I find the idea of gays silly, but they should get married if they want to... Not my concern.
War sucks. No matter what. Bush is actually a genious; he fooled us all thinking Iraw had weapons of mass destruction, when Israel (an ally) had them all along. Why did you reelect him, tho? Something that troubles me about America: Why do they not trade with Cuba (or let them go to America/Puerto Rico :()? Your excuse is "becayse they are a communist", but you trade with China all the time. English limited me in that bit :( |
I don't like people calling Bush an idiot. That gets him out of trouble too easily. And he's obviously a very intelligent person (there are other kinds of smarts other than book smarts) which should be easy to see by what he has accomplished.
joe
123 again! Joe Daddio is now my official spokesman. THE PANCAKE HATH SPOKEN. |

Bush is a genius because he surrounds himself with smart people. However, I do NOT approve of what he has done in office for the most part (save a few things). Bush was re-elected because both candidates in this race were horrible. Kerry was definitely the lesser of two evils, but right now, the nation is at war. We can't change presidents during a war. It shows the enemy we're wavering. By electing Bush, we showed them we're not backing down. However, I think this is the most difinitive reason: no one voted. If I could've voted, I wouldn't have. It was a crappy situation: pick an evil man with a horrible agenda and show the enemy we're strong or pick a new less-evil but ungraceful and "unintelligent" (regardingly worldly matters) president that shows the enemy they're starting to beat the American conscience? I would've casted no vote. :thumb: -Gav |

Regarding #2: If there is no threat, since there are no functioning weapons... Did you REALLY need to start a war?
Although I actually never knew that, thanks. Regarding #4: Yes, but it did kinda limited Cuba and make their economy even weaker then it is (to my very limited knowledge)... And Silvio Rodriquez can't have a blasted concert here because the U.S doesn't grant him permition. That is just stupid. EDIT: #3: They haven't gone to war with them, which baffles me. Then again, Bush probably doesn't mean to, as he has enough hate already. Also, didn't Korea admit they had some, but were only storing them incase they needed to defent themselves? |
It's called a learning experience. Give it a shot, you'll see what I mean. Don't look at it from the protest standpoint, it isn't from mine. It's just to teach people interested in doing it what discrimination was like.
Now the people who turned their backs at the inauguration- that was pointless.
I didn't learn anything. The only thing it accomplished was a dislike for the people wearing the signs and heated arguments. |

Iraq had reactor grade plutonium, which is a far shot off from weapons grade plutonium.

Am I the only person that doesn't really have an opinion on it all? Or one that isn't specific enough, or would hold up to scrutiny from people? For that reason, I don't proclaim to have a strong stance on anything, except hating religion with a passion (sorry Gav), though that's more for personal reasons than religion as a whole.
Also, Orion is so beautiful... Its like electric guitars in perfect harmony. I'm so glad they didn't put it on S&M, it would have ruined it so badly. And I should probably be leaving now. Kinda sucks to have my evening's introductory post as a leaving one. Don't know if any of you really noticed I'va head like 2 posts a day on here recently. Meh. |

And Silvio Rodriquez can't have a blasted concert here because the U.S doesn't grant him permition. That is just stupid.
Actually, the problem really did lie in the UN. By law, the UN should have gone into Iraq- S.H. broke countless UN resolutions. In any case, that's why the US hasn't been diciplined by the world for it's actions. We shouldn't have gone to war, but it was A: economically beneficial to us. B: patriotically good (for a little while). and C: morally good-right intentions, but, to summarize the views I have on politicians deciding war, here's a quote i dug up a while ago... "Where they went wrong was giving the politicians the bomb." And teh weapons were operational- just not assembled yet. It's all a matter of perspective. |
^ No need to be sorry about hating religion, you Nietzsche, you! ;)
Some people like it, others don't. Mind you, I'm not "little Mr. Altar Boy," or anything, I just do the best I can to follow my religion the best way I can; be nice to everyone. I try to be as nice and unselfish as possible and keep a private relationship with God. :p :thumb: -Gav |

joe
They did have weapons grade plutonium. The UN inspectors didn't find it, but the US did. And Gav, I forgot to mention- voter turnout was higher this year than last election. |
I'm off...I need to shower, get ready, go to a National Honor Society meeting, and give a speech. :upset:
Later guys! :thumb: -Gav |
Hey guys.

Not that I'm a huge fan of the media we have here, but honestly I believe that if that were true it would be written in the sky for all to see. joe |
Fill me in here then.
joe
All I know for sure is that many of the top officers hate the government and media for saying there was no weapons-grade uranium. According to them, it's all political bs. I'm really not sure of specifics, as I'm not allowed to hear them, but a local GS15 was explaining to me that such stuff HAS been found, but there's some sort of politics surrounding it's failure to report. Granted, they found more deteriorated nuclear-grade, but there was some weapons grade. (my mother's the head of Marine intelligence out here, so I speak to several guys like this one. |
I'm not doubting that was what was told to you, and honestly I wouldn't put it past the media/politicos to be shady like that.
It just seems that what you're telling me supports this crazy idea of the "liberal media" controling the country. I would assume that since finding weapons grade uranium or plutonium in Iraq would help out the Bush Administration so much, and he'd be able to give the finger to the rest of the world and to people like me who have been calling him a liar. It just doesn't add up, ya know? If they found it, like I said, I would expect it to be everywhere, rubbing it in everyones face. joe |

If it were just one person telling me this, I'd probably brush it off, but several higher-ups tell me this. I wish I knew why, because then it would make sense.... And the media is liberal, but not as liberal as people think, and definitely not so much as to control the country. However, the media is a watchdog, and thus must be liberal. :thumb: |

Being liberal and being a watchdog have nothing in common, in reality. I'd expect that if we had an uber liberal president trying to raise everyones taxes to 75% and extenguish state rights, that the media would have a few things to say about that. joe |
