Yeah that was it!

Beneath The Massacre aren't deathcore, correct, get over it, let other discussion continue.
I just recently read an interview(in Terrorizor or Unrestrained a couple months ago) in which they specifically talk about "being at the forefront of black metal" and "setting precedent for the genre". I'll have to look and see if I still have it...if I do I'll quote it for you. As far as Cradle of Filth go, they actually have repeatedly denied being a part of any genre at all.

As far as Beneath the Massacre goes, my point is that they don't have really any standout, classic breakdowns in the traditional sense; anything they do is subtle and overshadowed by technicality. So I really don't see it as being generic or uninteresting at all.
I think Dimmu Borgir are a bunch of flip floppers! lol You don't have to quote them, I believe you.

And with BtM I see what you mean with it not being traditional standout classic breakdowns. I guess I confuse having airy riffs with breakdowns. And yes they certainly aren't generic or uninteresting. They should be touring the US again soon, so I will certainly be seeing them again soon.

Anyone like As Blood Runs Black?

And as these nails, are driven into my hands,
You will say, that you dont know me,
With such conviction, and as the masses gather,
Willing me to die, just remember I am with you As he was with me.
And with this final breath,
I will scream out why have you forsaken me?
I served my purpose,
I lived and died as you commanded...

With Blood Comes Cleansing seems to fit into this genre.

They are pretty good and simplistic at the same time.

Necrophagist!

big80smullet 12-22-2007 10:27 AM

Ugh they suck.

I just decided that The Annihilation of Expectation is friggin awesome. The Scars of Ages is a little limp-wristed but is still good.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:29 AM

Scars Of Ages is supposedly exactly what Tell Her I Said Goodbye (basically TTEOTD in high school) sounded like, and then afterwards they wanted to bridge away from that sound.

I love both tbh, but the vocal display on The Annihilation is so amazing.

http://byfn.blogspot.com/

Search for The Red Shore on here, awesome stuff.

masscows 12-22-2007 10:32 AM

Yeah dude. Anthony's vocals on Annihilation of Expectation are pretty incredible, he does things that I can't ever imagine being capable of and he puts so much frustration/anger into it.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:34 AM

I've tried screaming along with Truest Shade Of Crimson on so many occasions, I lose my breath about half-way through though... so intense lol.

I can do Abyssal Creation and Erratic Perception pretty well though, so I'm happy.

I really like the mid-range metalcore-ish vocals that Anthony does.

masscows 12-22-2007 10:36 AM

I really can't do highs at all except for Dani Filth-esque inhale screams (which Lord Worm does sometimes, so I can use them as filler). Everything else I try sounds either too gay (like screamo vocals, which don't fit) or hurts too much.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:38 AM

Well, the technique for a shriek like Gunnells is pretty much just inhale directly across your soft palate and the top of your throat going kind of like YAI.

masscows 12-22-2007 10:39 AM

is that why he sounds like he's speaking with an asian accent sometimes?

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:40 AM

Yeah, he mostly gets that tone from his inflection... and goddamn that tone is awesome.

Dimmu Burger 12-22-2007 10:48 AM

Anybody like As Blood Runs Black?

masscows 12-22-2007 10:50 AM

Not I

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:51 AM

They have a few good songs, and a lot of really boring songs.

Dimmu Burger 12-22-2007 10:52 AM

With most deathcore bands being pretty generic, they stand out a tiny bit. I enjoy them.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:56 AM

But they're like the most generic one imo. And not really deathcore either, but this thread's probably the best place for that scene.

Dimmu Burger 12-22-2007 10:58 AM

I guess because they are the first deathcore band I got into it makes them stand out to me. But for real, which deathcore band can anyone name that is original? Really though, I am curious.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 10:59 AM

The Red Chord, Dead Man In Reno, The Red Shore, etc.

masscows 12-22-2007 10:59 AM

hells yes

Dimmu Burger 12-22-2007 11:00 AM

Hmmm...I guess I hadn't looked at them as deathcore(the Red Chord), but I can see that. Anyone else?

EDIT: owned by your edit, I am robots, lol

i am the robots 12-22-2007 11:00 AM

I don't know how I forgot to list them.

NP: Like A Train Through A Pigeon

Animosity's kind of original for a deathcore band.... Ion Dissonance... Despised Icon was doing it a while before most bands, same with Velvet Dawn and In Death We Rise.

Dimmu Burger 12-22-2007 11:02 AM

What is The Red Shore like?

i am the robots 12-22-2007 11:03 AM

They're sort of in the same vein as Dead Man In Reno, more ambient melodic stuff, but really brutal parts too.

I forgot, Veil Of Maya is one of the most unique sounding deathcore bands.

I think I may download those 3 bands when I get a chance.

And Ion Dissonance is the shiznit.

Oh and dude you certainly edit a lot!

I looked and you edited every post on this page, lol.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 11:15 AM

Haha... I put more thought into posting when I'm sober.

big80smullet 12-22-2007 11:24 AM

are the black dahlia murder deathcore? cause they have some of the things listed. and they have the odd breakdown.

meh, I put them under Melodic Death Metal on my iPod. =)

And Robots, you could put that thought into it before you hit the "submit reply" button, lol.

i am the robots 12-22-2007 11:30 AM

I probably could, but who cares OTHER THAN FAGS LIKE YOU.
are the black dahlia murder deathcore? cause they have some of the things listed. and they have the odd breakdown.
Their demo's were deathcore, but they're really just melodic death.

big80smullet 12-22-2007 11:31 AM

i dont really care i just wanted to know if i could pot about them in here. They are really cool. Probably one of my favourites

i am the robots 12-22-2007 11:39 AM

Yeah, the Black Dahlia Murder is pretty damn awesome. One of my faves too. :-*

To stay on topic, Burning The Hive is one of the best deathcore songs ever.

And the breakdown in their cover of Paint It Black is rofltacular.
