they told me about Flying Lotus and it turns out he's pretty cool |
I only listen to stuff that has less then 100 plays on last.fm
|
I only listen to Severed Heads and that Pink and Yellow EP with the girl with pink hair and vampire fangs on the cover
|
I shall.
I had a nice moment with Front Line Assembly's Artificial Soldier earlier.
Yes, Artificial Soldier was a great return to form. You know that they're in the process of working on new Delerium and FLA albums; right? There's actually already a single floating around for the new Delerium. |
That I had no knowledge of. I'll be checking out more of their stuff i've missed out on though.
|
Can anyone rec me stuff like the industrial/noise outro to Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines (song)?
|
the percussive elements remind me of Einstürzende Neubauten, they sound a lot more restrained though
I would like more stuff like this as well |
thats kinda tough
something that comes to mind is Z'EV - Heads & Tales hmmm might also try Nurse with Wound - Homotopy to Marie |
Z'ev sounds about right actually, come to think of it.
Metaphonics? I can't remember that album at all actually :( |
Sweet, I'll give Z'EV a try today. Thanks bros.

--- Can anyone think of ambient-shoegaze that's more instrument based, like Have A Nice Life, Velvet Undergrount, Alcest etc. |
whisper room's birch white and bethany curve's skies a crossed sky
|
wait do you mean not a lot of vocals or do you mean more emphasis on guitars and not electronics?
|
whisper room's birch white
awesome album. |
yeah i thought he meant instrumental shoegaze but if he wants electronics-less shoegaze then thats not the album for him
|
wait do you mean not a lot of vocals or do you mean more emphasis on guitars and not electronics?
Kinda this. Bands, or dudes, that make ambient music but using live instruments, rather than synth-based stuff. |
Oren Ambarchi
|
im going to assume youve already got ride - nowhere
the daysleepers - the soft attack bethany curve - skies a crossed sky (still) flavor crystals - ambergris and for a noisy one get cosmicdust - snow noise assemblage and for a heavily shoegaze influenced metal record check out wolves in the throne room - malevolent grain |
get to kill a pretty bourgeois - patron too
excellent shoegaze album |
Thanks, you sexy manbeasts.
