Yeh, they're poo. And I tried so hard to like them... oh well.

ChodaBoy 01-13-2007 11:36 AM

Any idea who the chick is from the When Your Heart Stops Beating video is? She looks familiar, but i cant put my finger on it

bottlerocket 01-13-2007 12:13 PM

I've heard two theories as to why Mark named the song about Tom and the break up of blink-182 "No It Isn't". Supposedly, he wanted one of two (possibly both) things to happen:

"Is that song about Tom?"

"No It Isn't."

or...

Tom: "Angels and Airwaves is the greatest band in history."

Mark: "No It Isn't."

lol

I think the first one's more Mark's style, though.

lunchforthesky 01-13-2007 02:18 PM

How about is it true that Tom hasnt turned into the biggest douchebag in pop punk history?

bottlerocket 01-13-2007 02:24 PM

Yeah, basically.

Tom seriously was my idol when I was in like 5th grade up until 9th grade. I wanted to be like him so badly.

Now, I realize that he's just a tool and that Mark was always the cool one. I've always loved Mark, but I just always looked up to Tom more.

lunchforthesky 01-13-2007 02:30 PM

So many people idolised him.

Seriously what happened, he was a pop punk God and now pretty much no-one likes him, people are even growing to hate his blink songs.

bottlerocket 01-13-2007 02:34 PM

Well, I wouldn't say NO ONE likes him. AVA is making money and are doing well, aren't they? I thought they were a popular band. Maybe I'm wrong. Are they doing awful or something?

I hope (+44) is doing well. They seem to be holding their own.

I still love his blink songs because Tom was still Tom when he wrote them, you know? I think hating the blink songs he wrote is extreme, haha.

skidrumbum 01-13-2007 02:39 PM

i love +44 and i read the review of when your heart stops beeting. and i agree with the fisrt part. tom probably hasnt heard it, hes to busy on his throne covered with ava stickers. in his ava rope with an ava blanket. with ava walls in the room. hes changed and i still love mark and travis. travis is one of mybiggest insperations as a drummer.

bottlerocket 01-13-2007 02:41 PM

Yeah, Tom definitely has changed. Mark and Travis seem to be the same old people, though.

You can tell Mark's the same from his podcast. I love his podcast, haha.

I wanna meet Mark and chill with him. He seems like he'd be a lot of fun.

lunchforthesky 01-13-2007 02:49 PM

There next album will bomb pretty hard i think, i dont know there not exactly making huge waves or anything at the moment.

I dont hate his Blink songs myself although i dont much listen to Blink anymore. +44 look to be doing okay but people on the internet make them appear more popular than they are in reality
There next album will bomb pretty hard i think, i dont know there not exactly making huge waves or anything at the moment.
Yeah, I think so, too. The only reason the first album made so many sales is because a bunch of blink-182 fans pre-ordered the album. That's a fact.

I listen to blink like...daily. I'm listening to them right now, actually (Dude Ranch is playing through...it's at the end of Dammit right now).

+44 doesn't seem to be that popular but I never listen to the radio or watch MTV or anything so I honestly have absolutely no idea.

B 01-13-2007 05:15 PM

i would smoke a mad sesh with mark

i would ash on toms pants

Ross 01-13-2007 05:45 PM

rofl.

Mark was always my favourite, since all the girls like Tom. And I was waaaaay too scene to be one of the popular guys <_<

Yeah, that's the same with me.
Tom was my idol for like 8 years of my life, now I think he's a total douche.
Mark was always cool, and still is, but I never idolised him.
It's weird...

10571z 01-14-2007 06:26 AM

Everyone loved Tom. So many kids at the blink concerts with there lip rings, fringes, chucks and dickies shorts. The thing that shitted me the most was Tom talked them up SO much and i was counting down the days till it was released. And it was poo. I agree with everyone hear i think Tom is a fair douche.

MattSharpIsCool 01-14-2007 09:06 PM

I think Tom made a bad choice in hyping AVA so much. But honestly, think about it. He'd been playing the same music for 15 years of whatever. He gets the chance to make a different type of music, and AVA is born. He was excited about his new style of music, and made a dumb comment about it.

99% of us in this thread would have done the exact same thing if we had the choice (ie: in Tom's shoes). I still think that is the only reason some people don't like AVA, because he made that statement, and those people think he's soley responsible for Blink breaking up.

I'm not saying that's any of you guys, although it could easily be. But hating on AVA really is the "scene" thing to do.

bottlerocket 01-14-2007 10:37 PM

I agree hating AVA is the cool thing to do, but I legit just don't enjoy their music and think Tom made a big mistake in hyping them up so much.

You're right, though, about him being able to make different music, but what about BCR? It was more of a general progression than just a random "OK, FINALLY I great a break from these tools," you know?

10571z 01-15-2007 03:34 AM

I thought all you guys liked them and i thought they were liked alot. I truely hate them. They havent worked for there fame. And there are 1000's of bands out on the clubs circut who are 1000 times better. AvA dont deserve to be playing big staduim shows.

lunchforthesky 01-15-2007 08:16 AM

By that logic neither do plus 44 whom everyone loves.

B 01-15-2007 08:30 AM

i hate them too haha

bottlerocket 01-15-2007 09:50 AM
By that logic neither do plus 44 whom everyone loves.
lol, seriously. I'm with you on that one.

I don't think its about "working for fame," it's just making good music. AVA doesn't do that while (+44) does. That's how I see it, anyway.

Ross 01-15-2007 05:02 PM
I agree hating AVA is the cool thing to do, but I legit just don't enjoy their music and think Tom made a big mistake in hyping them up so much.
Couldn't agree more. I like Tom, although I think he's been a bit of a douche, but God alone knows how many times I listened to the AvA CD. I just plain, simple, could not get into it. It did nothing for me at all.

Untitled 01-15-2007 05:04 PM

Its crap and toms a ****.

Ross 01-15-2007 05:09 PM

Rofl. Well I don't like Matt Bellamy :p

Untitled 01-15-2007 05:11 PM

Yeah, well i dont like you  :p
By that logic neither do plus 44 whom everyone loves.
I dont think Plus 44 deserve there fame. But they are ALOT better then AVA

lunchforthesky 01-15-2007 06:18 PM

Agreed.

WYHSB is a good album but mad overated.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 01-15-2007 07:29 PM

poo-poo-pee-pee 01-15-2007 08:17 PM

When you fucked grandpa did he tell you that he loved you?

That songs fun to play, haha.
They announced that they're definitely going to release a second album?

lunchforthesky 01-15-2007 08:38 PM

ha with Tom's ego i sure think so.

MattSharpIsCool 01-15-2007 08:43 PM

I don't see why they wouldn't release a second album. You gotta realize this isn't a side project like Boxcar, this is Tom's new band. It has nothing to do with his "ego", it's natural for a band to release a second album after their first.

lunchforthesky 01-15-2007 08:45 PM

I would think so. I cant see it not sucking but ill happily give it a try.

10571z 01-15-2007 08:48 PM

Yeh same. Hopefully he doesnt talk it up.

DJ Ducksauce 01-15-2007 08:50 PM

So, if you go to the +44 they have an electronic WYHSB remix on the playlist. It's pretty fun.

lunchforthesky 01-15-2007 09:13 PM

^^ That was pretty cool, kind of what i htought they would be like when we first heard about +44

Virus278 01-15-2007 10:30 PM

Oh ya, i see what you mean. I hope it's better than their first album but after Tom released "Stars of Bethlehem" or whatever I kinda lost all faith in AVA. I was willing to give AVA a second chance but Tom just ended up making another sucky song.

10571z 01-15-2007 11:09 PM
So, if you go to the +44 they have an electronic WYHSB remix on the playlist. It's pretty fun.
yeh i heard the a while ago it rawks!

punkfan92 01-16-2007 05:24 PM

dude i toatlly agree. I lost all hope when he released that stars of bethleham. he hyped it up calling it the best song he had ever written and it wasted 8 minutes of my life.

MattSharpIsCool 01-16-2007 05:25 PM

I thought that was a pretty good song.

What don't you guys like about it?

The intro drags a bit, but other than that, I like it.
