I just put a bunch of DKFH loops into Garageband, and drag and drop them where I please.
Think Not Forever has the most beastly opening war cry (schweet term) ever. |
i am using my synth module where all my other sounds where coming out of, i haven't found a way to make them sound full yet but if you hear the drum set through my keyboard amp you'll about **** yourself at how nice it sounds :p
haha ok. my mate gave me Drumkit From Hell as well as EZ drummer but I haven't figured out how to use either :p Ideally I'd have a program like tab trax and then something like DFH that I can drop the midi into so they sound at least a little realistic |

You can use guitar pro to export your midi drums if you have that. |
yeah i do :)
I just found TabTrax a bit easier to use (least the demo anyways) |
So has anyone heard of Northern Kings? It's consisted of Marco Hietala, Tony Kakko, Jarkko Ahola, and Juha-Pekka Leppaluoto. Their only album is all cover songs, but they are great.
|
listening to it now, sounds pretty awesome so far. witsh they would have remained closer to the original tunes though
|
I use Fruity Loops with Drumkit From Hell plugin. I think for PC synth drums, it can't be beat. How's everyone doing? Haven't been around forever. Been straying from PM a bit too. Winds, Megadeth, Agalloch, Death Angel, and Emperor have been dominating my playlists as of late. Also been beating up Kamelot and Hibria a lot though too.
Haha, sweet, man. I just thought about it one day and when a power metal singer does it, it's their war cry to rally all of us power metal Templars to battle.
...yeah.
I'd rather be a Power Metal Teuton, just to piss bands like Turisas off. |
So have there been any good PM releases in the last couple months I may have missed?
By the way, does anyone here listen to Miles Beyond? I heard them for the first time opening for Kamelot back in November and have been enjoying them a lot. Very Maiden-esque, but unique sounding as well. |
Boomerang's Sounds of Sirens is pretty awesome. Their vocalist sounds like a mix between Bruce Dickinson and James Hetfield. Also, Avantasia's The Scarecrow is top notch as well.
|
I forgot how cool Forgotten Tales are, even if they do dress like a bunch of French Canadian hobos. Production is kinda iffy, but music is top notch.

Is the singer good? Cause bands with a girl for vocals.. don't know but I can't listen to a whole album in one shot. |
They put too much echo on her voice production-wise and she has a few really shrill moments, but overall she does quite a good job.

Might check it out. But there are bands I wanna listen to before.:p |

That is the only album I've heard too, lol. |
I have the Metal Opera Pt.1 and it's good despite (or because of idk) it's excessive cheesiness.
|
Anyone listen to Persuader? I have The Hunter. Amazing album especially the song The Hunter.

Didn't know they were touring, but now than I know yes. I really like both, don't know if they come here, but if yes hope I can go.. Id be alone I think though.
I think it's US only if I saw corectly no? |

Anybody else excited for the Edguy/Kamelot tour?
When is this supposed to happen? |
so as i am laying in bed all day sick, i had a bunch albums i had planned to listen to but i hit a bump in the road. i came across an album i had waiting to listen to for a little while so i decided to put it in. now my other albums i had planned to play have been set back. the album i am talking about is.....
Heavenly - Sign of the Winner some seriously good power metal. right now its a 4/5 but might be bumped up to 4.5 |
What are some power metal bands that have a band ideology? There are a bunch of bands that just write crappy fantasy lyrics and then shred their asses off, but I'm starting to like the ones whose lyrics triumph goodness and righteousness and all of that. Maybe Axenstar, Lost Horizon, some Rhapsody?

Anybody else excited for the Edguy/Kamelot tour?
WHAT?! Balls, it's when I'm off at college. Although that might work in my favor, depending on where I'll be...if I'm in the city, I'm golden, provided I can scrape funds together. |
It'd be nice if a power metal band would, just once, tour the north of Australia. :(
