Just out of curiousity, who is this revered American poet you're taking classes from?

Rushfan2112 04-22-2005 02:15 PM

new subject, I'm kinda confused at something. SOmeone last contest reminded me that you can't put insong notes (like instramental, etc) but then some people I have seen use the word chorus, etc.

Exactly what can and can you not put in a song...

thanks...

Bigbadbob 04-22-2005 02:43 PM

The basic idea of the challege is to have the lyrics stand on their own merit. Some ppl use to put tabs, chords & other musical discriptions. There's never been a problem with labeling verses or chorus but we've always tried to stay away from discriptive musical references.

Corupt2057 04-22-2005 03:08 PM

I just think it's kinda funny you had to be tutored to get punblished lol
[/sarcasm]
ok you know that was funny from my position ;)
nah but good for you taking classes that would definitely be a great opportunity broadening your writing history and a learning new techniques and such :thumb:

Yeah listen to BBB man, he knows his stuff.

In general if something is meant to be sung differently or spoken or something like that, try putting that alternate section in italics. It sort of neatens it up and gives a clear impression that that section is meant to be ifferent.

Chorus applies to the lyrics as well, stuff like guitar solo and interlude do not.

Pixies, what did u mean with Being Cradle of Filth Pt2?

Necroses-bass 04-23-2005 07:53 AM

Just a question, Am i actuallt the only european on this forum?

Oh yeah. On the topic of "oooohhhh look at me, I'm so wonderfull but I'm being modest, so really I'm even more amazingly wonderfully amazingly wonderfull at lyrics" and qualifications and all that - I am a master of karate, kung fu and drunken streetfighting as well as a skilled house of cards creator, and I've been playing bass and guitar ever since I've been available for embryonic stem cell research so I must be the greatest lyricist ever.

Oh yeah.

And fuck those Vets, fuck those dirty fucking vets. Stupid animal lovers... why don't you go and learn to be a real doctor instead of a pachyderm **** lover.

Oddly enough I consider you a vet :p

(P.S. DO you really have fourth degree black belts in karate and kung fu?)
(P.S. DO you really have fourth degree black belts in karate and kung fu?)
Oh. Shoot I actually would have been really impressed since the youngest master we had at my school was something like 18 and you aren't that much older right?
I did that, too! Only I quit when I found out there wasn't a pink belt.
Yeah, I quit when I found out that I wasn't actually allowed to wear any colour belt I liked. Whats the point in doing karate if you can't say that you have a black belt?!

I don't know, I'm pretty old... I mean, I'm the oldest I've ever been right now.

That's not a point for doing karate.

That's boring.

Anyway... I want to do ninjitsu so I can be a ninja, not karate to be a carrot. I just want to run up walls and fly and turn invisible and stuff... I've got plenty of black belts at home... and they're made of real leather, not that cotton crap.

 Anyways I still do it because I love it, though I don't study karate per se, but a variety of things ranging from old Samurai swordsmanship to Pankration. I do like my lame cotton black belt though :)

jurialmunkey 04-23-2005 09:05 PM

Seriously though..xxx I only really use the internet when I'm at my drummers house so I don't really get on MSN or AIM very much these days.

Right now I have to go home and sleep because I've been awake for three days and everything is getting those little blue/purple streaks of blurried electricity and stuff and stuff and stuff and stuff.............x

No pinkie promises, but I'll try and get on MSN or AIM sometime during the week..xxx

What do you mean by 'School' though??? Do you mean secondary or tertiary???

Arghhh...School.......!

Thanx for reminding me; I gotta go back to college in a few days. MMMmmmm overdue assignments..xxx

pixiesfanyo 04-24-2005 12:08 PM

Like you said you got most of your tution paid for since you came from the states?

Or maybe I just read something wrong.
