in my mind there are no english versions
|
there is english recordings of a few of their songs
|
By the band themselves? I was not aware of that. Even so, Du Hast means "You Have" in German and you simply cannot argue that. Maybe they changed it to You Hate in the english version to cash in on the blunder that most people make in thinking that that is what it means.
i'd have to say that Herzeleid is my favourite album right now, then maybe Sehnsucht... or Mutter... then Reise, Reise.
although th cd of Herzeleid doesn't look too good with the really poor looking cover art, it has a lot of their best songs on it.
Now here's a true Rammstein fan. Hands down, "Herzeleid" is their finest CD to date. |
I agree about the Herzeleid cover. Pretty gay-looking.
It looks like a poster for a gay festival party thing. |
^haha so true
http://herzeleid.com/ this site has all the translations, so should solve any arguments anyway i'm going to see Rammstein on the 7th in Nottingham, can't wait |
Mutter is a good CD, and Adios is a great song off it. Not many people seem to mention it, but it's one of my favourites.
yeah, that song is cool, its the first on my mp3 play list of all their songs, always comes on first for me, so i hear it lots |

hmmm maybe i was wrong... but the recording is way different then the translation.... lol
|
i know that the booklet translations in sehnsaucht (sp?) isn't the EXACT translations but what the words would be if sung in english (they made the translations in the bookley rhyme)
|
its you have dip****s. they only said you hate in the english version cause the said it would make more sense to the english speaking people
and i yes i have seen them live they put on one hell of a show they dont talk much to the audience but im not so sure now since reise reise came out what a let down. |
there is english recordings of a few of their songs
yeah, du hast and engel. that's all though. and yeah everyone already knows it means "you have" when you translate it. its based on the german wedding vowls or whatever. and its just you hate so it works in english. i don't like the english one that much. |
^good job
|
I love Mein Herz brennt, its a brilliant piece of music. What makes it better is it accompanied a few Mercedes ads on telly. Wicked.
|

Megaherz and Rammstein sound much alike. There are other, similar bands out there, just can't think of the names right now. |
hey i dont listen to him but it was like
"the industrial artist nine inch nails"
Nine Inch Nails is considered industrial, or at least used to be, but they are quite a bit different (and quite a lot better :p) than Rammstein. |

YES! in fact, i actually like Megaherz better (not to say Rammstein is bad, but the only reason Megaherz wasn't ever noticed is because Rammstein were pretty much reigning over the whole german metal thing.). also Oomph!, but i don't like them. |
I find it hard listening to Ramstein. I don't know what it is about them. Perhaps because they are German?

i love music in other languages. hell, Sigur Ros is among my favorite bands, yet their singer made up his own language to sing in. |
