Some of these might not seem depressing to some people, and that's okay. But here's what I've come across:

Blink 182 - Adam's Song

Cold - Thirteen
Cold - Wasted Years
Crossfade - Cold
Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
Incubus - Pardon Me
Jack Off Jill - Vivica
"To Bid You Farewell" by Opeth. Such a beautiful song :'(
Still Day Beneath The Sun is good too. =)

dianaManic 11-14-2004 06:31 AM

from despair to where-the manic street preachers

everything means nothing to me-elliott smith...

and joy divisionīs songs, are pretti depresing

zed4321.pumpkin_pie 11-14-2004 07:51 AM

Even though APC sound good, I can't listen to them cause they're just, well depressing to me. Same with Tool, Creed's first album "My Own Prison", Metallica, and punk music (depressing because it's glorified pop music).

dave grohl 11-14-2004 08:40 AM

Tool-sober for me.

metal_sandwich 11-14-2004 08:55 AM

I am suprised nobody mention "Castles Made of Sand" by Jimmy Hendrix. It is about this three people who led very sad lives. Both the lyrics and the guitar is very depressing.

ottopia 11-16-2004 11:20 PM

Easy, anything by the father of depressing, Peter Hammill. People You Were Going To from Nadir's Big Chance album particularly comes to mind.

ottopia 11-16-2004 11:49 PM

Just dragged out the album to listen to it again, I think Shingle is even more depressing, closely followed by Airport on the same album. Oh Well... off to slash my wrist now. :(

Nooneimportant 11-17-2004 08:55 AM

Nirvana - lithium
The beatles- let it be ( i know i know)
Stone sour- bother
Loreena mckennit- dantes prayer ( not rock but if you just want to end it all good song lol)
Jumper- cant remember band atm
Imaginary- evanescence

woodsinho 11-17-2004 09:12 AM

Radiohead - Street Spirit has to be one of the saddest sounding songs around. Gets to me everytime.

Flopfoot 11-17-2004 09:12 AM

The first one for me was Eminem - Stan
Then things like Blink 182 - Adams Song
And Pearl Jam - Black

One which I used as a kind of 'anti-depressant' was Good Charlotte - Hold On

(You ppls are probably saying 'Its no wonder you were depressed, listening to all that rotten music!)

Mr Randy Rhoads 11-17-2004 09:53 AM

it's instrumental (the version I have anyway), but 'For the Love of God' by Vai definitely sounds tortured...
