if you cant get in they'll probably refund you your money, just tell them you didnt know it was 18+
|
Every ticket I've bought, it says at the back, "THIS TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE"
|
18+ shows shouldn't exist. I mean, I don't think 21+ shows should exist, either, but at least that kind of makes sense. Still, the idea that music should only be available to certain people is severely fucked.

the people at the venue are people too, just stress your situation to them |

Yeah, 18+ shows have never made much sense to me either. |

And make them believe you live hours and hours away. Pity is the key. |
Fake an accent and say you travelled all the way from Eastern Europe.
|
21+ shows make sense so they dont have to card everyone who wants to buy a drink, but 18+ makes no sense. are they making it more efficient to vote in there or what?
|
The drinking limit in the UK is 18...so it kinda makes sense.
did you see The Boredoms and Michael Gira? I saw them in Glasgow, and it was rather spectaculer. My next show is Mark Kozelek on Wednesday.
Boredoms are coming here on Monday but I can't go. It's on the same day as Arcade Fire and Animal Collective. |
im saying in the US it doesnt make sense.
|
it probably stems from the "You must be 18 to smoke cigarettes" law.
or maybe because 18 is the age where you can begin "legally" having intercourse in many states. |
There are no age limits on shows here, far as I know.
|
16+ where I live mostly. Which is sweet because I just turned 16 :)
|
Busted.
|
At least that's what you tell them.
ahahah |
I'm probably going to see Bill Callahan next Saturday. I just got home from Justin Timberlake.
Nice. How was JT? |
It was pretty much exactly what you'd expect, so it was awesome in that way. He's a really nice dude and he plays lots of instruments.

18+ gigs are good cause you don't get little fan boys and girls.
|
18+ shows are better overall but it totally sucks for the few kids who are actually into it.
|
Yeah, like me.
|
And me until a year ago.
|
Age limits are dumb.
|
People should be able to go into whatever show they like and enjoy themselves. It's dumb that younger fans miss out for no real reason.
|
Pedophiles.

Oh? What instruments did he play when you saw him? |
Accordian, oboe and the recorder.
|
"live free or die"
lol. |
Video from the show I went to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKWAjhFwW8I It ruled. |
It's 2007 and the Stooges still put on an amazing show.
|
I haven't been to a show in like 80 years.
|

It's not really no reason though, venues can't really make any money if they can't sell booze.
Oh? What instruments did he play when you saw him?
Guitar, piano, organ and I think a synth or something during LoveStoned. |
I haven't been to a show in like 80 years.
me either :( I will be breaking the drought in December though. |
I might see Bill Callahan on Saturday. Depends on money.
|
Circle Takes the Square tonight :D
|
Should I go see Mount Eerie? I'm not a fan really, but I love the Microphones, it's like a block away from my house and five bucks...
|
yes
|
Parts and Labor are playing here tomorrow but I don't feel like going.
A local band are going to perform the soundtrack from the Rocky horror Picture show on Halloween so I'm going to save my energy for that night. |
I saw Mt. Eerie the other night and it was fun. He did Microphones songs. And played in the dark with a projection of very simple nature animations. He's a cool (awkward) guy.
Parts and Labor are playing here tomorrow but I don't feel like going.
Errrr.....go? I saw them last month and they ruled, I got a chance to speak to them aswell and they were really nice and they gave me a drumstick and bla bla bla they are good.
