What has happened to this thread? Come on people, its Megadeth!
So what do you all think of the remasters? I think they are great, except Take No Prisoners and Five Magics, which have terrible vocals now. And also I hate the horn section at the start of Into the Lungs of Hell. I wish he had left them out again.
I think the remastered version of "The Conjuring" rules. You can hear the tapping in the intro much better. I think they did a great job with the remasters, although I agree with you that they butchered a few songs. |

yeah my cousin is into darkthrone and alot of european metal. i don't really like many of the bonus tracks on the remasters though. the original risk album was crap and the remaster is just as bad lol. on the KIMB cd i turned a massive stereo all the way up and could hear stuff all lol. but the songs are awesome, like KIMB, chosen ones and rattlehead. |
Most of the bonus tracks I've heard are fine. But, I've only heard the Peace Sells, Rust in Peace, Cryptic Writtings and Youthanasia remasters, so I can't judge for the other tracks.

lol why oh why is there a spanish version of trust on the CW reissue i will never know lol. the RIP and countdown ones are good, and i love the KISS and Alice Cooper covers too |
OK...what happened was Hetfield and Ulrich were thinking that because of Dave's behavior that he was going to bring down the band, remember, before Metallica bought out kill 'em all that they were already stars in the underground. Hetfield, Ulrich and Burton got Mustaine up one morning and said your ou of the band, Mustaine was like "what, no warning, no second chance?. They took him and his stuff to the bus and just left him there. This hurt Mustaine, he even said it was more hurtful to him the watching his father die. He started Megadeth to get back at Metallica.
correction, hetfeild and ulrich not burton he was pretty neutral in the whole thing. mustaine liked him when he died he cried and was inspired to write a song. |
got every megadeth reissue for x-mas
nice! also, diamond head supporting them on u.k tour? awesome!!! |

I'm addicted to The Conjuring. I can't stop listening to it. |

Same here, It's definitly in my top 3 or 4 Megadeth songs, and somehow it keeps popping up on my playlists. I really like how the tapping and the voice are much more audible in the re-masters. |
Thats a great song.
got every megadeth reissue for x-mas nice!
Lucky. I only need Peace Sells But Whos Buying(Have it, just not remastered) and Risk. |
Gotta get me "Killing is my Business, and Bussine is Good", "Risk"(probably sucks) and "The System Has Failed", and then I have em all
|
Killing is my Buiness is a classic. I'm afraid to buy Risk from what I've heard.
|
I wouldn't buy Risk, although if you're a big enough fan to buy all the other albums, it's probably a must. There's a few half decent songs on the album, but it's not really Megadeth.
|

Get Killing is My Buisness first. It's excellent. |
I have risk... to me, it's a total dissapointment. I really dislike it. I almost bought the system has failed. My friend let me borrow it a while back... but I wasn't sure if I really wanted to spend 15 bucks on it. It's okay cd, but I'll wait to buy it when the price goes down. Or just borrow and burn it. I should have done that in the first place.
|
Yeah risk was pretty sad, but there are a FEW okay songs. I have it just because I had to get all their albums.

I actually liked TSHF. I thought it was an improvement over most of the stuff since Countdown. That's just my opinion though, because I wasn't a huge fan of Youthanasia. |

I agree, TSHF is a great album. I listen to it almost everyday. |
When The System Has Failed first came out everyone was going on about how good it is. Now everyone seems not to like it
|
I like it to. Youthenasia has a few good songs on it.
I liked a few songs, but the only ones that really stood out for me were "Reconing Day", "Train Of Concequences", and "A Tout Le Monde". I only really liked "Train Of Concequences" for some of the riffs. I also noticed that people were going on about how good TSHF was when it came out. Now it seems like people are over the novelty of the idea of a new Megadeth album that sort of "returns to the old days". |
Family Tree, is probably my fav. track on Youthanasia, I don't know why, but I think that's one of the best tracks on there.
