FASSW is more like really generic deathcore to me.

heyimsheep1 10-03-2005 10:42 PM

Daughters, CURLUPANDDIE, Napalm Death, Discharge, Charles Bronson, Wolfbrigade

RIvegan 10-04-2005 07:07 AM

Daughters, discharge, charles bronson and wolfpack are not grind

RIvegan 10-04-2005 07:07 AM

i meant wolfbrigade but its practically the same thing

Scabies 10-04-2005 01:02 PM

so has this thread just turned into people naming grind/crust bands they like?

whiteminority 10-05-2005 11:26 AM

instead of everyone naming the grind/crust bands they like how about we have some worthwhile grind/crust discussion.

what is everyones favorite grind/crust record label? (this is not worthwhile discussion i know.) my favorites would have to be relapse and earache.

MILF Hunter 10-05-2005 03:47 PM

Profane Existence put out some quality crust stuff..Dont know too much about grind though

RetiredAt21 10-06-2005 06:05 PM

Earache is my favorite I guess.

This is a really dumb question, but do you guys prefer grind bands that down tune, or grind bands that use the normal tuning? I myelf prefer grind bands that don't down tune, it forces them to be a little more creative, rather than bands that down tune usually just thrash on open chords trying to sound heavy. But Pig Destroyer and Agoraphobic Nosebleed still rule.

this is true. i like both styles equally.

Scabies 10-10-2005 02:30 PM

I don't think i can really choose a favourite label, since theres so many and loads of them only have a few releases on them. Profane existance and Active distro i do like though.

me rocking the discharge shirt: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=4267009&imageID=245983392&Mytoken=E94F572C-FCD9-41D3-817EAE8CDF6FD59D2411606890

AIRIC 10-10-2005 02:49 PM

Hahah, that screams myspace. But Discharge rule so it's fine.

Elaborate.

misfits_fiend 10-10-2005 03:10 PM

wow. i forgot about this site and haven't been here in ages..

for grind/crust.. i like lots such as black market fetus, ****... i'm dead, everyone i know must die, nasum, and whatnot.

and as for that question about tuning.. i think bands can be creative no matter what tuning they use, but a lot of bands these days, (not so much grind bands as nu metal or lamb of god type bands) use drop d style tunings to make playing easier. but anyways. i prefer standard tuning because thats just sort of the way that guitar was made to be played.. but lower tunings sound heavier. it can go either way.

Noiseterrorist 10-11-2005 08:09 AM

with tuning to me its all good. standard tuning sounds great but for my band i tune my whole guitar down REALLY low.

RetiredAt21 10-11-2005 12:23 PM

Daughters aren't grind at all. I like them, but there isn't really anything in their sound that is grind. They are a Locust rip-off band, and WAY over-use the whole "start-stop" thing. They're alright, I like them, but they definitely aren't grind.

whiteminority 10-11-2005 12:29 PM

alright guys i need some crust bands to listen to as im more of grind person and have heard just spare amounts of crust here and there. any bands mentioned will be appreciated. :thumb:

They're my favorite grind band. Cheers to J for introducing them to me.

The Cripple Bastards album on GPG is ace.

Edit: I'm listening to old Locust EP's and they're really good. Without all the weird synth.

Edit2: Only Follow The Flock, Step In Shit. I thought Well I'll Be A Monkey's Uncle didn't use synth, but I was mistaken.
