I think Neil Young was a better electric guitarist than acoustic.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 01:10 PM

Have you ever heard Tori Amos' cover of Heart of Gold? Kicks arse.

Actually, she gets my vote as one of the best singers/songwriters ever. You better believe it.

Woodstock 10-01-2004 01:20 PM

^I heard Tori Amos had her hands insured for her piano playing.

???

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 01:32 PM

Probably, she's an amazing musician. Should hear some of the stuff on piano she comes up with...

MalcolmYoungRock 10-01-2004 01:41 PM

She covered Smells Like Teen Spirit.... :upset:

That was terrible.

Anyway... minimum day bitches!!

Thats why i'm home early. hahaha.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 01:42 PM

She also covered Slayer's "Raining Blood" and it was great.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-01-2004 01:43 PM

Good god...

The Smells Like Teen Spirit was FUNNY as hell though.

Think about... piano player in bar singing grunge.

Great stuff..

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 01:44 PM

Yeah..she did a whole cover album. Everyone from Young to Depeche Mode to Slayer, it was good.

But anyways...

I got another Zeppelin bootleg today. You haven't heard Zeppelin until you've heard them live.

MalcolmYoungRock 10-01-2004 01:46 PM

I've listened to HTWWW and the DVD. That's made a believer out of me.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 01:47 PM

Those are cool, but these are just normal everyday shows, and sometimes you hear some AMAZING stuff. Some are just recorded by people in the audience. They're amazing.

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 01:53 PM

That's true. I've noticed that none of their shows are ever the same. They always change and improve the songs.

edit: nice going paronidd. Your Billy talent rant made fall off of my chair laughing (ouch :().

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 02:36 PM

That might also be beacuase Jimmy is drunk when he plays live.

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 02:40 PM

Possibly. But it's a good thing if it means that he plays like that.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 02:44 PM

Thanks :D

I was ranting live in my lunchroom at work when I saw they had a full page article on the band in the Toronto Star newspaper. Argh. Drives me nuts.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 02:44 PM

Actually you can hear him make alot of mistakes in the shows, hence my opinion that Page was pretty sloppy.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 02:48 PM

Page himself admits it.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 02:49 PM

Yup.

Nontheless, he still was great. One of the marks of a great musician is to be able to admit where you were great/bad due to drugs/alcohol.

BludgeonySteve 10-01-2004 02:56 PM

And he was less sloppy earlier in his carrer. HTWWW was mostly stuff from later in their carrer.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 02:58 PM

He says it beacause he played his guitar so low, that it made it hard for him to reach the strings.

Badmoon 10-01-2004 02:59 PM

Pearl Jam covered "Masters of War" by Bob Dylan on Letterman last night. They did good

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 03:00 PM

Cool, to bad they don't show reruns.

Badmoon 10-01-2004 03:00 PM

Yeah, and change that usertitle you fucker!!
