their bassist name was Joe Mauer. he left to be with his family. it sucked that matt didn't hype up the basslines in the live shows

streetpunx87 04-12-2005 08:41 PM

So did matt fill back in for them ?

nitzguy 04-13-2005 11:01 AM

only on tour

streetpunx87 04-13-2005 11:41 AM

ok .

TheBouncingSoul 04-13-2005 02:59 PM

Here is what i know...Matt also left SD, after JOHN Mauer quit. (edit to the guy who said Joe). But i think i'm seeing them in may, so i'll find out. maybe. and to the dude who said SD isn't punk...what are they?

streetpunx87 04-13-2005 03:45 PM

maybe i could find some useful information on this.

noo, don't close this thread
MIKE NESS IS MY HERO

every social d song speaks to me in a way nothing else can, whenever i'm down i listend to social d, my favorite album is either their s/t or White heat white light white trash, i get to see them live next month and i can't wait. the band that i play in has heavy social distortion influence.

for the guy that hates Social Distortion, tell me what is there to hate, they can be hardcore, they can be slow, they have perfect harmony and Mike Ness has the coolest voice ever. Sure Beats the crap out of those high voice pop punk little bastards.

DrGolovaCroxby 04-21-2005 11:22 PM

so i've been listning to my "Mommys Little Monster" cd a little more, and its starting to grow on me.

SactoUnited 04-22-2005 08:36 PM

My biology teacher loves them. Anyway, I also think Mike Ness' solo stuff is incredible too. Not punk at all, more rockabilly influenced.

streetpunx87 04-22-2005 09:54 PM

Do you have any idea who can close threads?

I can assure you it isn't you. :smash:

metty16 04-28-2005 05:03 PM

from pictures i've seen of the band, they look like they are pretty old( e.g. the lead singer ) how old are they?

SlappedByTheClash 04-28-2005 05:04 PM

Ness was born back in '62.

You can do the math. They've been a band since like 78.

SkaRobotArmy 04-29-2005 07:36 PM

you know what rocks about these guys? from 78' to '05 they made great music all the way through. Looking at all the songs everyone picked, they span their entire career, i was really surprised by the support for the new album, i might have to go pick it up now...
