i agree with the cheeseman

so who agrees with me that the new tallica album needs shorter songs and guitar solos?
If they would have shortened the songs and added solo's that would have made a huge improvement. I repped ya caps, You need to join the 4 star club :D

Emotional solos of course. I think Unforgiven's solo was pretty **** emotional.

But defenitely shorter songs and solos.

thanks! i have the posts, but i'm about 500 off on the rep

yes, it was. I still can't believe the band didn't like it at first...

But I think most of his solos have emotion. The only one that i think that doesn't have emotion is probably Sanitarium (main solo) because it's all at one speed and nothing changes

Burdcheese 01-25-2005 05:15 PM

I don't mind long songs as long as they have a genuine progression to them, ie speeding up as they go along.

To take One and Fade To Black as examples; they start slowly, but bear little resemblance by the end.

The problem with the songs on St. Anger and the giants on AJFA is that they're too samey and tend to just blend completely into themselves.

Best song ever...

anyways, agreed. AJFA has some long songs, but at least they solo. ...AJFA and One are the good songs on that album because they start slow and end well.

munky_magik 01-25-2005 05:28 PM

If 'Tallica do decide to more epic songs like Fade to black, one etc... then they need to try and change them a bit. I really won't appreciate it if they just end up sounding the same as the rest of their epic's.

~Edge~ 01-25-2005 05:32 PM

all I can say is that the tour of 04 was my first and probably most favorate concert I will ever go to.

iamkirk 01-25-2005 05:42 PM

You can't have an album filled with epics man.....

^Dream~Theater^ 01-25-2005 05:43 PM
You can't have an album filled with epics man.....
Yes you can. Dream Theater does it all the time.

Mister_Che 01-25-2005 05:43 PM
You can't have an album filled with epics man.....
You can if they are good epics.

munky_magik 01-25-2005 05:46 PM

They might just be crazy enough to try it. Has anyone heard some of the stuff discarded from St Anger?

I'm talking Valley of Misery here.

^Dream~Theater^ 01-25-2005 05:49 PM

I haven't. Do they contain any solo's? Would it be worth the time to listen to?

munky_magik 01-25-2005 05:51 PM

It's a good epic, with a good solo. I really like the song, gimmie a couple of mins and I'll upload it.

Is there a problem with the instrumentals?

W.M.A 01-26-2005 01:02 AM

did cliff play with a pick?

clown_phobia 01-26-2005 02:08 AM

No, cliff played with his fingers, just like rob.

Rob is the name of the new bassist, right?

ArcLite 01-26-2005 02:09 AM

Yeah, Rob Trujillo.

clown_phobia 01-26-2005 02:24 AM

Slipend123 01-26-2005 03:20 AM
