Riva 01-26-2006 04:44 AM

Who else had a great Australia day?

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 04:55 AM

It was pretty good...

No celebrating as such, Went and saw Narnia, which was awesome, and got a sweet new bag :D

On The Edge 01-26-2006 04:56 AM

Only 7 now, going out to a party at 8:30.

How much do the different beers cost in a 6-pack? Like Tooheys/carlton etc

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 04:57 AM

between $10 and $15 tops.

Go a 6-er of coldies.

Riva 01-26-2006 05:10 AM

Crown Lager is my favourite of the moment.

Bartender 01-26-2006 05:49 AM

So, Riva, how was your Australia Day?

Lord Abortion 01-26-2006 05:51 AM

What the hell is going on, and where are my fancy stars?

/catches up

blast it all.
sputnik
Never go there

Riva 01-26-2006 05:54 AM

Well, thank you for taking a non-prompted interest in my life, Bartender.

My Australia Day started off with a night of clubbing. I officially welcomed in January 26th with AC/DC at one of the local clubs. Then we had a good time traversing the town, before going having a nice pizza and/or hot dog on the Esplanade around 3am. Then I drove my girlfriend and I home, and we slept until 11 or so. Then we had a nice lunch, visited a few people, and watched the tennis.

Then I came home, and here I am.

Good times, for me. I like talking to friends, so yeah. Probably not an interesting read though.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-26-2006 06:29 AM

I woke up at about 12:30pm, then I watched the Cricket. Then Mad Max 2 came on after the Cricket, and here I am.

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 06:45 AM

Mad Max II was on?

I hope I didnt miss it (hope it wasnt aired here)

Steerpike 01-26-2006 06:48 AM

Autralia sounds nice right about now. Winter came in late with a bang. The other night, we had thunder, lightning, rain, and snow all at the same time.

Today, it's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey and my room is leaking heat like a seive while the radiator refuses to turn on.

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 06:51 AM

That sucks..
It was about 35-40 today, and then in a matter of 10 mins it went from hot and sunny (bluesky) to raining and thunder and bad winds.

Jev 01-26-2006 06:51 AM

It's freezing here also. The Russian weather got blown over here. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was some snow.

superpeer 01-26-2006 07:04 AM

What's with these new titles? :\

EDIT: Sweet, look at me, I'm superdupercool.

Bartender 01-26-2006 07:07 AM

Wow. They don't even talk about that kind of weather in the Bible.

<_<

Yeah it screened just after the cricket.

Bartender 01-26-2006 07:26 AM
I wish like hell I could remember the rest of that Lewis Black bit.
I'm just glad you recognise it as him.

kurrpt 01-26-2006 07:28 AM

it was snowing and thundering during band practice on Tuesday. Can't say I've ever experienced that before

Jev 01-26-2006 07:36 AM

I wish we'd get weather like that here :upset:

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 07:53 AM
Yeah it screened just after the cricket.
Damn, i DID miss it, it was finished before I even got out of bed though :-/

Apocalyptic Raids 01-26-2006 07:56 AM

I also just found some Arghoslent shirts on a couple of websites, shame I probably wouldn't be able to get them out to Australia :(

JausmetalJ 01-26-2006 07:59 AM

I got confused, Damn dirty apes, I thought it was on in the morning.

kurrpt 01-26-2006 08:08 AM

They should have replaced stars with "awesome user" or something...

Cain 01-26-2006 08:32 AM
Slander.

I didn't do that :(
Bobo did it first, if it makes you feel better. :p

I also remember the time where you were "really tired" and said that once you learned Illmatic's name was Ray, you would equate him with Ray Charles as an easy way to remember that he was black. :p

It always strikes me how incredibly different the makeup and tone of the thread was back then, when Bartender, Med, Riva, Vince, munky, Bobo, and a bunch of other older users were the main regs.

Lord Abortion 01-26-2006 08:34 AM

Yeah, Ali, Jake, Bobo, Ray and such just don't pop in as much anymore...

Cain 01-26-2006 08:37 AM
They should have replaced stars with "awesome user" or something...
Yeah, now the big av is our only status symbol.

And at least you've got that. :p

Lord Abortion 01-26-2006 08:38 AM

Only for another few days :(

Cain 01-26-2006 08:40 AM
Only for another few days :(
Jake Destructo got his taken away?

Where is that kid, BTW? I haven't seen him on at all.

EDIT: Also, is it possible for one to search within threads? If so, how?

superpeer 01-26-2006 09:04 AM

"Search this thread" if you mean just one thread.

Cain 01-26-2006 09:11 AM
"Search this thread" if you mean just one thread.
Where is that option? I'm blind and don't see it. :upset:

Steerpike 01-26-2006 09:13 AM

Top right of the thread underneath the page numbers.

So I just got back from my first guitar lesson this semester. Got my teacher listening to BOTAR and teaching me the rhythms to their songs. So, needless to say I'm in a good mood.

Jev 01-26-2006 09:13 AM
Where is that option? I'm blind and don't see it. :upset:
At the top of the thread, just under page selection and next to Thread tools.

Cain 01-26-2006 09:13 AM

ITT: I am retarded.

Jom 01-26-2006 09:31 AM

Hey, I recognized that Lewis Black sketch! It's when he's talking about the weather, right? With Al Roker being two feet off and the other meteorologist going "Bouncing frogs, bouncing frogs, what can I say? Back to you!"

I posted the same thing in The Pit in that "Valentine's Day is approaching..." thread, except I did the "Sleet grey, snow grey, every day it just gets greyer and greyer. And then I look at my wrists and go, 'Hey, maybe I should slit 'em to see color,'" then made a standard post underneath it.

In typical Pittian fashion, some kid trying to be funny goes, "Remember, across the street not down the road :thumb: (or whatever the hell the real passage is, I forget because I don't remember too many stupid things)."

On the upshot, The Pit keeps people like that out of our community thread.

kurrpt 01-26-2006 09:41 AM

u had it backwards jom

its down the road, not across the street :thumb:

Don't call me emo :upset:

Thanks, though. Hopefully I'll remember for next time, haha.
On the upshot, The Pit keeps people like that out of our community thread.
Good point.

For those of you who have been wondering where Ali's been, he's been doing just fine. He sent me an e-mail the other day that reads the following:
Andrew W.K's Commandments:

1: Don't Stop Living
2: It's Time To Party
3: Party Hard \m/
4: Party Till You Puke \m/
5: Make Sex
Much like "Thou shalt not" begins pretty much every commandment, "Party" seems to dominate the commandments of Ye Olde Andrew WK.

And, the conversation that followed:
[01:00] Jom: I do appreciate the e-mail, though.
[01:00] Jom: I printed it out and posted it inside my townhouse.
[01:00] Jom: For all to see.
[01:01] munky_magik: you have to be joking
[01:01] Jom: No, actually.
[01:01] Jom: I even posted the Scottish flag underneath it.
[01:01] munky_magik: now you're most definetily lying
[01:02] Jom: heh heh heh
[01:02] munky_magik: tough if you did print it out and stick it around it would be appreciated
[01:02] munky_magik: not jus tby me but by everyone who read it, I'm sure
[01:02] Jom: I'll make flyers and post it on campus.
[01:03] Jom: All over.
[01:03] munky_magik: I really hope you do
[01:03] munky_magik: if you post your name at the bottom you'll be a legend
[01:04] Jom: Actually, I'll sign it "Ali [his last name]"
[01:04] munky_magik: awww...that'd be crazy and/or wierd
[01:04] Jom: I'll post your e-mail address too :)
[01:05] Jom: And say that you're Scottish.
[01:05] munky_magik: go for it, please
[01:05] munky_magik: I'd love to see the responses I'd get
So, he's alive and well and not dead, just so you know.

kurrpt 01-26-2006 10:21 AM

ill take that as a joke JOM :D

i just remember cause its HOW to do it correctly
