i just got the Give em' the boot DVD. most of the rancid stuff sounded good...except for red hot moon. they ruined that one...

the maxwell murder solo in that was amazing...he added another 2 minutes of soloing onto it.
Matt also did that solo live a couple years ago when I saw him. He is so amazing.

fatwreckpunk 09-06-2005 12:48 PM

very good profile indeed, i was hoping for it to be a little longer

fatwreckpunk 09-06-2005 12:55 PM

i learnt the original solo, the live one he plays is just based up the higher frets, like white knuckle ride style, if you have a quick picking technique its quite easy, just make sure you play it all in the same scale

so anyone here feel rancid ripped off the clash? can you explain how, or in what songs ect

AIRIC 09-07-2005 08:11 PM

No. I've never felt that.

I don't understand that either. I love both bands and I have all rancid cds and not one song sounds like they ripped off of the clash. I only have the first 3 clash albums so I could be wrong but they are 2 totally different bands.

I'd reply to this, but I get banned if I post negative comments.

If you have AOL Instant Messanger, send me a message and I'll tell you what I think.

u should do these for alot of bands ur pretty good at it

Weezerfan_returns 09-18-2005 08:23 PM

Rancid is great, but i'm honestly kind of sad about Tim Armstrong. He's really gone down the ****ter in the last 5 years or so...

guns_of_brixton 09-18-2005 08:26 PM

The radio was playin' Desmond Dekker was singin' blahaadmafmspfsdfposdf HIIIILLL!

Weezerfan_returns 09-18-2005 08:58 PM

Apparently, I'm not. When I first posted this, I got repped for 10 points, now I'm -39 or -29 because of it. So, I decided I wouldn't be a productive poster anymore. I also kind of gave up on the forums.

Just because everyone picks on Rancid ain't no reason to get downhearted. It's a da'mn fine profile and if all these tree-hugging scum don't appreciate it then fu'ck em all.

azguitar92 09-19-2005 01:52 PM

wat a great profile, if only you could do it for a band that i liked...lol.

FightDaPowa! 09-19-2005 02:29 PM

Good profile.

I love Rancid punk or not.

smokersdieyounger 09-22-2005 05:35 AM

Was completely in love with them after I heard Rancid V when I was about 16, but I still like them even though I like less commercial bands, I still like the commercial punk I started on.

SynthesizedRudeboy 09-22-2005 04:09 PM

They played with the specials and hepcat....god **** I wish I could have been there

Buzzbomb 09-22-2005 06:39 PM

I like Rancid. They were the first punk band i ever got into. That was in grade 8. How do you check your reputation on this forum anyways?

RIP Ian Curtis 09-22-2005 11:00 PM

Awww man, I've got -25 points. Sad times have come once more.

i_am_zombie_jesus 09-23-2005 04:59 PM

They are all dying. You're dying. I'm dying.

Part of living is slowly decaying.

So yes. He is dying. But he was the second he entered this world.

atticus1315 09-23-2005 08:20 PM

sweet bio man.

rancid is my favorite band, i just love there blend of my two favorite genre's, punk n ska. u covered them well

and i never knew tims alcoholism was responsible for the way his voice was.

i must say, makes sense tho, cuz the slurring is obvious.. but i like it, sets him apart, makes him unique.. it does the band well.

oh and by the way, matt had surgery he aint gonna die... well he is eventually obviously, (see a few posts up) but hes doing ok.

AIRIC 09-24-2005 08:47 AM

Wtf Alchoholics Are Losers.

thekolonel 09-25-2005 05:41 PM

Rancid are fukcing awesome. I'm just waiting for them to come anywhere near Canada for a show so i can go and see them. The closest i have come is seeing the transplants at warped this summer and asking tim armstrong a question in guitar world through the dear guitar hero article (my name is Jeremy Laframboise). Can't wait for the new cd, i have all of the other ones except for their first one. Anybody know where i can find it in northern ontario, preferably around Sault Ste. Marie or Sudbury?

And Matt is an amazing bassist. Does he play bass for the Transplants? Because whenever you see pictures of the transplants you only ever see Tim, Rob and Travis. There is also another guitarist. Anybody know who he is?
