So I decided to stop stealing and get my own avatar.

There was a whole page of Community Thread back there without a single post by me. Madness.

Mars Volta toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

pinkyeti 06-04-2005 04:19 PM

So, today I saw:
Black Dice
Sons and Daughters
Whitey
Animal Collective
The undertones
The wedding present

I might have seen Ian Brown, but I decided to leave the festival, as it started to rain, and I would have had to wait for 2 and a half hours during which only boring bands played.

Anyway, decent day, eh?

well i guess a crappy band live is better than no band at all, as long as everyone else in the venue likes them too and didn't just come to throw things at them *coughnickelbackcough*

so enjoy your c:rolleyes:ldplay

Bukowski 06-05-2005 08:18 AM

The next band I see is Sigur Ros in July. And since they are the shizz, i can't wait.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 06-05-2005 08:26 AM

I'd see NIN and Sigur Ros. Both of them. In Melbourne. In August. If I lived there. But I don't. It's tempting to go there though.

Stop it, Jelle.

sweboy 06-05-2005 01:04 PM

So guys, what the name of that famous Beach Boys song where they sing so sweet. There's like one voice line in the background going: "Ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba. Ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba". And then there's one over it going: "Ba-ba-ba-veei... Ba-ra-ba-ba-vee-eei...". And so on. Really well known melody.

NP: Sublime- Under My Voodoo

Such an awesome song, but I still don't know the whole lyrics :(

sweboy 06-05-2005 01:57 PM

Thanks Arresterhino! That song is the shizzle.

YDload, try this: http://plyrics.com/lyrics/sublime/undermyvoodoo.html
Don't know if it's 100% correct though.

That songs reminds of Hendrix for some reason. Am I alone?
That songs reminds of Hendrix for some reason. Am I alone?
I don't listen to much Hendrix but that's probably why I think that way too. I'm sure if I had one of Jimi's albums I'd be able to differentiate better, but for now they're just a couple of guitarists who knew how to rock out.

Electrocution 06-05-2005 08:17 PM

Theres no concerts coming to Vancouver that are worth the money and not 19+.

Crap.

Next show I have to look forward to is a bunch of Local Bands on July 17th. (If you're from vancouver... go... atleast 2 of the bands kick seeeeeerious ass.)

Some Idiot in the Other music forum is rambling about how 2Pac is still alive and so on.
And I thought that forum was home to only serious discussion.
On a vaguely related note, why is there no HipHop forum/subforum on mx?

Tomahawk 06-06-2005 10:43 AM

On this site, a hip-hop forum would be a fuckclump magnet.

Bartender 06-06-2005 10:44 AM

A hip hop forum on it's own wouldn't get enough traffic to justify it's existence. Same with ska, reggae, techno, classical (no matter how much people like Ned moan to the contrary), etc, which is why they're all just grouped under Other.

EDIT: Tomahawk's reason too.

gaslight 06-06-2005 10:46 AM

Hip Hop is awesome, but there are plently of chromosome-deficient, illiterate morons on these forums who would quickly descend on any Hip Hop forum in range with a terrifying onslaught of retardation like the world has never seen.

To sum up my point, this site just ain't big enough for the Rock/Metal forum and a Hip Hop forum, or at least not some of its less desirable inhabitants.

pinkyeti 06-06-2005 10:49 AM

Okay, I'm convinced. Bartender also seems to be right.

Well the room would actually get alot of traffic but as others have said, the potential clash between R/M and HH would be a head ache.
