I like Master Of Reality.

But without Ozzy...they are a joke.

JMetallica 10-29-2004 04:07 AM

Um, no. Ozzy is the joke, Sabbath owned with the other vocalists. The Dehumanizer album was one of those that owned. It's awesome. I love the first three songs, especially.

Mark. A 10-29-2004 04:47 AM

I love Sabbath a lot more then Ozzy.

Malakian Worshipper 10-29-2004 04:50 AM

I can remember first listening to Sabbath when i was 9. It was on vinly and i still love their sh!t today. Master Of Reality was my fav. album, now its paranoid, undoubtedly the best metal album of all time. I dont think much of ozzy, but iommi is a mentor (anyone who can play with 2 fingers is pretty cool).

doggonit 10-29-2004 05:13 AM

sabbath is great and iommi is a bit under-rated, what with the fingers being chopped off.

Black Sabbath>Every other album by them.

Apart from the Reunion cd they released, which was live and had all their best songs on.

Master of reality truly a masterpiece

Ulike most modern day bands, black sabbath actually reaches into your mind and pulls out your soul, twisting it into realms of the imagination never before, or even since, explored by humanity. Master of Reality has got to be one of the greatest albums of all time, although not the most popular (that medal goes to Paranoid), certainly one of the most surreal... and even an anti-religion person like myself was drawn to explore the regions of life after death and even sought to gain a better understanding of christianity. A stimulant to the mind and the soul, a refreshment for the more macabre and morbid imaginations of humanity... without sabbath my life would be an empty wasteland void of all existensialist thought, but as it is, my worldview is constantly fuelled by the beauty of Orchid. To me, Master of Reality is truly that.

I prefer the lesser known Black Sabbath songs to the ones that they play on tour all the time.

I get sick of hearing Paranoid, Iron Man, Snowblind and War Pigs etc... I'd give my left leg to be able to see them play on the Vol.4 tour or the Sabotage tour.

rising_fury 10-29-2004 08:31 AM

i'd settle for just seeing them at all

Brew 10-29-2004 08:39 AM
i'd settle for just seeing them at all
Same here, I just wish they'd play some other songs.

JMetallica 10-30-2004 01:50 AM

^^

Haha, don't we all?

rising_fury 10-30-2004 04:14 AM

well, hearing supernaut live would be rockin, and hand of doom... mmmmm... hand of doom

acefrehleyjendell 10-30-2004 05:21 AM
Tyr is fantastic. All lyrics are based around Norse Myths, which i am very much into. Tony's voice is wondeful on there. Id say the key tracks would be: "the sabbath stones" "anno mundi" and "jerusalem" though every track is magnificigant. Probley their best produced album in terms of sound quality, Tony plays wonderfuly which is most importantly. aside from "cross purposes" it is the best with Martin on vocals.
whats the song on that that the video is similar to the KISS video for hide your heart but in the daytime ant IommI does that cool spin ???

acefrehleyjendell 10-30-2004 05:24 AM
^^^^

master of reality...not one of the album highlights, if you havent heard the rest you wouldnt understand hehe. Fantastic album.
i totally agree, sweet leaf was the first one i heard of that album and thought it was cool but omg was i completly blown away when i heard children of the grave, into the void, and lord of this world. but my fave sabbath album changes every week, right now its never say die, last time it was dehumanizer bootleg with rob halford on vocals

acefrehleyjendell 10-30-2004 05:26 AM

acefrehleyjendell 10-30-2004 05:53 AM

thats what made me want to play bass

Wlokos 10-30-2004 06:57 PM

Any heavy metal band that can write a good classical song (Changes) must be good. >_>

Sabbath rocks, though I've only heard Volume 4 and Paranoid... No point in listing my favorites, as I'd be listing every song in paranoid, and most of Volume 4.

thickasabrick 10-30-2004 07:18 PM

i really like The Wizard and NIB, but my favourite album is Paranoid.

Ibanez4162 10-30-2004 07:52 PM

I have been waiting for so long for someone to start a Sabbath Thread. well I would have to say my fave songs are War Pigs and Fairies Wear boots. Would anyone consider them classic rock? they r in the right time period, but on any threads about classic rock, i look hard for their name and can't find it.

They are technically classic rock, but they have the more modern heavy metal sound.
