Fluff always bores me to death (so how is it possible i'm still alive? ;) ) and Who Are You.... It's just not 'Ye beloved Sabbath Style' i like. No guitars, only synthsizers (or whatever you English call them)... I don't like the sound. What are your own likes/dislikes, rippa32?

I know i'm gonna get flamed but though English i usually mean any english speaking peeps (so American, Australian and British) because im.... from somewhere completely else. Whatever. What do you think of TYR album?
|
im not really into them but some of there best songs i think are: the wizard, war pigs, and PARANOID. im really into Ozzy and i like there work with DIO

The TYR album is awesome. I remember listening to it 3 time sin a row when i first got it. And when it was finished I would look at my watch and think wow its been about an hour andi dint even realise. btw where are you from? |
Poland. TYR is great I think... Anno Mundi is... well... very listenable, so are the next two songs, then come The Sabbath Stones (i love it nearly as much as i love Children of the Grave), then the TYR trio... it's nice, but a bit more too power metal for me, then... ugh... and at last Heaven in Black. I love the drum solo at the beginning, i love the riff, and i love the lyrics. Its great as a whole song. And summa sumarum TYR is beautiful, putting together all that.

where do you get them all from? |
Wha?
Fluff is a beautiful instrumental. Really shows Tony's softer side of guitar playing.
im not really into them but some of there best songs i think are: the wizard, war pigs, and PARANOID. im really into Ozzy and i like there work with DIO
Dude, go back a page or two and read my dislikes list ;) |
i like fluff it is a nice change
i cant remeber who, but someone kept getting fluff by iommi confused with dee by randy rhoads |
They need a slap then.
Fluff > Dee. I'm going back to my geog coursework. |
so...
whats everyones opinion on sabbaths first album? |
/is back for a few mins.
Its a great album, rock solid throughout and is good to listen to. From the start of Black Sabbath when the bells are ringing to the end of The Warning after an amazing guitar solo from Mr. Iommi, you want to know how the managed to create such a masterpiece. (note: The Warning is a cover, orginally done/written by Ainsely Dunbar(I think thats his name)) Lyrically, its not their best - sure the lyrics of Black Sabbath, N.I.B and Evil Woman may stick in your mind, but they've had better songs lyric wise. With Blues music still being very popular in the early 70's, there's a big bluesy feel to this album. Iommi is at heart, a blues guitar player, but at the same time he's a riff-churning machine of doom and evilness. Pure genius. This may not be my fav. Sabbath album, but as a first release this album rocks. I'd write more, but my Geog evaluation needs to be done. |
*cough*OfficialBlackSabbaththread*cough*
Either Vol.4 or Never Say Die! Screw Paranoid up the arse.
See that last comment? I want to see how long it will be before I get n00b-flamed. |
BLack Sabbaths great, its awesome how they are so influenced by drugs. Geezer is a good bassist an i like his lyrics.
|
where do you get them all from?
Pawn Shops, Knife Shops, Flea Market, and SURPRISE..... Sword Shops. |
The self titled Sabbath album is great.
For anyone here who's only heard the usual Iron Man/Paranoid/War Pigs deal, get the songs A Bit of Finger/Sleeping Village/Warning ... if you want to hear some good lead guitar. Or even better, buy the album because it's really good. You wont be disappointed A lot of people might get pissed for me saying this but the Dio era of Sabbath is pretty ****ty... there are a few classics but the rest is pure crap. I could never get into Dio or his time during Sabbath. |
