My friends and I still call each other boners and make jokes about farting and pooping and we're mostly freshman and sophomores in college.
Only my old school friends, though, the kids I grew up with. Everyone else is like, "...Did you just tell me to go fuck my dad? That's mature." They don't see the humor. :upset:
On the topic of stupid immature humour, in the spirit of blink of course. I went out camping with a group of about 3 old friends, and three new friends from school. When one of the new guys was asleep we took his phone them flimed another guy teabagging then turkey-slapping him. It was rather disturbing at the time, but none the less hilarious. In the morning we showed him, all three of us pissed ourselves for like 2 hours straight, and the three lame new guys were just like, 'that's not funny...'. Assholes, that have NO sence of immature humour..... Anyways, I just had to vent my frustration, in the form of a random internet post on MX... seemed like a good idea at the time. ...WOO, BLINK! ONE! EIGHTY! TWO! YEEEAAAAAAHHHH!!! |
ROFL THAT'S AWESOME.
Immaturity. |
Hey! I was a public school kid... :upset:
I still am... :upset: Stupid Christian schools... They wouldn't let me in, just coz I don't believe in thier god. Fags. |
I don't believe in god and I go to Catholic college. I went to Catholic school my entire life.
I'm a Buddhist. |
Blasphemer!
Satan will have your soul for that! /insert cackle |
You'd be surprised at how many times I've heard that, actually...
|
Oh, well....I'm just kidding!
I'm sure some of those Catholics you go to school with are serious, though. They can be crazy at times. |
Everyone of any religion can.
I can honestly say I've met as many "crazy atheists" as I have "crazy religious people." They're in all walks of life. |
I'm a Jew. Well, sort of.
I'm not really, because I'm pretty sure you have to be born into it. But I believe in their basic idea, so I just go with it. |
Everyone of any religion can.

BLINK IS MY GOD! |
I don't believe in god and I go to Catholic college. I went to Catholic school my entire life.

I guess I'm atheist... I don't really have a religion. Meh. BLINK IS MY GOD!
maybe you should grow up then athiest means you dont believe in anything at all religions arent all about gods and **** its more about morals so what, you dont have any morals? |
Im an atheist, i have morals, what's the problem.
|
Im pretty sure atheism is denying the existence of a higher power, and agnosticism is when youre unsure or more or less dont care, amirite?
This is the deepest conversation this thread has ever seen. |
Pretty much, but as an atheist im still open to offers, i mean if God came and spoke to me tonight id believe, where as a religious person can look at evidence against their beliefs and completely discount it, but thats my biased opinion.
In a way i am an agnostic, i dont completly rule out the existence of some kind of creator, but im 99% sure of it andeven more sure than he doesnt care what we do with our lives. |
I guess im agnostic, I dont believe in any gods or higher power or follow a religion, but that doesnt mean I dont have morals.
The thing that upsets me with religion is the people who claim to be christian, but it seems like they dont really believe in god or the bibles teachings, they just use it to get the upper hand in arguments involving morals. I dont see a need to religion to find answers to things, either. Nothing against religious people, only the ones that dont practice and claim to be into their faith. Out of any religion, Buddhism is te one that never seemed like total bullshit, but I think Ill stay as an agnostic. |
Buddhism seems okay but id still rather make my own decisions not follow someone elses.
What makes me not belive in the first place is that the bible is ridiculous, walking on water, feeding 5000 people with a loaf of bread, an ark that housed two of every animal in the world and survived a global flood that never happened, the world being created in seven days. S'hit like that just doesnt happen in real life. It annoys me when people are christian but dont follow what it says in the bible. Like one of the ten commandments is keep the sabbath holy, i.e you cant work on a sunday, but how many supposed christians do? |
FUCK THE POSERS
But you really cant model everything after your religion, especially things like that. Our country tries to make all religion equal, and not working on sundays would screw up that muslim guy down the street that needs the cash. |
People should just use the intelligence god has apparently graced them with instead of looking for the answers in a 2000 year old book.
|
Buddhism seems okay but id still rather make my own decisions not follow someone elses.
That's a good way to put it, but it's much moreso very basic rules. You bassically agreee you won't do this: Don't kill or cause suffering to any sentient being Don't speak falsely Don't steal No sexual misconduct (adultery, rape, etc.) Don't take intoxicants that leed to heedlessness They're called The Five Precepts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Five_Precepts I think that's stuff basically everybody of good moral conscience can agree with and I follow that stuff anyway, aside from the last one. It doesn't mean intoxicants that lead to psychadellic states, just that lead to heedlessness, like alcohol and cocaine do. Every buddhist I've met said it doens't mean marijuana, but that doesn't mean Buddhists totally condone the use of marijuana. |
I pretty much follow those anyway, so yeah, shits fine with me.
|
Don't kill or cause suffering to any sentient being
Im not a vegan, so i asumme i fail this.
Don't speak falsely
I lie from time to time, most people do.
Don't steal
I steal music everyday
No sexual misconduct (adultery, rape, etc.)
The only one i dont fail at.
Don't take intoxicants that leed to heedlessness
I get drunk every so often. So basically im not much of a buddhist seen as i fail the entry qualifications, i still maintain that im not a bad person or anything though. |
I do all those too but I want to address this one:
Im not a vegan, so i asumme i fail this.
Actually, in Tibet, farming is difficult so they HAD to eat meat. So no, if you want to study Buddhism, you don't have to be veg, so being vegan is out of the question. But yeah, back to what I was saying: no one's perfect. I mean, I wouldn't totally consider myself a Buddhist. I'd say I'm studying it. |
Im pretty sure atheism is denying the existence of a higher power, and agnosticism is when youre unsure or more or less dont care, amirite?
This is the deepest conversation this thread has ever seen.
This. There's a big difference between being agnostic and an athiest. Gav: there's actually ten precepts but the other five only apply to monks. I studied Buddhism in school. Buddhism is basically Hinduism light. |
Gav: there's actually ten precepts but the other five only apply to monks.
...and therefore don't apply to anyone on here, hence why I omitted them. O_O Those are called the Five Precepts. |
This.
There's a big difference between being agnostic and an athiest.
I dont think there is. Almost no one is 100% sure of their not being a God so more Atheists are still Agnostic in that they dont know they just think that there probably isnt a God, its not like we wouldnt change our mind if someone provided any evidence for God or Gods. |
Agnosticism is more thinking that if there is a god then its too complex of an idea for humans to grasp, atheism is outright denial of any powers existence.
|
But if you think that it is way to complex an idea it is denouncing the legitimacy of any and all religions seen as they are trying to bring God to the people. So it is not far from Atheism because they are denoucing any form of organised religion.
|
They are both denouncing them, but atheism is saying that there DEFINITELY isnt a god, and Agnosticism is saying that there might be but we will never understand it. Still similar.
|
Well i wouldnt say there is 100% definately not a God but i think that one day we will understand it. So i dont know where i fit.
|

Most people see those as metaphors, and don't take them literally, which I think is how they're meant to be taken. I also think some of the stories in the bible are just that, stories, and not really meant to be taken as anything else. Unfortunately, there are many people who interperet the bible word for word, and that causes problems. |
Wow, religion in the blink thread?
What happened to the poopy poo-poo caca? :( |
The catholic religion claims the stories in the bible are metaphorical and are to teach moral lessons.
Unfortunately most people don't actually know this and use the stories to try and prove that catholics are wrong. There are other strands of christianity that do take the bible literally however, which is sad, although they do make nice stories to read. |
Catholocism when approached open mindedly isn't so bad as people make out. On the whole, most catholics are not hard-line catholics, who interpret the bible word for word. Most catholics understand that alot of the things in the Bible are purely metaphorical, there to serve the purpose of teaching lessons in some way.
However, the same applies to most religions, with the hard line believers seemingly distorting the religions true meaning. Oh the irony. |
Sort of like the Vatican.
|
Religion is a waste of time, what the hell do you gain by being religious?. Christians are rediculous, living in fear of something that doesn't exist and spending most of their sundays worshipping a being that can be compared to Santa or the easter bunny. I could say God is an asshole, and I'd like to tie him to a chair and fuck his sister in front of him and my life will remain the same. I think you're weak if you have to rely on a set of rules to keep yourself in control or be a good person, all it takes is common sense.
