I got to listen to Dark Side Of The Moon in my painting class on Thursday. That was cool. When "Time" came on my friend was like "what the hell is with all these bells?"
lol DSOTM was my first Floyd cd and I remember thinking the same thing when I first heard that track.

Doctor Night 11-12-2005 04:05 PM
Last Few Bricks - Empty Spaces with some Run Like Hell.. It's cool.

What Shall We Do Now - This song is in The Wall movie. It's Empty Spaces stretched with more lyrics, I personally love it.

Master Of Ceremonies.. No idea on that.
But it says they do 'Empty Spaces', then 'Last few Bricks', then 'Run Like Hell'

I knew that it was to wake me up from that entrancing sequence before the track. Anyone heard of Dark Side Of The Rainbow?

Which reminds me, on Thursday's bus ride to school, I was listening to DSOTM, and it synced up with the bus ride. Some examples where, one kid was late for the bus, so he was running after it, but missed it anyways. This happened when the lyric 'And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking.' but then, as I turned around, I saw that there was another bus of the same number just pulling up as the lyric 'And racing around to come up behind you again' came on.

Further down the road, when one kid got on the bus, exactly as he stepped into it, Money began playing. Turned out this kid didn't have any money to pay his fare. He didn't get off the bus until the song ended. At the exact same time.

It freaked me out.

Yeah, it was. It didn't really hit me until I got into the school though.

magicbus 11-12-2005 04:30 PM

Livewired, these Floyd songs you uploaded are pretty sweet.

Crumbling Land almost reminded me of a CSNY song (the vocals mostly).

You first.

By the way, essays don't have chapters.

skynyrd73 11-12-2005 05:15 PM

Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorite bands. I love all of there work, but mainly from Syd- waters departure, after that ahh down hill in my opinion. I love all of there work from that time. From there populars such as DSOTM and The Wall, to albumbs like Oscured by Clouds, witch is a popular album but i dont believe gets notices enought as it should. I also love Final Cut, even thought some floyd fans will fight saying it was more of a waters solo album they a floyd album, i do disagree. My favotire song would have to be Dogs, the lyrics are mind blowing. My favorite line would have to be, "you have to be trusted, by the people that you lie to, so that when they turn there backs on you, you get the chance to put the knife in.." woohoo that makes me just want to rock out, then the sweet guitar solo afterwards just adds to the intensity, what a great song. If you ever need to have 17 minutes go by fast just turn on Dogs! and guys..kind of random, but dont click my links cause Liberi edits them out.

My avatar features Neil Young, with his right leg crossed over his left playing his old Martin D-28 which actually used to belong to Hank Williams.

He has been reported.

Yer. Thanks Liberi.

magicbus 11-12-2005 06:16 PM

I like how "Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up" is almost identical to "Careful With That Axe, Eugene". I love that song, and it's sweet hearing a "different version" of it. Also on the making of DSOTM dvd, I remember Roger talking about how the director of Zabriskie Point just wanted "another Careful With That Axe". It's kinda funny how that's what they actually gave him :p

DeusExMachina 11-12-2005 06:20 PM

I haven't had a chance to listen to any of those new tracks yet. I should.
I want to get that DSOTM DVD
I didn't even know there was one. How long has it been out?

DeusExMachina 11-12-2005 09:15 PM

Awhile, I'm pretty sure. I saw it last christmas.

Broken Arrow 11-12-2005 09:32 PM

The making of DVD?

I so, I have it.

Glad you guys like those songs.

DeusExMachina 11-12-2005 09:34 PM

Listening now. They're cool.
Awhile, I'm pretty sure. I saw it last christmas.
Oh ok cool. I'll have to pick it up when I go to get Pulse.

DeusExMachina 11-12-2005 10:15 PM

Pulse is awesome. Also, I still insist that the Gilmour Acoustic DVD is pure genius.

Jim 11-12-2005 11:16 PM
Anyone heard of Dark Side Of The Rainbow?
Yeah! I tried it the other day! Pretty vague though, only a couple of things worked and it was pretty inconsistent. When "Breathe Reprise" started though it was cool. He sings "Home - home again" when she starts running back home. The clocks in "Time" also started exactly when the witch is first seen on her bike, coming to take Toto away. There were other little things, but overall I want my 45 minutes back.

By the way, I love your user name! Come-on-fwqhgads!

magicbus 11-12-2005 11:53 PM

The bells on Time/bicycle was really the only thing I noticed also. I wasn't very impressed with the whole thing.

Jim 11-12-2005 11:58 PM

Pretty anticlimactic ending also, someone told me the fading heartbeat was supposed to coincide with Dorothy putting her ear to Tinman's chest. Nup.

Jim 11-13-2005 12:05 AM

If anyone's interested in trying "Dark Side of the Rainbow", this site is helpful.

There are several theories on how to achieve the "effect", but all are pretty much the same. :thumb:

DeusExMachina 11-13-2005 12:09 AM

I wasn't too happy with it. Whatev.

Ephemeral 11-13-2005 01:43 AM

I thought it was cool the first time I did it.

Did you play it again after the Cowardly lion comes on? Same as at the beginning, after he roars for the third time. I dunno, it worked well for me.
