i dont trust norwegian music stores.. they just wanna sell.. they realy dont care what the customer want. they just take what ever they have in and give it to you...

gaslight 04-15-2005 11:36 AM

Stores will be stores, I suppose.

Thunder Fingers 04-15-2005 11:38 AM

yeah, but clean bass stores kinda knows more than a store full of guitarists....

i think ill go down on monday and play with an EBS and Maby change the strings i bought somedays ago(i realy dont want flatwounds on my geddy...i expected to get a p bass alittle earlier than what i will if i get a OD/distortion now...)

Thunder Fingers 04-15-2005 11:44 AM

mmmm... i liked the sound f the boss overdrive actually(listens to soundclip on Boss's site)

fatbandit 04-15-2005 12:12 PM

I can't work out how to get a good distorted sound out of my Big Muff. Quite annoying. I can get it to mask the sound of the bass entirely, but that's poo. I want something like the bass on QOTSA's Little Sister, or that new Nine Inch Nails song. So its actually identifiable. Any suggestions (just messing about with it hasn't produced much...)?

Assuming you have a russian muff :naughty: Point the sustain to the 'O' on output and put the tone to the same level.

fatbandit 04-15-2005 12:33 PM

I'll try that! Any preferences for EQ settings?

fatbandit 04-15-2005 12:39 PM

And do you mean both set to pointing at the O, or the tone set to like 1 o'clock or whatever it is too?

rh15951 04-15-2005 12:40 PM

The 'O' in the word output.

rh15951 04-15-2005 12:41 PM

And EQ virtually flat, boost bass and treble slightly, drop hi-mids slightly. If you got a deep button, use that too.

fatbandit 04-15-2005 12:42 PM

Okay.

Thunder Fingers 04-15-2005 01:22 PM

ok... i have looked around and calculated alittle... there are barely any difference in price if i buy a Boss ODB3 here in norway or a Fulltone Bass Driver From USA... and nomather where i buy a EBS bassdrive from, the fullone bass drive is gonna be cheaper..:p

nisakss 04-15-2005 02:18 PM

fatbandit 04-15-2005 03:08 PM

No, he's now an amputee. He needed to have his third leg removed...

rh15951 04-15-2005 03:09 PM

I stared at you avatar too long. My eyes liquified shortly after the seizure, and this is being dictated to me as we speak.

:upset:

That's less painful than running on a treadmill with a carpet floory thing, and falling forward. :amaze:

lemoley 04-15-2005 03:14 PM

hey guys hows it going aint been on in a while so fill me in with whats been going on

fatbandit 04-15-2005 03:33 PM

The muff setting is okay, but I need to test it at a higher volume, which I can't do in my house, unfortunately. The volume changes everything. Still wasn't soundign defined. I need more of a crunch in it I think.

MXican's avatar is far more seizure inducing than yours, Jamie.

And lemoley - not much. Religious discussion, politics. You know... Intelligent stuff. I kept well out!

What do u mean by crunch? I'll have a mess about and see what I can come up with.

Thunder Fingers 04-15-2005 03:39 PM

the muff aint a "Crunchy" Pedal after what i recall...

I'm not sure what crunch means :(

fatbandit 04-15-2005 03:44 PM

Well, I know its more fuzz than crunch, but I'd still like something close.

And by my definition, fuzz is just... fuzz. Not really distortion, kind of makes it fluffier

And crunch is a more distinct sounding note. Listen to the new Nine Inch Nails song for an example. Its called something along the lines of 'Bite the Hand That Feeds You'.

Thunder Fingers 04-15-2005 03:44 PM

like the guitar in the "new Born" song by Muse.
