Rollo47 09-20-2004 04:30 AM

I'm so jealous.... my friend is going to Germany, France and England for a month.

Alma 09-20-2004 04:32 AM

morpcat 09-20-2004 04:34 AM

I need help.

AfroMan 09-20-2004 04:36 AM

Well.................................

morpcat 09-20-2004 04:37 AM

"So cool!"

What do you guys think about incorporating a DJ/sampler style member into the band?

AfroMan 09-20-2004 04:38 AM

What kind of band are you?

morpcat 09-20-2004 04:40 AM

I meant any band.
But in my case it would be an instrumental band of many stylios.

Wintermute 09-20-2004 04:44 AM

As with any instrument, it depends how it's used.

Give it a go.

Alma 09-20-2004 04:44 AM

Why not try it out for a while? see how it goes? make some songs incorporating him/her/it. see how you's like it.

morpcat 09-20-2004 04:46 AM

Need to find one who isn't a dick and doesn't want to sample all the tracks first. Maybe keys will be a better route. When doth uni start?

fig nuts 09-20-2004 04:49 AM
^ erm?? what did the legs taste like?
they were really tender, can't really descibe it but they were nice, bit like chicken (suprise suprise)

Alma 09-20-2004 04:54 AM

might have to try them one day, but it just doesnt appeal to me that much. :p

Do it. Give it a go at least. I like a few bands with DJ's in em.

fig nuts 09-20-2004 05:11 AM

i kind wanna be in a band with a DJ but i dont know of any in my area that would be musically broad enough to get away from rave $hit

Alma 09-20-2004 05:22 AM

incubus use it very effectively, it fits in nicely.

fig nuts 09-20-2004 07:22 AM

Deftones use a DJ.

40 days till new bass.

4 days left of high school.

Next Monday I apply at the Australian Institute Of Music for the one year course.

Mr Coffeekiller, if you remember back when I asked your advice about which of the courses to take, I've found out there's a really convenient scheme at this place.

Basically they offer the 1 year, 2 year, and 4 year courses.

The 1 year course you are guaranteed entry to, and if you pass it, you can enter into the 2nd year of the 2 year course automatically. When you complete the 2 year course, you can enter straight into the 3rd year of the 4 year course. So I can see how well I'm going, and see if I like it, and make the decisions on the fly.

I'm pretty excited about it, I'll get to meet a heap of musicians, use really good facilities, and learn plenty of stuff about bass and musical theory :D.

Anyway, 'night guys.

40 days.

:smoke:

ShelBel 09-20-2004 07:45 AM

Wow, finally! Thanks Wintermute, #10 was just out of control.

I'm just draggin' my butt here today. I cannot wake up! *slurps coffee* Gawd, Thursday afternoon cannot come fast enough. Watch out New Orleans, here we come...

Saitoku 09-20-2004 07:50 AM

Bass HAVEN??? That doesn't rhyme... :p

Maybe if I change how I pronounce each word a little bit....

Off to class.

Wintermute 09-20-2004 07:56 AM

It rhymes if you say it in an accent.

Got any better ideas?

Mitchell Royce 09-20-2004 08:15 AM

Ahh, I'm bored. I just got back from work where i did absolutly nothing for 6 hours because all my bosses are sick or on vacation. On top of that i really need to start my application for uni, but alas, I'm way too bored to even do work. Ohh, and I don't know, but so far I have never seen a DJ work in a rock band. Someone needs to change that, Morpcat, prove to me that it can be done. For me Uni starts mid October, by the way.

FunkRhythm 09-20-2004 08:19 AM

i need help......whats the best bass for pop&slap and fingerstyle?

moxshyfter 09-20-2004 08:20 AM
