Yeah, stick disagree in there some where.

They pretty much got boo'd off supporting Blink182 this time last year.

fenderstratboy2 11-13-2005 04:15 PM

Now that they are no longer together, i doubt we will be hearing much of them on the boards. but in the meantime, i'd have to say to listen to the kinison

Ahhh so that was what they were called! When I saw blink in newcastle (this time last year) I remembered Blink, Sugarcult and one other band that no-one really liked.. Kinison it is.

They were ok, nothin' special.

If you check the pic of me in the pics thread, you'll see my red blink t-shirt...

Yeah dude, seen em live. Just rubbing it in for anyone who hasn't. So ner.

Oz Rembrandt 11-13-2005 04:33 PM

I have, Infact, it was the same gig.

Ross 11-13-2005 04:34 PM
Im gone of the whole Pop Punk thing im listen to more hardcore punk now
like Dead Kennedys,Circle Jerks,Black Flag,Minor Threat Ect...
i just bought a dead kennedys album and i was hooked
do you still like blink? cos youve stopped posting in there as much

Ross 11-14-2005 02:18 PM

^vote me, I'm feelin ya^

I had a period of more hardcore end punk, but its great to return to pop-punk once in a while. The music is a lil more fun and generally not so serious, plus its way easier to listen to :)

Ahh 1994...

Oz Rembrandt 11-14-2005 03:53 PM
Ahh 1994...
I still love a lot of the older ones, and there's a few newer ones that give me hope, but I know what you mean.

Ross 11-14-2005 04:34 PM
Now, theres absolutley no bands about that I'm particulally pasionate about...
Hmm. How do you define passion?

I'd agree though that there is a distinct lack of new music that is truly awesome. Oh how I'd've loved to be a teen in the late 70s... Punk, two-tone... yeaaahh.

That's too bad. The Kinison>>>Sugarcult

Mute Print 11-17-2005 03:21 PM

<3 Sugarcult.

I haven't listened to The Kinison much, even though I do have one of their albums.

Foxy Shazam!'s music has a maniacal, carnival-like dynamic that keeps you on
your toes throughout the entire album. They combine pummeling, heavy riffing and rhythms with more spacious fare, pulling in elements from the entire history of Rock music (from Metal and '50s to Punk and Surf).

Trust me, just listen to it - it's AWESOME! Off the top of my head it, this band reminds me a mix between Fall Out Boy, Blood Brothers, and The Cure (Sounds crazy? It is oh so incredibely crazy). You can stream their entire album, The Flamingo Trigger, on their Purevolume, and trust me, it's like nothing you've ever heard.

These guys are awesome. Although they're not necessarily pure pop-punk, they have a definite unique sound that is amazing.

Hard-Fi is awesome. They're Indie though.

I don't see how it's unique.

It's not bad, though.

Kif, you still never, ever cease to amaze me.

I am in love with this band now.

Baumer.

www.purevolume.com/baumer

I don't know how many of you actually listen to these guys, but I'm more or less obsessed with their album "Come On, Feel It."

They're on Astromagnetics, the record label Geoff Rickly co-owns. I don't know if you'd nessecarily call them pop-punk, but they're definitely something worth checking out.

They're very...Dancey. Almost Head Automatica-ish. Without the Daryl Palumbo spastic element.

clearvision 11-20-2005 03:12 PM
