Will Paiste 2002 series fit for punk and will they mix with zildjian avedis new beat hihats??
Your namesake saw no problems with it when he was on tour with QOTSA, so I think it'll be fine. |
22" would be even louder.
That costs more though. When you change ride sizes, is it mostly volume thats affected? |
no way man. overall everything is changed. it would sound fuller, warmer, and pingier than its smaller sibiling.
i say check out the A. Medium Ride. the bright tonality would be suitable for rock oriented music, but its versatile enough to be used in just about any style. basically, its gonna be the most versatile ride ever in my books.
Thanks man i'll be looking into it very soon. Well now i've found another the A custom ping ride.(Between the A medium ride and the A custom Ping ride) Which is again more versitile but still a great ride for rock music? Thanks for all the help you guys P.S. Both cymbals are 20" |
I'm looking for a splash thats got a nice, mid piched sound... good quality, but affordable. Lookin' for one that would go good in a Alternative Rock Style(sound).
|
i thought 22" cymbals were washier, and 20" were pingier?
|
I thought heavier were pingier and smaller cymbals were faster. I guess rides aren't really fast though.
|
right now I have 14" AAXstage Hats, 22" Paragon Ride, 18" Vault Crash, and i am looking for another crash, what would would fit in with these
eventually i want 4 crashes so i was thinking the 17" and 19" models of the AAXplosion crash any thoughts? thanks brad |

nope. more metal content = more defined. Lookin' for a Splash cymbol... Nothing perfect, just good sound. Medium piched
|
Wuhan 12" Splash. Heh.
|
i always advise against these Xplosion Crashes.
Why? |
the sound like a punch in the face...not very pleasent.

A. Medium. nothing will top the versatility of that ride.
|
Sweet, thanks man i'll be sure to follow through with checking that ride out thoroughly.
|
i play funk/metal looking for good cymbals in the line of paiste.
|
i'd say Sig Full Crashes, 2002 Sound Edges, and a Sig Full ride if you can afford it.
|
I play hard, so i need thick cymbals. I want cymbals of all shapes and sizes. but for now im looking for a rock ride, two crashes, and maybe a china. i know sabian or paiste is the way to go, but any specific cymbals i should consider?

Hey
My b-day is coming up pretty soon here and I would like to upgrade my ride ( from a B8 Pro). My current cymbal line-up, minus the B8 Pro ride, is: 14" Sabian Paragon Hats 16" Sabian El Sabor Crash 12" Wuhan Splash 17" Sabian Vault Crash and 12" Wuhan China I play mainly classic rock but I would like a somewhat versatile cymbal. I also like loud, cutting bells. So, what is a good ride for me? Oh, no real price restrictions unless it is like a $400 K Constantinoble and I don't care what brand as long as it can be found at guitar center. |
the K Heavy Ride is a good one to look into....or on the brighter end, maybe an AA Medium-heavy ride,
|
Will do. Thanks!

Heh, any Zildjian As, Sabian AAs, or Paiste 2002 rides should work. |

maybe check out some medium wieght or heavier sabian AA's or zildjian A's. they would work quite well. |
Quick question on what cymbal you guys think would be a useful thing to get next.
I have... 16" crash (sabian pro) 18" crash (paiste 502) 20" ride (stagg) 10" splash (stagg) 16" china (zildjin zbt) and 14" hats (sabian B8) basically i was either thinking of a second pair of hats or maybe a 15" crash, Failing that i could upgrade my cymbals as some of them arent very good (china is ZBT, although that doesnt matter as i dont really use it as much as others), if i did upgrade i was thinking along the lines of sabian AA and AAX. Or i could get a second floor tom (either 14 or 18") |
new hats for sure.
|
Ok ill truse your judgement...
If i am going to get new hats i might aswell get them in a pack of 3 with a new crash and ride, kill 3 birds with one stone. |
that would be a good idea, but your better off buying them seperate.
|
i found a 18 in rude china for 80 dollars that i was thinking of going for, does anyone know how these sound?
|
that would be a good idea, but your better off buying them seperate.
why? i save money if i buy them all together |
