Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 04:33 AM

woah.. just got a mail from a band that need a "solid bassplayer".. i better eat and then go work on my timing

good rats 04-12-2005 05:31 AM

Haha, that's awesome. You interested? What kinda music are they playing? Tell us more about it.

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 05:35 AM

I dunno, i just got a Mail "Hey, we need a bass player and i have seen you around on heavymetal.no, what kinda metal you play, and how old are you?

we could realy need a solid bassist"

I have no info about the band what so ever :p i guess ill get a mail if they are still intrseted in a 18 year old bassist wich is a huge fan of iron Maiden, Rush, megadeth and Thin Lizzy :p

good rats 04-12-2005 05:38 AM

That's really cool, good luck with that. How did they get your email...?

Wintermute 04-12-2005 05:43 AM

Jailbreak is a fantastic album. Check out Black Rose and Live and Dangerous if you get the chance.

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 05:45 AM

yeah, i just need to get the sansamp PBDDI and some cables, and then im gonna start buying some albums, and thin lizzy is pretty high on my list(i think im gonna start with Jailbreak and Live and dangerous) Phil Lynnott was one funky lookin Irish man!

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 06:04 AM

ish.. i need new strings.. i was playing my old bass wich is equiped with Flatwounds, and discovered that flatwounds are made for my style of right hand playing.. my fingers kinda slips over them so i can reach high speed(and as a metal bassist thats a very good thing :p) and the Elixir's just slow me down... but im not always a fan of flatwounds sound, but with a Sansamp i guess i could overdrive it alittle so i lose the sig sound of it whenever i dont wanna have it that way.. i usually love them though....

good rats 04-12-2005 06:06 AM

I need a new bass, but I've got my eyes on something. A Yamaha BB605, anyone here played one? I really like it, and I can get it for about AUD$800, which is $500 of the usual retail price.

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 06:08 AM

let me say.. Closer to the heart by Rush is WAY TO SHORT! :upset:

CrAyZeEbAsS 04-12-2005 06:08 AM

Mooooooo

I just thought id ad that in......

good rats 04-12-2005 06:09 AM

Does everyone just seem to skip my posts?

 :upset:

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 06:11 AM

sorry, i havent played it... the stores around here usually have one MM stingray, One Fender P, one Fender J, and then a lot of crap basses...(yeah... Warwicks... *creeps*)

I'm looking into the same thing right now. it's between yamaha's BB 605 and Ibanez's SR 505. I think I'll go test them on friday.

good rats 04-12-2005 06:15 AM

I've played the BB605 a fair bit, and I love it. It's really versatile and an all round nice bass. I think I'm gonna go with the BB605.

then get it asap! it looks sweet, too!

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 06:20 AM

you know, when you find something yoou like, you should go for it right away... i wonder how many basses i was through in my mind before i got the geddy

good rats 04-12-2005 06:28 AM

This one is also good cause it's CHEAP. When I went to my music store, I looked at it, and thought, "woah, that's nice, it's gonna be expensive" And played something that I knew was in my price range, then the Bass Manager worker there came up and tlaked to me, and told me about, and I checked out teh price tag, and it was $1300. So it's all sweet, and I can get like $500 off as well.

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 06:47 AM

good rats 04-12-2005 06:55 AM

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 07:43 AM

yeah.. i decided that i would play some bass today, but then i put on the Rush in Rio album and got stuck here.... well well.. i have band practice later....

ElKapitan 04-12-2005 07:53 AM

anyone here a fan of/heard any Uriah Heap? a friend keeps going on about them and all i can do is admit ignorance to anything they've ever done, ever!

good rats 04-12-2005 08:07 AM

I've never heard of them.

ElKapitan 04-12-2005 08:11 AM
