I like Coheed and Cambria. I think that the guitarist is preaty good. My friend turned me on to them a few months ago.

i reckon they are awesome

Well, I'm going to take a guess and say that you're talking about Claudio, when you mention the "guitarist" becuase he sounds more promenant in the songs. On that not: FYI, Claudio is also the singer. Try to imagine yourself playing some of that stuff he plays while singing. Especially in Everything Evil. :thumb: |
They're one of my all time favorite bands. Plus they come up with very catchy music.
|
Ok. ive decided my fave song by them is "Blood Red Summer"
|

Not only that but they're trying something new with the more progressive elements they add. The story is also a wonderful idea that creates an overall 'experience'. To me they are the perfect example of why Simple Plan are an awful band. |

:thumb: I just always think of 2113 when someone mentions thier progressive elements. Parts of that song seem completely 70's, and faint of heart is 80's to the maxx. Yes. With 2 x's.
Try to imagine yourself playing some of that stuff he plays while singing. Especially in Everything Evil.
I cant. I get a headache trying.
Ok. ive decided my fave song by them is "Blood Red Summer"
Good choice. 1.when did you make this choice....... 2.......and why? |
Last night listening to the album with it on, i found that song stuck out and appealed most to me. Dont get me wrong the rest are good, but i found i liked that most.

Ahh, i see now, thats where ive seen coberts avator before. In the lyric book.
|
Ahh, i see now, thats where ive seen coberts avator before. In the lyric book.
Well that avatar represents the "keywork", which is the universe in which the story is set. Basically the 7 circles are seven planetary systems, and the 3 lines are a type of energy generated by power generators that keep the systems revolving and moving together. In SSTB Coheed gets turned into a monster and smashes apart one of the generators, which causes Earth to drift out of the system, hence all the dust clouds on the cover of IKSSE:3 |

Well, thats just speculation. What song exactly do you think he does this in? And i belive there are 76 or 78 planets in the keywork, and the energy field is called "the fence". |
Well, thats just speculation. What song exactly do you think he does this in?
And i belive there are 76 or 78 planets in the keywork, and the energy field is called "the fence".
Hmm I think it comes from the fact that he goes crazy in Delirium Trigger. I got it off the Co & Ca message board which I used to be a part of. I think that we know turns into a monstar, and the earth is covered in a dust cloud, that we assume he must've. Yeah giving rise to the line "Would you run past the fence?" I think that's an allusion to Claudio having to undertake a great adventure to correct things. |
Yeah, makes sense. I knew earth was out of the keywork, but i never even thought it was because of coheed. What do you think IKSOSE, cuts marked in the march of men, and 3 evils are about?
I know its claudio seeing a "dreamed reality", and one good idea was that he was seeing a battle happen through his uncle jesses eyes. Jesse is being tortured in 3 evils, after being captured in CMIMOM ("here take me instead"). |

My opinion: (Noone except claudio knows the truth) IKSOSE-3 evils are a dream yes, the scream at the end denotes claudio waking up at the end, but the dream did happen, so I agree there. IKSOSE is a battle including Jesse yes, but he actually has things called "I-robots" that do battle with him. From what I've been told Travis is the name of one. He falls in love with a human girl (Chase) and he fights to protect and save her. My email is stevenjameswood@hotmail.com add me to MSN messenger and I'll talk more in detail? |

And when the line "were coming home" is said, jesse is telling everyone they wont survive the attack. Also, i dont have MSN and prefer to keep conversations on MX. Thanks anyways. And why is jesse being tortured? is it to keep where claudio is a secret? and did coheed kill his kids (or just josephine)? So many questions. |

One of Jesse's army. He falls in love with an earth girl because robots have emotion by this time. IKSOSE is about the battle itself with references to travis being in love "For you I'd do anything" "For you my love I would kill him" Him being Will, the evil Earth president. Cuts marked continues the battle and has more references to this: "The one you had loved in dreams is here amongst the others" "Chase it's you I want" "I'll hand myself over for you" "Deliver a favor for my love" Basically, these lines also show that Travis is captured NOT Jesse. If we apply this to 3 Evils as Travis the robot being tortured we see evidence of this: "I'll fix him restore him" - You can rebuild a robot but not a man "Malfunctions" - robots malfunction, not men. He is being tortured because Claudio has gone into hiding, and they want to know where he is because the bad guys know Claudio can stop them. Further evidence that is Travis not Jesse that has been captured is that the song Blood Red Summer is a conversation between Jesse and Claudio. Yes Coheed killed his kids, part of turning into the evil Monstar *cough*rep for all this*cough* |
Repped.
Yeah, i thought it was someone else being tortured. And i knew about the conversation in blood red summer, also. Oh, you forgot about "in the lsat hour stand" referring to the battles peak. And i think travis will be a big part of the next album, seeing as "i, robot, will never die." Actually, thats a great ending. Will is now a marked man by travis' standards. |

It is a really good ending, although I'm not sure about his role, I think the line "folowing you across the interstate walking away" shows that they let Travis go and he's being spied on, in the hope he'll lead them to Claudio, and that he may be Claudio's undoing in the end, or he'll become so powerful and be Claudio's saviour as "i, robot, will never die" suggests. |
Thats along the same lines as what im thinking.
Now, SSTB was harder to Understand. did coheed just kill josephine, or also maria and matthew? And where was claudio, or why wasnt he killed? |
Thats along the same lines as what im thinking.
Now, SSTB was harder to Understand. did coheed just kill josephine, or also maria and matthew? And where was claudio, or why wasnt he killed?
He killed all three yes. Claudio was there but Cambria told him to run and he got away. "And she screamed Claudio, dear Claudio" "Would you run" You're right SSTB is a lot harder to undersdtand in my mind, possibly because Claudio was developing his skills as a song writer/stroyteller still, and he's got better at it for IKSOSE:3 |
Yeah. Makes sense now. and why exactly did coheed kill them? is it because they might also have the monstar?
|
Yeah. Makes sense now. and why exactly did coheed kill them? is it because they might also have the monstar?
Right this'll be my last post because I have an 8:15 lecture tomorrow. You can't "have the monstar" the monstar is what Coheed turns into when he turns evil. As I understand it, it's kind of a prophecy that a son of the Monstar will save the world (like why there was the slaughter of the Jew's first born in real life) and so part of him being evil is to kill his family because they may be able to stop him. This would also explain why Claudio has to go into hiding, because it is common knowledge he may fulfil the prophecy, and so anyone working for the bad guy (Will) would know to kill him. Good night and thanks for the rep and interesting discussion |
No, thank YOU.

I hate Coheed and Cambria, they are excellent musicians, and i wouldn't mind them at all if they were to have a different singer. He is so annoying to me....

To be fair he does say "the singer is so annoying to me". That is his opinion, we can't criticise him for someone's voice not appealing to him. Now, if he had said "OMFG Claudio can't sing at all like the guys in GC", then we would have had a case. Plus, he does say they're excellent musicians, so he's not completely flaming the band. Although I have to admit coming in here just to say you hate them is bound to generate some controversy. |

I bet that guy won't even come back here. Yeh. |
Im not gonna flame him for that. Alot of people say the singer is annoying, but he also saif they were good musicians. Meh, meh.

Meh, Meh...How does that sound? Wait, I'll ask you as you are next to me, but ill be a dummass and post this anyway.

The sinstar cannot be removed since it is in their bloodstream, and unlike the Monstar virus, it needs no fluids or counterparts to make it an active thing. All that is needed is for the bearer of the Sinstar to reach their 23rd birthday. |

thats what i thought, then steveconygre said that its impossible to pass down the monstar  . I agree with everything else he said, except i thought he was killing them to stop them from becoming the monstar, er, sinistar or whatever. But where di you hear about the sinistar at? I remember that just as an old game in arcades. |
Ive only heard Favour House Atlantic and that song kicked ***. :thumb:
|
Get the CD, in keeping secrets of silent earth: 3. Thats a good song and all, but its one of the worst on the album.
