green day - welcome to paradise
blink182 - carousel
Welcome to Paradise is a guitar intro. You're gonna have to do better than that.

EDIT: Here are some more I thought of, just so I'm not simply flaming people.

Primus- DMV, Groundhog's Day
Iron Maiden- The Clairvoyant (Steve's lone bass-only intro)
Zombies- Time of the Season

Iai 08-31-2005 08:16 AM

Time Of The Season always reminds me of Stand By Me a little too much.

Krash100 08-31-2005 03:03 PM
Jeff Buckley - "Last Goobye"
doesn't that song start with strings? I don't think it had a bass intro

YDload 08-31-2005 05:12 PM
Time Of The Season always reminds me of Stand By Me a little too much.
Yeah, I used to not know what that song was called, so I would describe the bassline to people and they're like "Oh you mean 'Stand by Me?'" NO ITS VERY DIFFERENT YOU STUPID FAT JERK!

Anxious 08-31-2005 05:13 PM

Come to think of it, any intro Mike Watt does is gold.

Also, Joy Division-Insight

RollerQueen 08-31-2005 05:58 PM
doesn't that song start with strings? I don't think it had a bass intro
It starts with a slide guitar glisten, but I don't care. It's a great intro bassline. If you don't like it, I'll disagree with you 'til we're both so blue in the face that we're Smurfed.

ZEROthirtythree 08-31-2005 06:11 PM
