yea, this kind of turned into a hair metal thread, but they are both closely related. glam is more like david bowie, new york dolls, etc. but still, both genres dont get enough attention.
|
I like Johnny Thunders.. You Can't Put Your Arms Round a Memory was playing a few minutes ago
|
stryper is christian! you don't preach the bible in glam. they give a bad name to metal.
I misspelt the title, it was supposed to be The Glam/Hair Metal Thread If you want to talk about Bowie or T Rex get your own thread. But the Dolls own, they can stay.
uc? |
an amazing hair metal band would be.......
john bon jovi-vocals kip winger/george lynch -Rythm Rhandy Rhoads- Lead nikki sixx- bass eric singer- drums can't tell me that wouldn't rock hard in dolby digital surround sound |
Heh, that would be sweet.
So now we need more discussion of modern glam. Like Rachel Stamp, SPiT LiKE THiS and the Renegade Playboys http://www.myspace.com/spitlikethisuniverse http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=7281765&Mytoken=20050427104553 |
hair metal is awesome, and motley crue is touring this summer. :thumb: also, is ozzy considered hair metal? i dont care, but thats what some black/death metalheads have told me. (personally i hate black metal, death metal, gore metal, etc. its all about power metal and glam/hair metal (though many would disagree). i dont care. george lynch forever!
No, Ozzy is heavy metal..i wouldn't call him hair metal! lol..The hair metal was neevr as good as the original glam rock movement..I mean I love Bon Jovi, and Motley Crue are good, howeve rthey don't comapre to Queen, T-rex or Alice!! I like the New York Dolls too, they do indeed rock!! |
k, more bands to plug
Rattlesnake Remedy (they're playing on my birthday, anyone wanna take me?): http://www.rattlesnakeremedy.com http://www.audiostreet.net/artist.aspx?artistid=3875 King Lizard: http://kinglizard.stopthebanter.co.uk/ |
I love Skid Row and Warrant, epitome of hair metal imo. I wouldn't call them glam metal though.
|
the best glam rock band was motley crue. and they weren't very good.
I never thought I would tell an Aerosmith fan they suck, but....You suck. It's all about Crue, they rule. I've been listening to them so much lately.
an amazing hair metal band would be....... john bon jovi-vocals kip winger/george lynch -Rythm Rhandy Rhoads- Lead nikki six- bass eric singer- drums can't tell me that wouldn't rock hard in dolby digital surround sound
I can tell you whatever the hell I want to tell you. |

I prefer You're All I Need to Home Sweet Home.
Just...better. brb need to put Skid Row s/t on again |

It's Zeppelin.
Anyways, I've been listening to Skid Row a lot lately. Big Guns and 18 and Life are great songs. |
Alice Cooper & David Bowie - Vocals
Johnny Thunders - Guitar Eddie Van Halen - Rythym guitar Duff McKagan - Bass (o noez) Tommy Lee - Drums |
18 & Life is awesome, I must admit, and almost every Bon Jovi single is a guilty pleasure. (Why can't I be faithful to my hatred of 'happy metal'?)
Shot through the heart, and you're too late. Darling, you give love a bad name. What a song  |
i've just seen people saying good hair metal bands = Bon jovi vocals and EVH on guitar.....you can't not have Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora together!
|
I saw Faster Pussycat, Loud N' Nasty and some 'billy band last night.
Good stuff. *listens to Ratt* |
Are Faster Pussycat still together?
|
Oh yes.
But it seems like Taime's got ole' LSD. Either that, or its a coincidence that there's only one other original member. |
Has anybody heard the Ga*Ga*s?
As for a band: Vox: Ginger (He was in the Brides Of Destruction for a while, close enough) Guitar: Mick Mars Bass: Nikki Sixx Drums: Matt Sorum
Yeah man! I love The*Ga*Ga*s! I've been trying to get the album, I'm going to order it online, I have about 4 or 5 of there songs and I love every one of them! I think you might've been the person who recomended them to me, can't remember exactly though. |
