i'm going to see nofx, alkaline trio, me first and the gimmes, the peacocks and peter pan speedrock tomorrow. Should be good.
lucky cun't. NOFX and the Peacocks are great live bands, and Alkaline Trio are pretty good too. I need to see MFATGGs.

Is this that festival you told me about?

cbmartinez 09-01-2005 12:01 PM

Ariadne and Catwar play the most amazing shows ever. So does Marigold.

yeah, that's it. Dillinger four were supposed to be playing to but they cancelled. I hope nofx are going to be playing at least 90 minutes though, i hate it when the headlining band only plays an hour.

Skidmark Steve 09-02-2005 06:59 PM

NOFX and The Gimme Gimme's are on tour together? Fat Mike must be struggling

CommieCanada 09-02-2005 11:37 PM

One time I got to be a bad guy and fight the aquabats in concert. I started talking to the bassist of the first band that played (Time Again), and he asked me if I wanted to come in the back and be a bad guy so I did. My friend has footage and I'll post it when I get it.

hey, you're not cory! 09-04-2005 02:41 AM

REAL_FOB/TBS/BN_FAN 09-05-2005 02:08 PM

Bands I have seen and grade: Story of the Year in Dallas :B, Fall out Boy in Beliville, Illinios (before they got big):A, Taking Back Sunday in Dallas( John Nolan):B+, Taking Back Sunday(Fred):B, Warped Tour 04 and 05 in Dallas:A+, Aklaline Trio in Dallas:A, Sounds of The Underground in Dallas: B except for Norma Jean i give them a C: Rage Against The Machine in Dallas- A++++++

Best Show Ever Ive Seen: Fall out Boy in a hole in the wall in Bellvile. The place was falling apart and it was about the size of a litter box, but there guys rocked it like it was a freaking arena show. My cousin got hit in the face by Pete's bass like 8 times we were so cramped. This was about a month after Take This To Your Grave came out and only people up north new how good this band was. I went up there to visit my cousins and see a show, who new i would be watching one of the best pop-punk bands to come around in a long long time. I feel a closeness to that band now that i wish others had instead of bandwagon fans, but then again i kno there are true fans out there who just didnt get the oppurtunity that i did

DepthsOfDreams555 09-05-2005 02:15 PM

Dude almost every single post you make has something to do about how you have liked Fall Out Boy before they got big.

EDIT: Also, you gave Story of the Year a B, really? I wouldn't think they play a very good show.

i liked story of the year live

REAL_FOB/TBS/BN_FAN 09-05-2005 02:26 PM

I know, its just becuase im sad to see them get so big. You dont have a band that you knew from way back when that is big now and you just want let everyone know that you were there for them before all that. Ill cut down on it but i gotta let every Know that i am a forereal fan and not a bandwagon jumper

O and ya SOTY did alright live, thats y they got a be. I wasnt expecting a good show either

Oz Rembrandt 09-05-2005 02:30 PM

Hmm... Who the Hell have I seen live?

Green Day, Bad Religon, The Darkness, Dropkick Murphys, Bouncing Souls, The God Awfuls, Foo Fighters, FFAF, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Spunge, Whitmore, Iron Maiden, My Chemical Romance, NoFX, Anti - Flag, Hatebreed, Razorlight, Incubus, Marilyn Manson, Turbonegro, Capdown, Million Dead, Fightstar, Bullet for My Valentine, Queens of the Stone Age, Death from Above 1979, Yourcodenameis:Milo, Kings of Leon, All American Rejects, The Offspring, Blink 182, Lostprophets, Auf de Meur, Ash, The Distillers, The Hives, Taking Back Sunday, Goldie Lookin' Chain, 5678's, The White Stripes, New York Dolls, Franz Ferdinand. REAL_FOB/TBS/BN_FAN 09-05-2005 04:22 PM

THRICE!!!!! i cant forget Thrice. Even though i already said Warped Tour, Thrice deserves recognition on there own. I didnt think they could pull off there sound live and make me love it like i love there records, but they did and they were amazing. Warped Tour 05 in Dallas had to be the second best concert event ive ever been to. IMO

probably one of the best shows i've been too. You were right about nofx and the peacocks, both were great. You should definetly get around to seeing me first and the gimmes, they were awesome too. I don't like alkaline trio that much, but they had some ****ing nice looking girls in the pit :naughty:

Drop The Baby 09-06-2005 11:48 AM

I would be seeing MFATGGs in a couple of weeks but they've cacncelled pretty much the rest of their tour as Mike's going to spend some time with a family member who's struggling with cancer.

I'm seeing Alkaline Trio in mid November so i'll definately check out* the girls

You've got to pretend to be lurched forward with arms out and cupped, and once contact is made you've got to turn round and scowl at the nearest person behind you.

Then repeat

;)

Mute Print 09-07-2005 02:37 PM

Here is a short review of thw show I went to last night:

Whole Wheat Bread - These guys were impressive. They had a ton of energy and their set was a lot of fun. The crowd seemed really into it, and it was overall a good time. If you've never heard of them check out my thread. Trust me, these guys are really talented.

A Wilhelm Scream - I love this band, and they put on an awesome show. They're incredibly good musicians, and they're really intense. The only downside to their set was that very few people seemed to be real into them. The crowd was actually pretty calm considering the energy of the music. I managed to get the setlist from the stage when they were finished playing, but I can't make out what a couple of the songs are, but here are the one's I can decipher (in order):

"Killing It"
"The King Is Dead"
"Famous Friends And Fashion Drunks"
"The Soft Sell"
"Catharsis For Dummies"
"Me Vs. Morrissey In The Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)"
"Mute Print"
"The Rip"

Catch 22 - I've only seen a couple of ska bands, but I'm starting to believe that ska shows are some of the most fun. Catch 22 put on an incredible show. The band and the crowd had a lot of energy, and it was really a great time.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-07-2005 02:50 PM

I can't believe the crowd didn't have much energy for Wilhelm dude I wouldve thought the crowd would've been so intense.

Mute Print 09-07-2005 02:52 PM
I can't believe the crowd didn't have much energy for Wilhelm dude I wouldve thought the crowd would've been so intense.
I thought it was going to be crazy, but it really wasn't. I was at the stage, and only a couple people around me seemed to know any of the words, or even have any interest in the band. The pit was pretty small to, and it really wasn't that intense. It was disappointing.

Hopefully when I see them with Pennywise (October 2nd), the crowd will be better.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-07-2005 04:05 PM

Man, that sucks well when I think about it if I was hangin with my friends and I put some Wilhelm Scream on they probably wouldn't know what it was, but I figure most people at the show would've been in the pit.

Mute Print 09-07-2005 04:21 PM
Man, that sucks well when I think about it if I was hangin with my friends and I put some Wilhelm Scream on they probably wouldn't know what it was, but I figure most people at the show would've been in the pit.
I thought that the music was intense enough to start a big pit, even if the people didn't know who they were, but I guess not. I think a lot of the kids were only there for Catch 22.

DepthsOfDreams555 09-07-2005 04:25 PM

Well thats gay, especially if they don't they should it least show some respect for the other bands and if they knew what they were doing they should be listening to them they are a great band. I bet it was still a kick *** show.
