Wait, what? |
That reminds me that I still need the Band's self-titled. I have the Last Waltz on DVD, and it rules a lot.
Have you watched the extras where there is that jam after and everybody is just sitting around playing and then there's Neil Young all coked up jump around and playing random notes? I like that part. |

I remember watching that. It was pretty cool. |

What a character. They show that on TV here all the time. |

I should watch that sometime. |
Wow, I didn't even see this thread.
Sup guys. |
Sup Simple Man.
Whats with the forum? It's like under consturction. EDIT-Neermind :( Anyways on the Last Waltz the Jam is Clapton(sitting on amps), Ringo Starr, Neil(going nuts) and like a roadie playing bass. |

It said the sever was down but its working again.
Maybe they just misspelled The Banned or something. Kids these days and spelling.
No, it's definently "The Band". And these lyrics:
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one. Who sent me here with her regards for everyone.
cleary show that they're saying "Take a load off Fanny" in the chorus. |
It's "Fanny". How can you kids not know the Band? They were Bob Dylan's backing band for a long time, and Big Pink is a classic.
Anyhow, sup Other Community Thread. |
Their s/t is also a classic.
|
I post in Other Music quite a bit, so yeah, how are y'all?
|

When they were touring with Dylan, and probably at Woodstock, people began to refer to them as "The Band". I guess something like "have you seen the band that's with Dylan?". And then it just stuck.
|
Hm, I'm thinking of starting my own Zorn collection sometime soon.

How extensive is his discography? Like 10 albums or 100 albums? |
There's probably more than a hundred, considering his countless collabs with all those other weird people.
|
Good luck.
|
This is a shameless plug for a homeboy of mine, but he's put some of his recorded music up on myspace, and if you're into quiet folk singer-songwriter stuff, a la Iron and Wine or Nick Drake, you may wanna check it out...
