okay 10-27-2007 12:54 PM

if you cant get in they'll probably refund you your money, just tell them you didnt know it was 18+

Neoteric 10-27-2007 01:02 PM

Every ticket I've bought, it says at the back, "THIS TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE"

Thanks 10-27-2007 01:13 PM

18+ shows shouldn't exist. I mean, I don't think 21+ shows should exist, either, but at least that kind of makes sense. Still, the idea that music should only be available to certain people is severely fucked.

Yeah, 18+ shows have never made much sense to me either.

And make them believe you live hours and hours away.

Pity is the key.

dei 10-27-2007 01:49 PM

Fake an accent and say you travelled all the way from Eastern Europe.

YDload 10-27-2007 02:11 PM

21+ shows make sense so they dont have to card everyone who wants to buy a drink, but 18+ makes no sense. are they making it more efficient to vote in there or what?

Kyle 10-27-2007 02:31 PM

The drinking limit in the UK is 18...so it kinda makes sense.
did you see The Boredoms and Michael Gira? I saw them in Glasgow, and it was rather spectaculer.

My next show is Mark Kozelek on Wednesday.
Boredoms are coming here on Monday but I can't go. It's on the same day as Arcade Fire and Animal Collective.

YDload 10-27-2007 02:41 PM

im saying in the US it doesnt make sense.

Soy Dios 10-27-2007 02:53 PM

it probably stems from the "You must be 18 to smoke cigarettes" law.

or maybe because 18 is the age where you can begin "legally" having intercourse in many states.

superpeer 10-27-2007 03:03 PM

There are no age limits on shows here, far as I know.

Monticello 10-27-2007 03:47 PM

16+ where I live mostly. Which is sweet because I just turned 16 :)

ATM 10-27-2007 04:09 PM

Busted.

Nice. How was JT?

br3ad_man 10-28-2007 04:54 AM

It was pretty much exactly what you'd expect, so it was awesome in that way. He's a really nice dude and he plays lots of instruments.

**** I missed Boredoms

I probably wouldn't have been able to go anyway

big80smullet 10-28-2007 07:24 AM

18+ gigs are good cause you don't get little fan boys and girls.

br3ad_man 10-28-2007 07:36 AM

18+ shows are better overall but it totally sucks for the few kids who are actually into it.

Neoteric 10-28-2007 07:41 AM

Yeah, like me.

br3ad_man 10-28-2007 07:43 AM

And me until a year ago.

dei 10-28-2007 07:44 AM

Age limits are dumb.

Neoteric 10-28-2007 07:56 AM

People should be able to go into whatever show they like and enjoy themselves. It's dumb that younger fans miss out for no real reason.

Happymeal 10-28-2007 08:33 AM

Pedophiles.

Oh? What instruments did he play when you saw him?

Boilermaker 10-28-2007 08:45 AM

Accordian, oboe and the recorder.

StaticSynth 10-28-2007 09:01 AM

"live free or die"

lol.

ATM 10-28-2007 12:36 PM

Video from the show I went to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKWAjhFwW8I
It ruled.

Zmev 10-29-2007 12:49 AM

It's 2007 and the Stooges still put on an amazing show.

dei 10-29-2007 07:16 AM

I haven't been to a show in like 80 years.

br3ad_man 10-29-2007 07:59 AM
People should be able to go into whatever show they like and enjoy themselves. It's dumb that younger fans miss out for no real reason.
It's not really no reason though, venues can't really make any money if they can't sell booze.
Oh? What instruments did he play when you saw him?
Guitar, piano, organ and I think a synth or something during LoveStoned.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-29-2007 08:01 AM
I haven't been to a show in like 80 years.
me either :(

I will be breaking the drought in December though.

br3ad_man 10-29-2007 08:05 AM

I might see Bill Callahan on Saturday. Depends on money.

ATM 10-29-2007 09:14 AM

Circle Takes the Square tonight :D

Boilermaker 10-29-2007 01:52 PM

Should I go see Mount Eerie? I'm not a fan really, but I love the Microphones, it's like a block away from my house and five bucks...

poopie 10-29-2007 02:43 PM

yes

Montana 10-29-2007 04:46 PM

Parts and Labor are playing here tomorrow but I don't feel like going.

A local band are going to perform the soundtrack from the Rocky horror Picture show on Halloween so I'm going to save my energy for that night.

Thanks 10-29-2007 05:14 PM

I saw Mt. Eerie the other night and it was fun. He did Microphones songs. And played in the dark with a projection of very simple nature animations. He's a cool (awkward) guy.

Kyle 10-29-2007 09:09 PM
Parts and Labor are playing here tomorrow but I don't feel like going.
Errrr.....go? I saw them last month and they ruled, I got a chance to speak to them aswell and they were really nice and they gave me a drumstick and bla bla bla they are good.

Animal collective gig/interview tomorrow :D
