You know what, I just listened to BYOB's again, and it is really awesome.
What's even better, is that it is reminding me of System's first album. It is of course very different, but very alike in the craziness aroma of the s/t's sound.
I'm definitely getting this one.

And those weirded out screams are bringing back great memories. :D
Darons opening scream and the chorus is what makes the song for me.
Really? I've always thought Daron was a terrible screamer..... :-/ To me, the scream is just shaky and retarded sounding.

I think the song would be great if they just created a new chorus.

Daron's scream in BYOB is just really chaotic sounding, I don't really think he was trying to impress anyone with it. He does have decent screaming and growling ability though.

As far as the chorus of BYOB, it's there to make the point of the song more than it is to just be catchy or good(though it is somewhat regardless). It's just putting what they are talking about in a silly perspective, trying to capture an attitude. I don't think most SOAD fans really get what they are doing.

System of a Down is the one nu-metal band I really, really like. My friend and I are going at 7 a.m. to get tickets for the show on Monday. Tickets on sale day-of-show only. B.Y.O.B. is a good song with a great message.

And, Lamb of God is playing with them at Ozzfest. Double-whammy.

WHAT???
Neither Lamb of God, nor System of a Down are playing Ozzfest.
Maybe this is that thing that happens in Europe(I live in the US)

paco999 04-30-2005 07:06 PM

I've listened to SOAD since I was in like 6th grade, one of the first bands I liked. Their lyrics and riffs are catchy (Cigaro), man I love that song.

I obioulsly have to say that their best abum is the S/T, Sugar, Suite-Pee, Suggestions, Know, the whole cd is just amazing, its catchy and the political lyrics are quite interesting.

Toxicity is also an exellent job done by this peculiar band, the songs are catchy (Chop Suey!, Prision Song, Areials, Toxicity, etc) and the lyrics impressive, but I like the S/T better than Toxicity. This is just because I like the songs in the S/T better.

Finally, for steal this album all I have to say is that it was a step back from their first two productions. Although it has older material unrealesed before and it doesn't have much consitency and the songs are not as catchy as the other two, it has its good songs (Nüguns, Chick N' Stu, Bubbles and Mr. Jack).

I'm really looking foward to the new ablum Mezmerized, from what I've heard (Cigaro and BYOB) I was utterly impressed, to me its like hearing something from their S/T, specially Cigaro. I just love it when it says "My cock is much better than yours, My cock can walk right through the door". And all the other stuff.

Well thats my opinion on SOAD.

aw **** I confused them with Shadows Fall. They're playing Ozzfest.

SoaD's one of the mystery bands, or so I hear.

pigonthewing82 04-30-2005 07:21 PM

I heard the new song today, it really didn't do anything for me, I don't think I'll be buying the new album.

Dude3 04-30-2005 07:21 PM

No, they're not the mystery band. It turned out to be Mudvayne. I guess you'll have to wait for some other time to see them live, which will probably be this summer.

By the way, Lamb of God and Shadows Fall kick some major ass live!

Dude3 04-30-2005 07:22 PM

I'm going to pre-order the album now, at least I think.

paco999 04-30-2005 07:42 PM

^^^ Actually you're gonna get it alot cheaper in any record store if you buy it within the first two weeks after it comes out. IDK why they do this but they always do.

nirvana_33 04-30-2005 07:42 PM

I've already pre-ordered the new album with the shirt. I can't wait till it comes in. I'm int he U.S. so I'll be waiting till the 17th.

Rothmans 04-30-2005 08:19 PM

I have pre - orderd it myself and Im hoping it will be good.

(>dragon~guitarist<) 04-30-2005 08:41 PM

I would just buy it at Best Buy or some other store the first week it comes out, albums cost like $10 when they first come out there

Dude3 04-30-2005 08:44 PM

$10? Wow, that's a good price. On Amazon, its a little less than $14 on the pre-order. Even though its a little more expensive on there, I'll order it anyway.
Chances are, I won't be able to get to a store to buy it fast, and will end up getting it quicker through pre-order.

TheSubtleArts 04-30-2005 08:48 PM

ive pre-ordered mine from the soad website. i heard the short clips of each song, nothing really impressive to me,, though ofcourse i know you cant judge a song on 30 seconds of it. i think it will turn out to be another fine release from them.

TTTSNB 04-30-2005 08:56 PM

I like them, one of the few nu metal bands I like. I feel that they are much more creative and interesting then alot of bands of that genre.

Dude3 04-30-2005 09:02 PM

Yeah. I really don't even like to consider them Nu-Metal. In my opinion, they are not. I think they are very talented, original, and I love the lyrics. I've never heard a band that sounds like them.

misunderstood 05-01-2005 12:26 AM

I just got back from the System of a Down show here in Austin..one word: WOW! It was an awesome performance! The drummer was great! Everything was great. I'm looking forward to their fall tour with TMV..should be great.

Dude3 05-02-2005 04:04 PM

I don't think any other songs have been released or leaked. I guess we will just have to wait.

I pre-ordered the new SOAD record, Tesament's The Legacy, and Judas Priest's Painkiller. Yay me!

Its funny how you make 0 sense.

Blizzink 05-02-2005 05:14 PM

He was trying to explain that STA! was just supposed to be a side album that SOAD said they didn't want treated as a major release.

Anyways, were those 30 second samples leaked or are they available at some store's site or something? I want to hear some of them, especially 'This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm on This Song'.

Dude3 05-02-2005 06:33 PM

I've been on the site, and I haven't found any samples.
