I think Doug had delusions of grandure. Anyways, do you think anyone would be able to tab those guitar riffs? That would be very, very cool

nubtub 03-12-2004 10:08 PM

I liked Mr. Boner or whatever his name was, yodeling band better. And Ventruck, what a great guy....

YDload 03-13-2004 10:29 PM

It's "Mr. Bone" and "Fentruck," smart guy! Where do you think the legendary MXer got his name from?

bassistsfingerbetter 03-14-2004 01:05 AM

Dudes the greatest Nickelodeon shows in the 90's were:
Doug
Rocko's Modern Life
Salute Your Shorts
Hey Dude
Pete and Pete
Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air(i know it wasnt on nick but still)
GUTS
Legends of The Hidden Temple
Clarrisa Explains It All
What Would You Do?
Wild and Crazy Kids
Saved By The Bell(i know it wasnt on nick but still)

Zmev 03-14-2004 04:01 AM

^ Yes Nick was quite the thing back in the 90's

I miss those days

The Cameo Role 03-14-2004 07:53 AM

You would be right bassist, but you forgot Ren & Stimpy.

Back to you MO! [/end GUTS reference]
No if, ands, or buts!

mattiecore 03-14-2004 09:23 PM

oh lordy! my Nickolodeon years were wonderful....

i remember when Disney bought the rights to Doug (i assume that's how they got control) and made it absolutely terrible.
but still, Skeeter, and Patti Mayonnaise, and Roger, hahahaha, man i miss that show..

but then there were also all the other shows:
-Ren and Stimpy
-Rocko's Modern Life
-Rugrats (before it sucked)
-Ahh! Real Monsters
-Pete and Pete
-Clarissa Explains it All
-Salute your Shorts
-Hey Dude!
-Wild and Crazy Kids
-Legend of the Hidden Temple (the one with the 4 competing teams, all differently colored, and the giant rock guy. i don't know if that name is correct)
-and there was one other cartoon one that i can't remember the name of....

slim thugga 03-15-2004 12:09 AM

Yeah you got LOTHT name right....

Moroii 03-15-2004 11:18 AM

Oh, the nostalgia. I feel an urge to write an emo song now.

The JoZ 03-16-2004 03:46 PM

I think we should write Nick and tell them to bring the good shows back...the sh*t they have on their now is saddening...

The Cameo Role 03-16-2004 04:26 PM

My little cousin was singing a combination of Good Charlotte's "The Anthem," the Rocket Power theme song, and something else. It's sickening. When I was his age, I was beatboxing to Doug. Werd.

Ah! Real Monsters! rocked as well. Nick started their downward spiral when Disney got Doug and made a movie of it. Then, the Rugrats movie came and that was the nail in the coffin. Also, a significant turning point in Nick is when they started using a different way to show you want was coming up next. It used be like a cube that would spin.

Also, they still show Rocko when they run a commercial/thing that says coming up next. It has alot of characters including Doug and Rocko in the background, it creates such false hopes :(

Vietnow 03-16-2004 04:39 PM

Bringing back great memories

SavestheDay7432 03-16-2004 11:30 PM

Stick Stickly

I dunno guys, If theres one thing i really miss about nick, it's stick stickly. He was awesome. I mean, a frikkin popsicle stick hosted Nick for years. What could be more amazing than that? They gave him his own MOVIE. Man those days were awesome.

o yea... i havn't heard anyone mention Weinerville... That Socko guy was awesome.

Zappa 03-20-2005 11:27 AM

When is Pete and Pete coming out on DVD?

EDIT: After I typed this post, I went to Amazon with basically no hope, and did a search. The answer is May 17!

pixiesfanyo 03-20-2005 11:43 AM

Oh shit. Really?

Zappa 03-20-2005 11:45 AM

Yes. They're putting out Clarissa, too. The guy on the Amazon reviews urges everyone to purchase them, because if sales are good more shows will be released. I'd be happy to own Welcome Freshmen and Rocko's Modern Life.

pixiesfanyo 03-20-2005 11:50 AM

Rocko's Modern Life was my reason for living from 5 - 8.

AAAAEEEOOOO KILLA TOFUUUU! ...YES... THE BEETS! remember when roger clotz made fun of doug for not being at the beets concert... but tne doug MEETS THE BEETS!!! that one rocked!!

Electrocution 03-20-2005 06:20 PM
the best song on doug was the one doug and skeeter made it was like..
bangin' on a trash can
drummin' on a street light..

^^ not sure if that's right..but that song kicked all sorts of *** ^^
Shiiiiit nigga, I remember that song! So catchy.

leiferikson 03-22-2005 05:55 AM

Doug = legend. I fancied Beebee so much. Im sure Porkchop was the prototype for Brian from Family Guy. I dont think anyone has mentioned these Nick shows - Are You Afraid of teh Dark? Count Dracula, Where on Earth is Carmen San Diego, Hey Arnold, Alex Mack. Ah, i wanted to be on Global Guts sooo bad

Zappa 03-22-2005 02:01 PM

WoEiCSD was on public TV, as I recall. And I don't belive I've ever heard of Count Dracula.

NeverUndone 03-22-2005 03:14 PM

I know you mentioned the Pete and Pete theme was by Polaris, but the title is "Hey Sandy" if anyone was looking for the song.

Also, I wanted Clarissa so bad when I was like 6. That Sam kid who came in through her window on a ladder must have gotten some serious *****. How I envied that kid.

Also, does anyone remember Nick Arcade? You like played SNES and Sega Genesis games against each other and then if you win you get put in some ghetto video game. That seemed so hi-tech at the time...

Zappa 03-22-2005 03:53 PM

Nick Arcade was really cool, but I remember having trouble catching it whenever it was on.

That's a terrible thing to say about Clarissa.

YDload 03-22-2005 04:06 PM

Hey, someone bumped my awesome thread!

Zappa, can you edit out the fake signature/advertisements in that guy's posts? Annoying.

pinkyeti 03-22-2005 04:08 PM

I don't know any of the shows mentioned in this thread, except for Doug.

mr_jackalope 03-22-2005 04:16 PM

I think I might pwn everyone in this thread. I OWN Polaris's (the pete and pete band) tape. I got it from sending in like 10 UPCs from some cereal. Three tracks: all killer, no filler.

A Goonie 03-22-2005 05:10 PM

i just got one thing to say, this thread rocks, The Beets are cool

pixiesfanyo 03-22-2005 05:44 PM

I think Count Dracula was the sesame show amirite?

Electrocution 03-22-2005 06:50 PM
I think Count Dracula was the sesame show amirite?
yeah, urrite (I got it, yesss)

Pete & Pete on DVD! It's released two days before my birthday. How convenient

I remember Stick Stickly's area code was 10108. He would always sing the address.

Sigh.
I think Count Dracula was the sesame show amirite?
No no there was this (kinda) serious live-action show about Count Dracula in which he was head of some eeevil mega corporation. It also had Van Helsing as an old man but he was helped by his niece and nephew i think. Can no one else remember this?!

Shizzle, the kids tv showed that ruled all others was The Odyssey. You know with that boy who was in a coma and he was in some wierd dream world but it was also kinda linked to the real world in some way. I cant really remember. Im not sure if it was on Nick though

Anti-Prefix 03-22-2005 07:49 PM

This is the best band ever! No, really the show is so amazing. My favorite show of all time.

And I hate TV.

I so totally recite that from time to time. Awesome that you remember it, too.

Aramis 03-22-2005 10:41 PM

Ughhh I miss this show to death. . .they no longer play re-runs of the show on Nick anymore; but if anything, it's extremely rare. For a fictional band, their music was great as been mentioned several times already. Actually, lots of songs from "Doug" were so catchy and easily got stuck in my head as a little kid.

I especially enjoyed that one song from Doug and Skeeter about "banging on a trashcan" or something. . .I think it was the "Think Big" song.

llama1600 03-23-2005 06:17 PM

doug was the ****, anyone who wants the songs click here:

Killer Tofu
I need more allowance
shout your lungs out

Radiobass81 03-24-2005 08:53 AM

I remember nothing of "Salute Your Shorts"...

I rememberm ost Beets songs. They always reminded me of the Beatles; in the end, they also broke up for stupid reasons.

"Or e-mail me at nick.com" ;).

Anyone remember the huge Rubber Band ball? Or the bubble gum thing they used to do?

EDIT: Was the rubber band for his birthday? I think his mom gave it to him or something...
