So I post that right before I go to the coffee bar and guess who was working there. Crazy lady. I'll let her know about this sex thing.
If you do that I'll have her tell the rugby team you have crabs, and then you won't be Mr. Popular anymore!

Nyah!

Really, it's because of your aviator sunglasses.

And because you pick words like "continuum."

Everyone ready to start voting? its been a week

jurialmunkey 01-11-2005 12:55 PM

Well the people in San Fran are famous for their crabs.

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 01:44 PM

votes??????????///\12486

pixiesfanyo 01-11-2005 03:11 PM

Wait till the end of today, I want to post a song.

pixiesfanyo 01-11-2005 06:25 PM

Just kidding, this word blows.

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 10:52 PM

lol well then votes it is

jurialmunkey 01-11-2005 10:58 PM

Voting thread is where??

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 10:59 PM

Working on it.

jurialmunkey 01-11-2005 10:59 PM

Oh wait... sorry, I just realised you posted that about 5 minutes ago.

*is awaiting voting thread*

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 11:02 PM

Ta-da.

There's an inside trick to voting, if you get it, don't say what it is please, and vote for who you're supposed to.

super deluxe 01-11-2005 11:20 PM

I DON'T GET IT

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 11:21 PM

That's because you weren't here for the last challenge to see what a certain idiot did.

Read through the entries and then read through who you have to vote for. Then totally shut the hell up.

super deluxe 01-11-2005 11:26 PM

Worst idea EVER.

Who do you think you are, pixiesfanyo?

jurialmunkey 01-11-2005 11:29 PM

Hey. It worked last time. Vikingcore/Eleventeen (or whatever his name is) was stupid enough to donkey vote.

But it would have been better SD, if you used an entrant that posted a "researve" spot but didn't post a song.

On another note: Are we taking Hypocrasy Hater's song seriously?

super deluxe 01-11-2005 11:31 PM

On another note: Are we taking Hypocrasy Hater's song seriously?
No, because someone who can't spell their own username...

jurialmunkey 01-11-2005 11:48 PM

...is stupid?

SubtleDagger 01-11-2005 11:53 PM

Unfortunately, I am taking HH's song to voting.

By the way, I'm doing that trick from now on. It's a good idea.

ATC 01-12-2005 03:56 AM

good lawd, you kids and your new-fangled ideas of fair play...

toddcotham 01-12-2005 02:29 PM

Shit! I finished my song last night and my internet went down. Next time its on bitches!

-is there a chance I could get an extension just long enough to copy and paste due to computer problems?

SubtleDagger 01-12-2005 02:44 PM

No.

PS We have another user who fell for the trick this time, proof that it's working.

EMO4LYFE 01-12-2005 04:30 PM

well yeah, it was pretty obvious when he voted HH's song #4, lol

xKONRADx 01-12-2005 04:53 PM
well yeah, it was pretty obvious when he voted HH's song #4, lol
STFU NOOB

d0ped0g 01-12-2005 05:33 PM

lol. i kno who the trick person is... and i'm not telling :D
i say you do it two ways, nxt time add the name of a regular who didnt write a song, and take the name of somebody who didnt aswell

btw, just in case you didnt realise. The image of hell perpetuated through my peice is an extended metaphor.

jurialmunkey 01-12-2005 06:03 PM

If you take the name of someone off then they just wont get voted for. Everyone will be confused on whether or not they were DQ'ed or something and it wont really prove anything other than that the person missed that song.

jurialmunkey 01-12-2005 06:08 PM

Woohoo! Eleventh place from the idiot voter. Lucky those votes don't count. Do we have to vote for his/her song? If we do, they will be getting a last place from me. If someone can't be bothered to vote properly on my song then I'm not going to do it for them.

SubtleDagger 01-12-2005 07:32 PM

No, vote normally, and when voting's done we'll just bump up whoever is behind him by taking him off the ranking list.

Don't vote improperly on him, by the way. There obviously is a worse song in this challenge.

Sever 01-12-2005 08:57 PM

No one understands the meanings of my songs. EVER. :(

I hate having to explain them all the time.

RunAmokRampant 01-12-2005 09:09 PM

Sever. Don't worry too much about my crits yet. still got about a week to fin so ill try my hardest to analyse your piece. I've got some ideas on what your trying to achieve in your song although Im not clear on it

jurialmunkey 01-12-2005 10:54 PM
I'm guessing this song is about somebody just on the verge of death? Am i right? Anyway, absolutely amazing song.
Thank you for your compliments.

Nope. Its not about someone on the verge of death at all. Its more cliche than that.. Don't you just love how I critise everyone for being cliche then always write about cliche topics myself. Haha. I just write them so vaguely and just a bit off-center. I tend to wander off-topic into language and images that don't really have any purpose other than to express a certain emotion I'm feeling.

Oh my song topic is so cliche. Its about me breaking up with this girl I was going out with. Its about me being torn between thinking "Wow, this girl is wonderful" and "What the f.ck am I doing? I'm just using her" and "But she can deal with it, its her choice" and "I'm still not over my Ex" and "Can I get someone better? Is there someone better?" and etc. etc. and stumble into confusion.

But really, just like always, I'm mostly just writing about how the subject makes me feel rather than the actual subject. Therefore this leaves the piece open to alot of interpretation, like always, because I leave it so vague. That's pretty much my goal; just to write an abstract piece that emotes the feelings that I explore as I think about a subject. My mind's complicated and messy and confusing. I don't understand much of what I write myself... who cares about what it means? It must have a subconscious meaning somewhere or else I couldn't have wrote it and I wouldn't be happy with it.

*is rambling*

jurialmunkey 01-12-2005 11:04 PM

^^Actually I'm not even sure if that is what I was writing about. I don't even know what I was writing about really. Just a collection of ideas and feelings loosely based on the break-up.. but.. not really at all. Who knows? I don't know.. do you? (Ignore the little voices...) Maybe I should give all my writing to a phsyciatrist and see what they say.. Maybe they'll freak out and explode into a green goo puddle. Who knows? I don't know.. the Queen (Um.. yeah, ignore that..)

*has completely lost the plot*

super deluxe 01-12-2005 11:37 PM

Hmm...

That's weird; it's the same way I write my songs. I know what the topic is, but to other people it seems entirely different because I write more about how it makes me feel than about the literal events.

Plot is overrated.

d0ped0g 01-13-2005 01:00 AM

only recently have i found myself writing to a set theme or plot or whatever
alot of my earlier peices may have been artistically better, but some were even completely enigmatic to myself. I need reassurance to myself that what i write actually relates to something, so i constrict myself... probably abit too much.

d0ped0g 01-13-2005 01:03 AM

and :O jurial... i spent so long deciphering your peice (well, not really, but i spent more time on it than the others) and i was SOOO sure that that was what it was about :/ (despite the lines "This is a hopeless pop love-song record. Crushes all the kittens; into boxes." which i didnt know how they would fit into the peice. And "A pupate red liquid gravity black well. Cut the tails off the dogs; don't look pretty." which i didnt know what the **** it meant)

ATC 01-13-2005 06:16 AM

heh yay, i got my first last place rating. (that i can remember). i'm getting good at this.

d0ped0g, dude, i'm not overly mysterious when it comes to songwriting. its a pretty simple theme, plot and all. i'm big on plot and setting, and other assorted things.
just about a guy finding love, which is the head over heels(chorus) but constricting(verse) kind, and then wanting to get out, knowing anything he does will ruin whatever they've created together(bridge). i bet its happened to a lot of people, not just me.
people look for love for themselves, but when they do, they find its more than them, yada yada yada..the whole cliche romance thing. finding the way love actually goes isnt the way its in the books etc etc.
i should turn off the temple of the dog i've been listening to all week. a similar theme's in a song off that. aside from two words, there is no other similarity but still, i likey that song..a lot. beautiful lyrics. i wish i'd written it.

anyone other than dopedog is to ignore all this.
*MIB memory erase thingy*flash*

ATC 01-13-2005 06:28 AM

d0pe, dont constrict yourself if it isnt your original style.
write the art way you used to, keeping in mind a vague theme if you need to, and then chop and change to the music. works for me.
randomly inserting vague images, however, is overdone and boring. its cool now, so eh, ignore what i said.

ps: runamok, ever heard the song 'lotus eaters'? check it out. my favorite band, nevermore. they've employed the lotus imagery for the purposes of a concept album about losing a love to a cult.
