Walking Desecration is win

I really enjoy Animosity, Knights..., Glass Casket, Whitechapel, and FASSW. I also enjoy Beneath The Massacre a lot and As Blood Runs Black, Born Of Osiris, Carnifex, Despised Icon, The Irish Front, Here Comes The Kraken, Khann, and Success Will Write Apocolypse Across The Sky. Yes I went on a deathcore tirade a few weeks ago.
Well fuck you then.
http://www.myspace.com/adifferentbreedofkiller
Pretty good band. I refuse to have Despised Icon mentioned here again. They are ****ing awful. |
Well fuck you then.
http://www.myspace.com/adifferentbreedofkiller
ill add them then as for despised icon, they've got some alright parts, but for the most part they're the most boring thing ever. |
Alright, the list is updated!
|
...They're metalcore though.

Beneath The Massacre isn't deathcore. |
So why talk about them, thoughts on Velvet Dawn?
http://myspace.com/velvetdawn Vocals are kinda raw but they were doing it a bit earlier than most of the gay bands like them now. |
Beneath The Massacre isn't deathcore.
I guess I tend to lump them in there because the BtM t-shirt that I have says Montreal Deathcore on it. And if you listen to the music it has way too many breakdowns to not be called something-core. |

Intestine Baalism is my favorite something-core band. |
I hear no breakdowns in BtM. I've never heard any breakdown in thier music. I don't know what the **** everyone is talking about.
LOL
Oh, I just listened to Whitechapel again and they're pretty ****ing horrible. |
I used to think that too, then they sort of just clicked with me. They're pretty awesome.
|
Why the **** do they think they need 3 guitarists? Two of them play pretty much the same thing and the other one is playing the same thing with them half the time.
On top of the fact that they can't write a decent riff and the drumming is sloppy as hell. The vocals aren't even brutal, they're like "yuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". Ugh. |
I don't hear sloppy drumming at all. :\
|
Why is everyone all over Whitechapel's nuts all the sudden? They aren't even good.
|

uhh, the one's filling in for the one guitarist who hurt his hand. |

And how many times have Dimmu Borgir Recently called themselves black metal? What a band calls themselves means nothing.
Most of their palm muted power chords are done in a very breakdownesque style. I'm listening to them right now. It's chugga chug air chugga chugga air and so on. And for the record, I read a lot of Dimmu Borgir interviews and they go out of their way to say that they aren't a black metal band. They call themselves an extreme metal band. Even though the Revolver magazine cover has them, Cradle Of Filth and Behemoth and says "Black Metal Christmas" lol.
uhh, the one's filling in for the one guitarist who hurt his hand.
True, the one that hurt his hand just recently left the band permanently so he could recover. I think it is a recurring problem. |
He messed up his hand in a motorcycle accident, I'm pretty sure.

Yeah that was it! |
Beneath The Massacre aren't deathcore, correct, get over it, let other discussion continue.
|
 @ this fred
im drunk. sup |
I just recently read an interview(in Terrorizor or Unrestrained a couple months ago) in which they specifically talk about "being at the forefront of black metal" and "setting precedent for the genre". I'll have to look and see if I still have it...if I do I'll quote it for you. As far as Cradle of Filth go, they actually have repeatedly denied being a part of any genre at all.
As far as Beneath the Massacre goes, my point is that they don't have really any standout, classic breakdowns in the traditional sense; anything they do is subtle and overshadowed by technicality. So I really don't see it as being generic or uninteresting at all.
I think Dimmu Borgir are a bunch of flip floppers! lol You don't have to quote them, I believe you. And with BtM I see what you mean with it not being traditional standout classic breakdowns. I guess I confuse having airy riffs with breakdowns. And yes they certainly aren't generic or uninteresting. They should be touring the US again soon, so I will certainly be seeing them again soon. Anyone like As Blood Runs Black? |
And as these nails, are driven into my hands,
You will say, that you dont know me, With such conviction, and as the masses gather, Willing me to die, just remember I am with you As he was with me. And with this final breath, I will scream out why have you forsaken me? I served my purpose, I lived and died as you commanded... |
With Blood Comes Cleansing seems to fit into this genre.
http://www.myspace.com/withbloodcomescleansing They are pretty good and simplistic at the same time. |
