There's only a few people I know who even nearly like the same music as me, but in different genres.
I can talk abot radiohead for a while with some people, and Sonata arctica with others, You know? |
What about Drudkh? Hate Forest? Dark Throne?
:( |
Mayhem are pretty much the only Black Metal band I have the time for, I do like selected songs from others though.
Mayhem was good for maybe one or two albums. Their old stuff is classic but everything since then I really can't stand. I prefer the symphonic stuff to the really kvlt stuff anyway, so I'll take Emperor over them any day. |
Slipknot? I would never been seen listening to Slipknot.
I can stand a song or two by them. They've got a fairly good drummer.
Mayhem are pretty much the only Black Metal band I have the time for, I do like selected songs from others though.
I'm not a big Black Metal fan at all. I don't even have any on my computer.
Eh it's like you have to listen to nothing but metal, especially the unknown bands to be tr00.
Sounds very close minded. |

That they do! No one around here has ever heard of them except my dad and my bassist and only because of me. They're playing in Virginia and I want to go really badly. They're amazing So I'm thinking about starting a radio show when I go to college and I'm listening through a lot of my music and so much of it I can't play on the radio :upset: |

Yeah, the only ones who have heard of them are my mates after telling about them. |

It's interesting though because I told him about one song and sent it to him and he fell in love with them. If only more people heard of them they'd become a lot bigger. |
Slipknot? I would never been seen listening to Slipknot.
I don't remember referring to you in particular. Hooray for your Emma Watson avatar, though. Basically, I only talk about music to my best friend and my girlfriend, who both have a very similar taste in music, mainly because I have brainwashed them. |

Im not closed minded or ignorant about music or anything, Its just, theres only about 3 bands I listen to regularly. But all this will change once I go on My chrismas vacation. This is what I intend to buy : Episode - Stratovarious Peuritanical Euphoric Misanthropia - Dimmu Brogir The Legacy - Testament Ghost Reveries - Opeth One BG cd, not sure which Thats all for now. Plus the ones Im getting at christmas. |
I like Sonata Arctica. Much of their stuff is upbeat almsot to the point of sounding gay, but I like it. Good cheesy power metal.

Yeah, it's a shame really because they're a fantastic band and deserve to get big. |

Basically, I only talk about music to my best friend and my girlfriend, who both have a very similar taste in music, mainly because I have brainwashed them.
Let's see, I've brainwashed my girlfriend into recognizing Metallica, that's about it. She can't stand Trivium, CoB, SA, Iron Maiden, even Black Sabbath or really Led Zeppelin (well she likes a good handfull of Zeppelin) :upset: It's ok, as long as she likes Classic Rock. |
Slipknot? I would never been seen listening to Slipknot.
Screw the lot of you, I like Slipknot. They are especially good live.
You should by that one Blind Guardian album. Troublegum, I think it's called. When they were still known as Therapy? <-<
Sneakiest. Post. Ever |
Screw the lot of you, I like Slipknot.
They are especially good live.
It happens. I used to love them but I grew out of it. I still enjoy listening to Vol.3 every once in a great while anyway. |

I really like Sonata too. Strangely, I don't much like Stratovarius at all, despite the similarities in sound. Happy - if your location is accurate, then you should be able to find some more Sonata fans at some time. They seem to play the Bloodstock (annual) festival with some regularity, in Derby.
Basically, I only talk about music to my best friend and my girlfriend, who both have a very similar taste in music, mainly because I have brainwashed them.
I don't really know anyone, brainwashed or not. I wonder what it's like. |

I never thought you would be! I love Weezer! Ah, she's a Therapy? fan. That helps. (I love Goo Goo Dolls too) My girl doesn't have a last.fm, but we're really similar in a way, like we both like Weezer, Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, and then stuff like Eric Clapton, Beatles, and some others
I really like Sonata too. Well, I shouldn't really say that, I have so much more SA than Stratovarius that it's not fair to judge (3 albums vs. 1) so when it randoms on this media player i hear so much more SA. |

I like everything Ive heard from them, which is minimal. And is why Im expanding what I listen to with them. Im trying to find some good PM bands, I should give a listen to Sonata Arctica.. |

They also feel very proud when they recommend stuff to me for a change. I taught them well. It's come to the point where I'm first on the RYM compatibility list of both of them and they're second on each other's list. This is when you know you have properly brainwashed them. |
I'm ashamed to say I've never heard any Stratovarius. How un-power metal of me!
Last.fm hasn't updated me yet. :( |
Well, i agree with Bartender, Stratavarious bores the living hell out of me, but i love Sonata.
Oh yes, and this is how great my weekend was. The highlight of my whole weekend was when they played Screameager in Echoes club, and i broke away from my emo fold to join the true rock fans in a Therapy? related dance. |
I won't show my week one because I was only at this comp for like 2 days. (Can you do last.fm for multiple comps?)

The intro to Chasing Shadows by Stratovarius is kind of a rip off of Metallica's Ride the Lightning. But yes, this is kind of boring. Who's their singer? |
