Someone else on this Earth has heard of the Cows.

.
I could never find any songs by them anywhere. So I gave up on them.

I hope I'm not missing out.

incubliss 04-13-2004 02:12 PM

my album of the week has to be.

Gomez - Split the Difference

this album is great, but although i don't find it as good as In Our Gun, it's still a great album. worth your money definately. i have also been listening to...

(Faith No More - Angel Dust
Codeseven - The Rescue
Incubus A Crow Left of the Murder
Janes Addiction - Strays)

...lately, they are all great albums, and i love each one. i have only recently started listening to Codeseven, and they are a brilliant band, and people should get hte songs;

Give it to us
Danger
Sounds of Cyan and Magenta
The Rescue

anyway, that's all from me.

br3ad_man 04-13-2004 08:13 PM

Holy Jesus! I just got into two incredible bands...one is called "Ozric Tentacles"...they are an amazing prog/experimental/space-rock band from the 70's. The other one is "The Tea Party"...a friend let me listen to their latest cd, and it's phenomenal.

neal_672 04-14-2004 10:19 AM

I've been listening to a lot more RATM and also the von bondies and the delays

br3ad_man 04-14-2004 05:28 PM

Yesterday I bought

Zwan- Mary Star Of The Sea
Jeff Buckley- Grace
Green Day- Warning
Moby- Play

Zwan was the most refreshing thing I've heard in ages, it was especially nice to hear Billy Corgan singing without his whiney voice (although I like his whiney voice). I'm listening to Jeff Buckley now.....anyone else have any of the other albums?

Can are an excellent band. They had some seriously badass grooves!

AK47 04-14-2004 08:02 PM

I too am listening to Can, and I enjoy it. Also I am getting into The Pixies, I bought Doolittle a while ago and never got around to listening to it...I did the other day, and wow.

Also, my freind lent me the new Modest Mouse, which I am listening to right now, as I type this out in a very un-important class.

Tomahawk 04-15-2004 10:30 AM

At the moment I'm listening to a lot the Cure, mainly the album "Disintigration". The song "Fascination Street" is so great. Also I've been revisiting my love for the Pixies, because I got their B-sides album.

Irish Nostalgic 04-15-2004 11:41 PM

Lately I've been listning to the Best of John Lee Hooker.

fantastic man, fantastic music.

grungeguitarist 04-16-2004 02:32 AM

This thread has greatly increased my musical vocubulary, thanks.

br3ad_man 04-16-2004 05:56 AM
You are a lucky, lucky boy. I remember when I first fell in love with this album.

Get Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk next, its a 2cd collection of his demos, ranging from basic 4 tracks to full band demos. Grace was the only album he ever completed. Then get the Live At L'Olympia album, he's great live.(Or perhaps Live at Sine É - the only one I dont have but am impressed so far).

Fascination Street is among my fave Cure songs too, its amazing.
Cheers for the advice. It's an awesome album, I'll be reviewing it soon.

To Irish Nastalgic: John Lee Hooker is a great blues artist, one of my favourites.

el doctor 04-16-2004 10:07 PM

Lately I've been listening to Asobi Seksu. They're a semi-local band from NYC with some experimental influences, electronic sounding beats, and hard riffs. For a lack of better words, they just have a cool indie sound.

Master Arkam Kannon 04-17-2004 10:25 AM

Avalanches
Starlight Mints
African Tribal Music

OPIV 04-17-2004 05:10 PM

andrea 04-17-2004 08:15 PM

I'm in love with ben folds
holy ****, he is amazing

Doctor D. 04-17-2004 11:29 PM

I've been listening to The Residents alot lately, and today, after not being able to find a singl e CD by them, I found a DVD of all their videos, with alt. versions of each song. It's really amazing. They are the weridest of the werid.

StreetlightRock 04-18-2004 04:55 AM

Combat 84 - average Oi/skin sorta band. only actually like two songs, the rest sound sorta the same.

DVG.

Natattack87 04-18-2004 11:11 AM

Yeah, I'm definitally into Metric...their song "Combat Baby" kicks major ars!

i'm a huge fan of moby's play cd. blues/electronica/ambient techno stuff. there's some really good songs on there.

"inside" is probably my personal fave.

Jomabe 04-19-2004 01:44 PM

Been listening to 'Broken Social Scene' lately, something like 10 members...intense...not too hard though.

Also, 'Sensefield - Dreams, 'The Shins - anything off 'chutes too narrow' and 'The Dismemberment Plan - first anniversary of your last phone call' - all great indie

Jomabe 04-19-2004 01:48 PM
^^ How come all the new people on Alt. and Indie are cool, but all the Rock and Metal ones are stupid? I love this forum.
Yea, seriously you're right br3ad. I'm new here, been checking out a lot of threads, and it just seems like everyone's chill...no assholic behaviour like on punk boards...guess good music taste brings good moods :thumb:

faceless name 04-19-2004 06:30 PM

starflyer 59 ... i'm rediscovering an old love
for newer stuff...
ester drang (the amazing new indie band that drones me to sleep every night)
dead poetic
eisley
the rocket summer
haste the day
all good stuff, for me at least.

_Chip_ 04-20-2004 07:35 AM

The Pixies - Doolittle (album)
Nirvana - Bleech (album)
Muse - absolution (album).. still listening to fairly often, my fave album of 2003.

All very good albums. :) I remember the first time I listened to Grace. Such an amazing feeling, I actually just downloaded some old studio performances last night on STG.

Lately I've been listening to Spoon more than usual.

JonM 04-20-2004 01:05 PM

I'm addicted to The Notwist's Neon Golden. Such a beautiful blend of technologically advanced electronica and primitive, unidentifiable stringed instruments. This album and The Postal Service's Give Up are stuck in my head more than anything that I can remember ever was. It's just the perfect combination of music that would sound great on its own and beautiful vocals delivered by unconventional voices.

Tangy zizzle 04-21-2004 08:45 PM

At the moment I have a bad craving for Led Zeppelin.

*Puts Remasters in the player*

Craving fixed!

br3ad_man 04-22-2004 04:28 AM

haha, I need to listen to Zeppelin sometime, haven't listened to them for months.

BWD 04-22-2004 06:24 PM

Muse. I Really like the song 'Running Out Of Time'. I just bought absolution. :thumb:

LoveBuzzed 04-23-2004 08:31 PM

Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society is pretty much all Ive been listening to lately. His mostly acoustic album, Book of Shadows, is ****ing awesome as well as his heavier stuff like Sonic Brew and 1919 Eternal.

br3ad_man 04-24-2004 12:30 AM

I'm listening to The Cure and I've also been pulling out my old Nirvana cds. I recently bought the Coldplay DVD, Singles Collected by R.E.M., Frogstomp by Silverchair and Pocket Full Of Kryptonite by the Spin Doctors (The las two only because they were a really good price)

Tangy zizzle 04-24-2004 12:35 AM

I got The Jesus Lizard EP today. I'm quite stoked with it, I'm pretty sure it's quite hard to come by. It's not an overly-good release, but it's an alright listen.
