Well, Shane (the new guitarist) tabbed out the first minute or so on Powertab. The rest I found on some geocities website, but I have the link on another computer. I'll give you it next time I'm on it. It's still missing 3 or 4 parts, but I can play 95% of the song.
Isn't shane from Evelynn?
Yes. So is one of the other guys. The drummer, I believe. And then the other Evelynn guitarist (I think) is in As I Lay Dying.
I prefer detuning to 8 string guitars. God the band Meshuggah is so horrible.
Rockin. Thanks man. Don't they played down 1.5 steps though. I don't like detuning. It's tedious.
Yeah, but it's so fun to play after you detune. I usually tune down and then play nothing but BTBAM and Dead to Fall for a couple hours. It's in C# Standard. |
i would just like to say thank you for writing this thread, its one of the best ones i have read in a really long time. everything was basically 100% correct.
I consciously write metalcore in standard tuning to make it so I have to use my ability to make everything powerful and intense. I find it's more challenging and yields more interesting songs. Granted I may not be as good at my instrument as the guitarists in Between the Buried and Me, I think I can write some good songs.
I think it is best to write in standard tuning, unless you are in a funk of writing either nothing or very similar stuff. |
Then you switch to weird tunings, like DADGDG.
I'm equally untalented and uncreative in every tuning, so it doesn't really matter for me.

I'm in the same boat you are. At least when I try to write hardcore songs. :upset: |
I'm the same. when it comes to writing hardcore, the stuff i make is basically straight-up hardcore since i suck at being creative.
Power Cords. Thats all I ever use.
I think I might be seeing DEP tomorrow night, if my ride pulls through. *is excited*

You got it you fool. |
Nah, that was the one thousandth post. If you look at the link to the thread in the punk forum it says 1002 replies.
*confetti*
This man is the winner you fools.
You go by the little number in the top right of your posts. Looking at it form the main forum it has the 1st pirst as 0, which makes no sense.
The first person had the original post. There were 1000 replies. Wait, why are we arguing over this?
Because it's hardcore to fight.
Haha, I forgot.
Anyone like Kill Your Idols? Are they hardcore? |
Man, no Dillinger Escape Plan for 40 tomorrow...:(
Haha, I forgot.
Anyone like Kill Your Idols? Are they hardcore?
Yes, KYI are hardcore. I don't particularly like them. |
I like kill Your Idols. I find them to be very good.
